Hiya Honey a la Jodi Collins

You can tell summer is definitely in full swing.  The sun is still baking us here in Northern California.  Triple digits do not agree with me, especially when we don't have air conditioning!!   So when I say today's card was made with love, blood (plenty of sweat) and tears, you can believe me.  LOL! 

My dear friend and stamping idol, Jodi Collins, made THIS ADORABLE card a few weeks ago and I asked her if I could CASE it using TCP's PJ Bear for my main image.   Being the sweetie she is, she said yes and I got creating!

 

 
The colors were perfect for my honey bear card. I started out by stamping my images on Choice Snow White cardstock with my favorite ink - Versafine black onyx and followed with a good dusting of Filagree clear embossing powder.  I love the way heat embossing makes my images look - all glossy!! After coloring PJ, I cut him out and popped him up with some 3D foam dimensionals.  Lots & lots of stitching in this baby.  FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Here's a close up of my little honey bee.  I added some red Stickles to his heart wings for texture.   I free hand cut the sentiment flag too.

Field of Pinwheels

Good Morning!!!!

Just a quick post for me today.  I'm sure many of you have seen the new stuff from The Cat's Pajama's.  But in case you haven't I wanted to share my recent splurge with you!  

My card today features one of the new images, called Field of Pinwheels.  I just LOVE this bunny!!!

 

Believe it or not I already had this card base (including the ribbon) done and sitting in my little cubbie, of stuff that never made it.   It's kind of like my little graveyard of card parts that never made it to fruition.  But being the hoarder that I am, I can't bear to throw them out.  Good thing too, cause here is proof that nothing should go to waste!!  LOL!

The paper is from Echo Park's Sweet Summertime collection and is from one of my Key Ingredients kits from last year. I also picked up this FANTABULOUS swanky grass die from TCP.   I absolutely love the look of this die.  My little felt cloud was cut out using a new die from C.C. Cutters.  Felt is compliments from my dear friend Michele H.  Thanks Michele!!

The Cat's Pajama's has something new.  And I just love the name of it too.

 

Alma, owner/creator and simply the cat's meow, has started posting daily picks of the litter that feature - what else?  Creations using The Cat's Pajama's stamps.  I've been having a blast with my new images and my Penguin - Love Me Do card was selected as yesterday's pick!  I was so honored I wanted to share my excitement with my dear stamping gal pals!!

Getting Older?

Hey stamping friends!  Thanks for stopping by today.  I have another fun Cat's Pajama's card to share with you.  I've been having a lot of fun lately stamping just for the heck of it.  I almost forgot how fun it was!   

 

For today's card I used the adorable bunny from the Forget about the Cake set.   The fun paper I used is another new one from Echo Park - Little Girl collection.  I kept the layout fairly simple to focus on my image.  I just love this bunny.  I wanted to play up the brown of the cake so I used brown card stock for my base. 

 
What else would make this a stand out card?  But some liquid pearls of course!  Here's a close up of my chocolate cake.  I airbrushed the back ground using one of my pink Copics to make it pop.  And for some reason I can't recall the color right now.  It may have been R83.  This sentiment just cracks me up too.  It fits my sense of humor to a tee.  It's excatly the kind of thing I would send a loved one!

Love Me Do!

Good Morning!!

I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day.  I'm officially coming down from an overdose of chocolate and Girl Scout Cookies.  Lucky me - the cookies came in Sunday night and I have boxes & boxes covering my family room floor.  If anyone needs any I can hook you up!  DD is trying to break her record sales from last year.  I've already purchased 10 boxes!

In addition to the GS cookies there was still plenty of love in the air too.  I couldn't resist sharing another *love* themed card with you.  I just *heart* this penguin from the new Got Love set from The Cat's Pajama's.

 

I had so much fun creating this card.  It kept evolving as I was making it.  Just like the bottom piece.  That's not a new border punch I used to get these big hearts.  It was a complete accident!  The top part of the "hearts" was created using my SU! scallop border stamp.  That was my intended use for the strip.  Then I changed my mind and was going to use my heart border die from Taylored Expressions.  I used the scrap of paper I used for the scalloped border.  After I cut out my heart border I was left with this scrap!  It was a pleasant accident that happened to also look like larger hearts!!!

Here's a close up of my spica glittered hearts.  They look much prettier in real life. 

Well peeps I hope you like today's card and my "accident".  LOL!  Speaking of like.  I will admit to everyone that I did have Bieber fever this weekend after seeing the Justin Bieber movie with DD.  Just as I suspected, I learned a lot about him and his very fast rise to fame.  He's one talented young man.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

 

 

 

 Good Morning peeps!!!  And Happy Valentine's Day!  I'm so glad that it falls on a weekday this year.  I always like to do a little something for DH and it's more fun to have that something sent to his work.  He works in a machine shop and the guys always give him a hard time for it, but he secretly likes the attention. 

Included with his little something is this card I made him.  I'm lucky that he actually appreciates my little obsession, I mean hobby.  This is the adorable Bear Hugs set from The Cat's Pajama's.   I knew when this set came out I had to get it just so I could make him a card.  That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

 

 

 
I used some more new Bo Bunny paper.  This time it was from the Crazy Love collection. I figured I could get away with a little pink today.   

 

 
Here's a close up of my glittered heart.  I stamped the image a second time and popped it up with some dimensionals for a little something extra.  The hearts in the corner are from the new heart trio die I also *had* to have.

And eat cake!  Ha, thought I was going to say Turkey.  LOL!   Well not today.  Just a few more sleeps till that big day.  I have been dying to ink up this cutie since I picked it up from The Cat's Pajamas awhile back.  It's called Forget about the Cake.  I just adore this bunny.

 

 
I colored him up with my favorite Copic colors, browns & pinks.  For an added effect, I dabbed my colorless blender pen over the pink frosting to make the dots.  The longer you leave the the pen down the lighter your mark will be.  I also played with my new scalloped eyelet border die from Taylored Expressions.  I love this thing.  You will definately be seeing a lot more of it! 

My BSFF (best stamping friend forever) Michele had made some really cute cards awhile back using this yummy paper from Imaginisce B-day Bash.  I finally scored some and couldn't resist pairing it with my little bunny.  Thanks for the inspiration Michele!!

Ski Bunny TCP Style

It felt good to get back into the swing of things this weekend.  I have a few more cards up my sleeve to share with you.  Sneek peeks are also just around the corner for All That Scraps and Claudia & Co.  And I can't wait for you to see what's in store!  ***shriek***  

I know I say this just about every post lately... but isn't this the cutest?!!!!  Here's another set I picked up during the latest Cat's Pajama's release.  Appropriately called, Ski Bunny this little guy was a must have for me.

I let my patterned papers do all the work for me with this card.  They are from a holiday paper pad I picked up last year from Michael's and it's from Me & My Big Ideas.  Kraft and red cardstock to set off my fun paper and a few embellies  - viola!  I just wish executing was as fast!  LOL!   Oh I also added some clear glaze to bunny's skis for a little shine.

SFYTT - Witchy Style

I'm back!!!!!  It was so good for me to take a step back and catch my breath this past week.  I probably could've used another, but my Cat's Pajama's order arrived and they were just begging to be played with and Jen's sketch for you to try seemed like just the perfect thing to help me get started.

My friend Tori Wild is Jen's guest this month. And she is always so inspirational I couldn't resist her suggestion to play along!

When I saw the previews for this set I knew she just had to come live with me.  The set is called WITCHY.  Not only is she cute, but she has a KITTY!!!!!   I took a chance and used some of my very new  Spooky Town paper from Doodlebug Designs.  I will have to order more for sure!  This stuff is SUPER cute as everything by Doodlebug is.  I got mine on sale, HERE.  Do you like the cloud dies?  Those are actually from Papertrey Ink and can be found HERE.  I airbrushed them as well as the green background for Witchy.  I'm hoping to get an air-compressor for my b-day (this Friday!!!!!)  Air cans are great, but they go fast and can add up quickly.

Have a cuppa....

A cuppa of Joe that is.  Well at least that's what I'm having this bright wonderful Monday morning.  Did I just say wonderful and Monday in the same sentence?  Whoa, coffee must be workin'.  LOL!  I say anything with "whip" on top is bound to be a good thing.  And so I caved this morning by stopping at Starbucks and getting a grande, white chocolate mocha to ease myself into my week. 

And how about this little cutie from The Cat's Pajamas?  On my last order from All That Scraps I couldn't resist picking up this new set called A Cuppa.  I just love this bear.  Do you notice anything else new on the card?  If you guessed the ric rac die then you're right.  Another thing I picked up on my last ATS order.  Christine has started carrying the dies from The Cat's Pajamas AND My Favorite Things.  Double bonus!!
 

I finally broke into my latest Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions.  This month's kit includes some yummy paper from Echo Park, called A Walk in the Park.  The colors are fun and the whimsical patterns are right up my alley.  And for some reason the browns just made me think of this bear and the card was born.  The ribbon and button accent is compliments of my DD.  She thought they were the perfect colors to go with the card.  I was truly honored too that she gave me something from her stash - she's a hoarder just like her momma!

A few months' back we made a bunch of these ribbon bows using my pal, Tori Wild's awesome tutorial. We must've made a dozen or so.  I like that she and I can share my passion for crafting together. 

Oh and do you like how I placed the sentiment?  I'm kinda liking it.  Quick tip - I actually had a mistake that I needed to cover up.  I had some ink on my finger and when I went to pick up my image I got some underneath the tea cup.  I was so upset too since it was all colored and ready for the card.  Rather than do it over (I hate to do that) I still had to decide on where to put the sentiment - I had a V8 moment.  Viola!
