I literally flipped when I saw this months kit.  Such fun dies, papers and images to work with.   Patterned paper this month is from Simple Stories - diy boutique.  Can you tell what I didn't use on this card?  No stamping!  I shocked myself, but LOVE the way it turned out and I hope you do too!

Happy Birthday - SSSC222

Hi gang!  Has it really been a week since I last posted? It's one of those weeks.  Between home, work and year end school activities I'm pretty spent.  Good thing I have crafting to keep me sane.  LOL!  I shot for the stars using this month's stamp of the month from Taylored Expressions called - Bright Boutique.  I needed a quick birthday card for a family member recently and this is what I came up with using Karen's newest sketch.

Happy Hump Day!  Looks like Typepad was having issues again yesterday as I was trying to post something I just gave up.  I'm finding that a blessing in disguise as things are hectic enough right now.   Hard to believe another school year is almost over.   I've said it once and I'll say it again, thank goodness I have stamping to keep me sane.

May KI & SOTM Blog Hop

I love, love, love everything in this months' kit.  I know you never hear me say that.  LOL!  But seriously I do!  I stamped the flower and butterfly images using Colorbox chalk inks.  I added some pearls to the centers of the smaller butterflies for a bit of pop.  My favorite is the larger butterfly.  I drizzled star dust Stickles to the center of the wings for fun.

April KI & SOTM Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the April Key Ingredients Kit and SOTM blog hop!  This month we are taking the expression "made with love" to a whole new level.  You are going to die for this months kit featuring Made with Love SOTM and it's coordinating die - Stitched with Love. 

As most know already, crafters love the idea of handmade gifts.  Am I right?   I typically will bee line for any pastel colors, but I really love how black makes everything else about a project stand out. So I went bold for my first project using the new kit.  I was completely swooning over the scissor die.  I cut it out using a scrap of heavy chipboard.  After it was cut out I used a silver metallic pen to color the ends and a black glaze pen for the handles.  In addition to using my Stitched with Love dies, I used Taylor's instant photo frames to showcase the vintage sewing machine.

March Key Ingredients Showcase

Good Morning!  Thanks for stopping by.  I have a very special post in store for you.  Today I'm showcasing the versatility of Taylor's Key Ingredients kits.   

 

I like having ready-made gifts on hand for those times when I need something in a pinch.  Those occasions seem to happen when it comes to teacher or co-worker appreciation.  Luckily I always have the supplies I need on hand with my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit.   This month’s kit has plenty of inspiration to create the perfect 3x3 notecard box and notecards.  You can find an excellent tutorial on SCS here to create your own.    For my box top I used the new Take a Spin SOTM and Spin it to win it dies.

 

 

 

I played with the fun prints in this month’s paper pad – Simple Stories Daily Grind.  Using a sheet of Choice Snow White card stock from my kit I made my 3x3 my card bases.  I then took the coordinating card stock to create a pop of color to my card base.   Included in this month’s kit are these fabulous wooden charms that coordinate!

 

One of the many things I love about my Key Ingredients Kit is that I have plenty of supplies to make several cards, but it I also have supplies left over to make “extra” projects like this.  As you can see I kept my notecards simple by using the SOTM, wooden charms and dies.  And for a little added pop some clear gems!  The possibilities are really endless with these kits.

For my first project I used Take a Spin to create this congratulations card.  You never know when you're going to need one, so it's best to have a stash on hand.  I used Karen Giron's SSSC206 for my inspiration.
