Happy Memorial Day Weekend!  I hope everyone is enjoying the nice long 3-day weekend.  I'm trying to take it easy as I'm coming down with another cold.  No fun!  The cold medicine is definitely working, because I almost forgot to get this post up even though I've had it ready for a week!  LOL!

It's time to play along with my favorite sketchy gal, Karen Giron.  We'd love for you to play along too.  You can get all of the details from Karen's blog.  My card may look a little familar as I used this same image and paper from a card back in February.  You can see the original >> here <<  I just adore the look on this frog's face.  The image is from Oh What a Day by Taylored Expressions.  To give the eyes added dimension I used a black glaze pen over the centers of the eyeballs.  It looks really cool in real life.  What I really like about this color palette is you can use if for a guy or girl.  Not often that happens!

SFYTT - I Want Candy

Happy almost Friday!  I hope your week has been going well.   I've been a busy bee lately and it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.   I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the fact that school is starting in a few weeks!   We shopped for back-to-school supplies the other day and I still couldn't believe it.  Am I a total nerd that I still ♥ love to shop for school supplies?  I don't know what it is about it that I love so much.  Maybe because it's like buying crafting stuff!  LOL! 

Okay so now I want some candy!  Well not literally.  Today's post features Jen's awesome SFYTT for the month and the sweet new kids on the block - The Meoples. 

I did something a little different.  Well at least different for me.  I used white card stock for my base.  I almost never do that!  LOL!  I've seen other crafters do that and I always say, "why didn't I think of that!"  I used more fun paper from Echo Park's Hello Summer to show off my sweet lollipop wielding Meople. After I got her all colored and popped up on the card it was missing a little something.  So I stamped this fun sweet ticket logo in warm red Colorbox ink on kraft paper.  Once the ink dried I cut out the tag using a coordinating ticket die from All That Scraps and added some red pearls to the corners.

Magical SFYTT

Good Morning friends!!  I hope everyone had a good weekend.  We got a little rain here in the Bay Area.  Not quite as much as expected, but we'll take what we can get.  I didn't do much this weekend.  It was kind of nice to just do whatever.  I finally got rid of my 10-day headache too.   It was a combination of a sinus pressure and a migraine.  After a quick trip to Walgreen's, I spoke to the pharmacist and she recommended sudafed and ibuprofen.  It worked! 

I felt so great yesterday I decided to stamp just for fun.  Woo-hoo!!  Of course I needed a sketch to help get my creative juices going.   I used Jen's SFYTT and this adorable set from TCP called Presto!

I wanted to do a love themed card with a more masculine feel.  Thinking ahead for DH and Valentine's Day.  **grin**   I chose to use some patterned paper from  My Mind's Eye Love Me collection and grey card stock from SU!

 

I love the way this turned out.  Very different for me as you guys know I'm more of a pastel girl.  I couldn't leave the corner without a little something.  I ran some of the red card stock through my Cuttlebug using the hearts trio die from TCP.   A button and some twine finishes it off.

SFYTT - Witchy Style

I'm back!!!!!  It was so good for me to take a step back and catch my breath this past week.  I probably could've used another, but my Cat's Pajama's order arrived and they were just begging to be played with and Jen's sketch for you to try seemed like just the perfect thing to help me get started.

My friend Tori Wild is Jen's guest this month. And she is always so inspirational I couldn't resist her suggestion to play along!

When I saw the previews for this set I knew she just had to come live with me.  The set is called WITCHY.  Not only is she cute, but she has a KITTY!!!!!   I took a chance and used some of my very new  Spooky Town paper from Doodlebug Designs.  I will have to order more for sure!  This stuff is SUPER cute as everything by Doodlebug is.  I got mine on sale, HERE.  Do you like the cloud dies?  Those are actually from Papertrey Ink and can be found HERE.  I airbrushed them as well as the green background for Witchy.  I'm hoping to get an air-compressor for my b-day (this Friday!!!!!)  Air cans are great, but they go fast and can add up quickly.
