You perk me up!

Really you do!  Do you guys have a friend(s) that no matter what's going on in your life they some how perk you up?  I hope so!  Because everyone needs that now & then.  And wouldn't you know it, that person for me is the same person that bought me this stamp.  Thanks Michele!! 

Today's card features Perk me up Peeps by Stamping Bella.  Aren't they just the cutest pair of friends?  I just *love* their hair.  Soooooo adorable.

 

 
I had no idea what I was going to do when I set out to make this card.  I just knew I had to ink up this image and get these friends colored ASAP.  I really liked the red & blue color combo that the bottom peep was sporting so I dug through my paper stash and pulled out this paper from My Mind's Eye Love Me Do collection.  I love it when I use stuff I already have!  It almost makes me feel less guilty for all the new stuff I keep aquiring. 

As you can see I paper pieced the coffee cup with the same dotted paper.  I love this cup.  If I saw it in a store I'd definitely buy it.  I stamped the sentiment, which is included with the image, onto cardstock that I cut out using one of my new C.C. Cutters - banner tag dies.  I then topped it off with a heart shape, using my heart trio die from TCP, with a button and twine bow.

Good morning peeps!!  I'm back with another image from Zlatoena Designs.  You know how I love this bunny.  But did you notice this time it's a girl!  I just love the bow in her hair. 

 

 
I wish you could see this cardstock in real life  It's just goregous!  It's called Jubilee and it's by Bazzill. I wanted something fun with a bit of a pop for my card.  The patterned paper is from Three Bugs in a Rug.  My LSS just put out some fun new spring-y paper and I quickly snatched this up.  The pastel colors are just my style.  I wanted to keep the layout simple to show off my image.  For added dimension I added a "Jodi frame" around my rectangle and popped up the bunny with some foam dots.

Not sure if you can tell from my picture, but I added some *sparkle* with my spica glitter pens to bunny's bow and the ribbon on the present.  It looks great in person!

Hi there!!!

I know spring isn't quite here yet, but I just couldn't resist making a card with my newest stamp!  Does this little cutie look familiar??   Well if you said, "he kinda looks like the bunny from The Cat's Pajama's", you'd be almost right.

The incredible Zlatina from Zlatoena Degins is the artist behind the lovable bunny.  She has a store on Etsy and I just happened to *find* this new digital image.  ***Enabler Alert**** - she has others!

 
As I've mentioned before, one of the things I love about digital stamps is how you can re-size them to get it just the way you want.   Oh and that instant gratification of getting them ASAP isn't so bad either.  LOL!  I had several sheets of this Hippity Hoppity paper from We R Memory Keepers that I picked up last year and never used. I know, I know.  That never happens to you guys!!

Don't you just love this yummy double bow?  I pulled out my Bow Easy to make it.  I'm a huge fan of Mercy Kerin, you all know her from her blog Lord Have Mercy (Hi, Mercy ) and she always has perfect bows.  I was tying to channel her.  The sentiment is from The Cat's Pajama's Spring Fling set.  Thought it went perfect with bunny.

Need I say more? I have long been a fan of Carol's work.  And it was such a treat to have her play along with the sketch.  You hear that Carol - you rock girl!  Seriously just look at the details.  The pattern on the blue paper almost looks exactly like her border punch.  Or vice versa!  And the embossed side panel where she cleverly used  her button TCP Cut Up dies!! I almost wouldn't mind getting a shot from Sprinkle with her cute little pink nurses hat too.  Notice I said almost!  LOL!  Congratulations Carol on being selected this week's featured Sketch Artist.  Please be sure to pop on over to see other crafty goodies from Carol on her blog, Scrap Just 4 Fun! 

 

Sketch 97

I made this card over the weekend using the darling Mavis from Stamping Bella.  She is a cutie patootie!!!  The image is called Mavis builds a sandcastle.  Sentiment is from AmyR's Underwater sentiments from All That Scraps.  Aside from Mavis being the cutest thing to hit the beach this summer, how about this HAPPY paper?  It's from one of my newest favorite companies - Echo Park.  I got mine from my last Project Pantry kit from Taylored Expressions - where else?  Taylor is always on trend with the latest and greatest!
 

I had fun coloring her.  I didn't like the way the inner tube turned out, so rather than starting over, I simply paper pieced it!  I neglected to do a close up shot (sorry), but I used my clear glaze pen over her sunglasses for a wet look.  And just a side note to my fellow hoarders..... I've had those blue brads for years from Making Memories the thought behind the purchase was "you never know" - that came in handy for this card because the blue matched spot on!!  LOL!

As always I'll choose the most clever, creative, and cute creation from the submissions this week to be the next Sketch Artist. Your design will also be featured on my blog next week!

No Monday blahs here.....

Good Morning!!!!  Did you all have a good weekend?  Mine is a bit of a blur.  I remember doing laundry, grocery shopping all while listening to my DD playing the new Justin Bieber CD.   I guess it was only a preview of what's to come in the following years as she gets older.  HELP!!!! 

Do you see anything new here?  If you said that cute little girl with a bunny then you'd be right.  She is my newest acquisition from a new stamp company called, Claudia & Co. Needless to say I was already a fan of the name!  In case you didn't know that is my DD name.  The stamps are designed by the amazing Lori Boyd.  These cuties are called Puddle Jumpers and are available at Die Cuts R Us.

Let me first start by saying that Die Cuts R Us is GREAT!  I got my order super fast.  I placed it on Wed. and had my order in my hands by Saturday!!  As with most stampers we can't have our goodies soon enough.  Since my desk was a complete disaster, I just grabbed what was out.  I still had all my supplies from making THIS card so I went with it.  After coloring Emma and her little furry friend, I grabbed a piece of my shimmery Reminisce paper and stitched it to my Prism cardstock.  I've become somewhat obsessed with my Apron Lace border punch too.  You will be seeing it on more cards.

The sentiment is from MFT Pure Innocence My Basket of Eggs set. The little butterfly is from Making Memories.  I hope today's card puts a little smile on your face to get your week started.

How to start your day....

With a Weeeeeee of course!   I mean is there anything better?  I know that's how I used to feel as a kid.  Even more so once I learned how to swing higher on my own!!

Today's card was inspired by THIS card from the amazing Jackie Pedro.  I had to use another one of my Pure Innocence images from My Favorite Things.  Will the cuteness never end??   The bright and playful patterned paper by My Mind's Eye, Love Me Do collection was the perfect companion for this image.  My intent for the yellow scallop circle was to mimic a sun.    

That's all I have today ladies.  Sorry for such a short post.   I'm catching a nasty cold and my head feels like it's in a vice.  I just want to crawl back into bed for a week!    But I can't just yet.  I have a whole day of work ahead of me, then maybe I can get some rest tonight.   Hopefully it doesn't take my mojo down with me this weekend.  Cause I need to stamp!!!

It's okay.... and an ENABLER alert!!

My first day on the new job went well.  Isn't there some rule that they have to be nice to you on the first day?   I have to admit though I truly missed my little one.  I actually cried yesterday morning as I was getting her ready for school.  You would've thought it was the first time I'd ever been away from her. 

Today's card is appropriate to how I'm feeling.  I keep reminding myself everything will be okay.

 

 

Yes another Pure Innocence image.  This cutie is called My Umbrella.  Michele H. inspired me to use this image as well as my new My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary paper.  Notice anything else new?  I splurged and picked up the new Spellbinders Big Scalloped Borderabilities® Petite at my LSS on sale!

I added some diamond glaze (my new favorite thing) to her raincoat and boots.  Obviously a little too much cause it ended up cracking when it dried.    Oh well. I paper pieced the umbrella and added some Stickles because everything is better when it's glittered, right?

A Little Love.....

Does it get any better than this?? I'm posting today's card from my phone!!! Yes girls I have finally caught up with the technological times. LOL! Well actually I'm trying to multi task. I'm waiting for the bank to open and thought I'd make the most out of my waiting time. Yesterday I was lucky enough to hang out with my good friend Michele H. (waving *HI*) After a quick little trip to the LSS, we went back to my house to play with our new stamps and what not. We've both fallen in love with the new Pure Innocence images from My Favorite Things. They are so stinkin' cute. I wanted to get my card done quickly, so what do you do when your time is limited? Use a sketch!!

I was feeling the pink & light blue color combo again.  I hope you guys don't get sick of how much I love pink.  *grin*  I used Taylor's last sketch for my starting off point.  I pulled out MME Penny Lane Whirlybird paper (again) to use as well.  I'm definitely getting my monies worth out of this stuff!!  And with Michele's help (happy face), I'm really happy with they way my card came out. 

Now a question for all my readers (all 4 of you!)...... 1.)  should I open an Etsy store to sell my cards? 2.)  Do you think people will buy them?  Okay, that was 2 questions.  I've had a few people tell me that I should, including one of my DD friends.  (hee-hee)  My stash is growing and I thought I'd poll you guys before I put all of the work into doing this.

I can't wait to hear from you!!!

Sweet Sunday...

It's not Sunday you may be saying to yourself.  It's Wednesday.  But I'm playing along (finally) with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch!  I've been wanting to play along with her sketch's for weeks now.  And today I was able to play!!

Here's my card:

I have to thank dear Lindsay M. for my having to have this stamp.  It's one of the newest from Memory Box.  As soon as I saw THIS card by Lindsay I knew I needed to buy this stamp as soon as possible.  I was pressed for time this morning since DD had a half day today.  Having a time limit actually worked to my advantage.  I made two cards!  I'll show you tomorrow's with Sketchy Thursday. 

For today's card, I chose kraft for my base.  I love how red & pink looked with it so I colored the heart flowers to match.  I drenched them with some Stardust Stickles and added a little sheer ribbon from A Muse to make it look like a bouquet.

I couldn't resist using my new MS heart border punch again.  It's been a fixture on my desk since I got it.   I also spritzed a quick hit to the center of the image with my Copic airbrush and BG10 Cool Shadow.

I tried to keep it pretty simple. I really liked this sketch a lot and will be adding it to my favorites.  So you may see it again. *wink*

Good morning & Happy Monday!  I had mixed feelings about writing "Happy Monday", but you know I'm healthy, have a roof over my head, a job and a wonderful family.  So it is a happy day and I have much to be grateful for. 

There's a quote I often see on some of the Goodwill stations, that says "Giving People a Chance to Hate Monday's".  I love that.

I also love today's card.  It was inspired by the fabulous Jen del Muro. Every Saturday Jen comes up with a new sketch called SFYTT (sketch for you to try) and I was so happy to be able to play along.   Jen has been making SOOOOO many great cards using her Bella stamps that I just had to ink up this Huggabugg that I got with my last Stamping Bella order.

My DD came in while I was making this card and she was in awe of the whole concept of paper piecing.  So I taught her how to do it and she loved it.  I need to take a picture of her Huggabugg and post it.  She doused it with stickles so we neded to wait for it to dry.
