Let's Get Fancy

Happy Hump Day!! 

Sorry if I'm a little giddy.  I'm just so happy to be posting.  It feels like it's been awhile since I had a moment to sit down and stamp.  I'm really sit down and stamp.  You know, the kind where you're not interrupted a half dozen times!!

Today I'm here to share with you a card I made for the current theme on the ATS Challenge blog - FANCY FOLDS.  Having never done anything outside my comfort zone of card creations, I decided to embrace the fear and go for it. 

Here's my take on a Center Step Card.  Let me just say that the tutorial on Splitcoast was EXCELLENT!!! 

I used a few of my favorite products from All That Scraps to help me create my card.  Since I didn't get a chance to play with any of the new stamps for Feburary's release I knew this was my opportunity to do that.  This beautiful Swiss Pixie is called Nymph Lucy.  As I was coloring her, I had visions of her in a meadow of beautiful spring flowers with lots & lots of butterflies.  Light bulb!  I pulled out my small butterfly die from ATS.  Two dies are included when you purchase it.  A larger one and this one.  I accented the body with different colored pearls for a little pop.

Given that this was my first attempt at fancy folds, I didn't put a lot of pressure on myself.  So I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.  What do yo think?

Oh, Tracy, this is wonderful ! I've never done a step card either but this is the third one I' ve seen this week from blogland friends and I'm beginning to think it's time to try one. Maybe the challenge at ATS will be enough to push me into doing it. It may not be as gorgeous as this one you did, but..... Great incentive! Thanks.
