Good Morning friends of TE!!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and even better Mother's Day.   I technically had the day off.  The best present I could ever wish for.  Like I told a friend, Mother's Day should be celebrated for an entire week, not just a day.  (hee-hee)

Today we are celebrating the release of the newest Key Ingredients Kit and coordinating Stamp of the Month.   Just when I think these sets can't get any cuter Taylor blows me away with the off the charts cuteness with this months set.  It's appropriately called, Cutie Pie.  There are so many possibilities with this set and it coordinates perfectly with the patterned paper pad, Echo Park's Sweet Girl, in this months KI kit!

As soon as I saw this image, I had thought of the paper dolls I played with as a child.  Does anyone else remember playing with those?   Or am I dating myself?  **grin**  I used to LOVE playing with them.  I pulled some of the fun bright colors in this paper collection to paper piece the dresses.  These papers are so girly and right up my alley.   Very little coloring on this baby.  Interested in subscribing?  Details of the various subscriptions can be found over at the store HERE.

May Key Ingredients Kit

BLD Spotlight - Sugar Sticks Derby Girl

Hello everyone!  Did you all survive tax day yesterday?  I knew we were going to owe so I wasn't in a terrible hurry to get ours done.  I started on Friday and was so frustrated after 5-6 hours that I let it put a damper on my mood the rest of the day.  I told myself not to stress and just tackle it on Saturday.  Let's just say it didn't go any better.    I did manage to complete them yesterday and am just grateful to be done with them already.   In between my tax frustration I made sure to get some much needed stamping therapy in!  BLD to the rescue!

Oh shoot! - SSSC182

Hi there blogging friends!  I hope my post finds everyone doing great.  I've been down with a terrible cold and just as I was feeling better, got some double whammy bad news.   I'm hoping today is less of an emotional roller-coaster.  On the bright side it is time for a new fabby sketch from the ubber talented Karen Giron!  I live for these new sketches.  It means I get to play with my new stamping toys.  Hey, don't we all need a *good* reason to keep buying stuff!  HA-HA!  I recently picked up a few new things from Taylored Expressions -  Oh Snap stamp set and the coordinating camera die, flim strip border and instant photo frames.  Just a small order.  LOL!   I had also purchased some new paper pads from MarkerPOP.  I used some Teresa Collins Memories paper for this card.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the colors in this collection.  I made a slice with my exacto knife and tucked my sentiment "Oh Snap!" inside the camera to make it look like it was coming out like a real Polaroid.

April Stamp of the Month!

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well and having a good week.  I am so thrilled I get to finally share this months Key Ingredient kit as well as the new Stamp of the Month!  And trust me you are going to F*L*I*P* for them both!  Just take a look at these images?! The possibilities are endless.   And how about these amazing colors?  As you may recall, last month Taylor debuted the redesigned KI kits which feature the option of adding a Stamp of the Month to your kit. You can find out more details over at the store HERE.

I have two projects to share with you today featuring the SOTM and the coordinating Key Ingredients kit!  

 For my first card I started with Choice Buttercream card stock for my base, layered with some blackbird card stock.  All of the fabulous patterned paper is from Fancy Pants Park Bench collection.  I absolutely love these colors.  The hints of black really make everything else pop.  You may notice a new die used on this card too.  There is a coordinating die you can purchase separately to go with the SOTM - it's called Simple Tabs.

For my second card, I followed a Mojo Monday Sketch #281 for my layout.  The bright color of this rain card stock and fun patterns made the perfect recipe for this sketch.  I love how crisp Taylor's images stamp.  I used some tempting turquoise from (SU!) for for the CONGRATS! sentiment.  I forgotten how much I love that color!  The flower and vine were also stamped onto Choice Buttercream card stock before I fussy cut them.

More KI & Stamp of the Month samples

Good Morning!!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.  We had a little bit of a down pour last night and earlier today.  But I don't mind one bit.  It's all part of spring and I love it!  I just wish I could stay home and curl up with my DVR to watch Season 3 of Downton Abbey.  I recently discovered it and I AM ADDICTED!  Love that show.  Another thing I'm addicted to is my Key Ingredients Kits!  Today I have not one, but two cards to share with you. 

For my first card I used Jen Shults Deconstructed Sketch #90.  I was a little intimidated at first, but after cutting out all of my pieces of paper and assembling them, I was instantly in love.  In addition to the papers in my KI kit, I used my new elegant butterfly overlays dies from TE.  Of course I couldn't resist adding my favorite embellishment - pearls for a little something extra.  Between having my papers all perfectly selected for me and a brilliant sketch, this card came together in minutes.  It also helps that I didn't have anything to color.  **blush**  I love when that does happen.

For my second sample I went for another simple layout.  I cut two panels using label stacklets 2.  The first one is of a dark grey card stock and the second is one of the prints from MME.  It's hard to tell in the photograph, but I did stamp in light pink a vine on the green polka dotted print.  For my butterfly, I stamped it onto choice butter cream using london fog Memento Ink.  I then cut it out using the coordinating Make it Memorable dies.  I dusted some pink chalk over the open spaces before added some pink pearls.

For today's card I've incorporated the STOM with my Key Ingredients kit.  I absolutely LOVE the paper pad included in this months kit - My Minds Eye Collectable -Memorable.  The colors are just gorgeous.  And this stamp set coordinates perfectly with it.

SSSC179 - Just a Note

Hey peeps!  How is everyone?  I've got another fun post to share with you today.  It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch and this baby was designed by fellow team mate Vicki Burdick.  Go Vicki!  I absolutely *adore* this sketch.  It has 3 of my favorite elements - circle, bow & fishtails!!  What more could a girl ask for.  LOL!  I've become completely obessed with this new paper pad from MME's Collectible Collection - Memorable.  Love, love, love it!  When I pulled the papers I wanted to work with I had a vision of this flower image from TE's Oh What a Day stamp set.  This patterned paper lends itself perfectly to MFT's natural card stock.   I just love the way these flowers came out.  I used R81, R83 & R85 for the petals.  I recently picked up Taylor's 

Many Mini's Occassions and coordinating dies.  I stamped Just a Note on to a scrap of the natural cardstock using a flower shaped die.  Sooo cute!

Just sitting here thinking about you

Hello everyone and Happy Monday!!  It feels good to be back home and to a routine.  We just got back from Lake Tahoe and unfortunately we got some bad news while we were there.   A dear friend passed away early Saturday morning.   We were hopeful it wouldn't have come to that, but his poor body had just enough.   If I could ask everyone to send some love and prayers to his family I would really appreciate it. 

I do have a happy little card to share with you today featuring the fabulous Key Ingredients kit.

 

I started by stamping this cute sitting frog image from Oh What a Day set onto Copic X-Press It paper.  The image and sentiment are separate, but I placed them both on the same block so I could line them up together.  After he was all colored I cut him out using Label Stacklets 2 and sponged the edges with some antique linen distress ink.  The layout is really simple only using 2 sheets of the patterned paper from My Mind's Eye's Meadowlark collection, which is included in this months kit.  For a  complete list of items I used, I have them listed at the bottom of this post.  Before I sign off, I wanted to let you guys know that there are some REALLY exciting changes coming to the Key Ingredients collection next month!  Stay tuned....

Key Ingredients Love Bugs

Hi gang!  I'm back with a little more love to share with you featuring this month's key ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions.  I was so excited to finally get my hands on this Love Bugs set (with coordinating die) in time to use with this months kit.  It  sold out when it came out last month almost immediately when it was released!

Again, I was initially terrified to used black & white patterned paper for my inspiration, but with the bright ribbon and card stock base, it quickly put my fears to rest.  I stamped the bugs on to Copic X-press It paper and colored it with various colors coordinating colors.  If you've never tried this paper for coloring I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.  I absolutely love it.  I'm by no means Copic certified, but if you want to look like you are,  this paper will help!!  (hee-hee)  It takes the effort out of trying to blend your colors for you.

It also helps build your confidence with your coloring.  And dont' forget, practice helps!  When I feel like my mojo just isn't there, I will sit and just color images for fun.  The "kisses 5 cents" was handwritten with a Copic multi-liner pen.  For the wings I added some Smooch Glitz to the wings for a bit of sparkle and for their glowing bottoms I used some pearlescent chalks.
