I am so happy I'm able to post this.  His wish was to be able to live to see his 60th birthday - 11/11/11.

Please continue to send him your prayers.  Dad was admited to hospice yesterday afternoon.  We are in the final stages of this dreaded disease.  He is comfortable for now.  It just breaks my heart that he will never be coming home.

I'm a favorite find!!!

Hey gang!

I don't have anything new to share with you today.  I gave myself the weekend off (my only time to stamp) to do family stuff.  It was GREAT!  I need to give myself permission to do that more.  *wink*

I just wanted share something exciting.  It really made my day.  While doing my morning blurfing (blog surfing) I noticed that My Favorite Things featured my Merry Latte card on their weekly "Favorite Finds"  Yes I'm tooting my own horn.  LOL!!

I'm a friend!!

What an awesome way to start this hump-day! 

Have you guys checked out today's post over at the Claudia & Company blog??  I was dying when I got an email from *the* Lori Boyd yesterday telling me she liked my Emma Puddle Jumper card from Monday's post and would be featuring it as a Friend of Claudia & Company.  Thank you Lori!!!  I am beyond honored.

A trip to the snow.....

Are you all enjoying the peeks?  The DT has ROCKED these releases.  In case you missed yesterday's you'll want to click ---> HERE <---  Diane Zechman aka Cookie Crumbs designed a must have set called Valentine Critters.  There are so many images to play with.  And is the perfect set to make some Valentines' for the kiddos!

Did everyone have a good New Year's?  This is what we did on New Year's Day....

Claudia had never seen or been to the snow.  So some friends decided to do a mini-reunion and do a snow day with the little ones.  This was the only shot I got, cause as soon as we got to the top Claudia got so scared she wanted to leave.  DH and I were so stressed out.  After driving fo 3+ hours DH and I were about to lose it.  And we did.  Unfortunately on each other.  Poor Claudia.  She doesn't like it when Mommy & Daddy argue.  We were able to get a full refund from the snow place and were back on the road in about 40 minutes.  I never did get to meet up with my friends and their families. 

DH & I finally calmed down and tried to explain to Claudia we weren't mad at her, but the "situation".  We don't want her to be afraid of the snow, cause we all know it's a lot of fun.  So we promised to take her again real soon.  So much for trying to get the family together for some fun.  I wanted to die.

So we basically spent our New Year's day in the car driving.  I tell you 7 hours was enough for me.  I don't plan on driving at all until Monday!  
I really hate when things don't go as I planned.  Makes me feel just awful.  Hopefully next time it will go better.

You win some, you lose some.....

It's the beginning of a new week and it's not starting off quite like I hoped it would. 

First I found out that the insurance company has denied our claim for Kitty Bones.  They have fought us every step of the way on it, which I had suspected.  Nothing is ever easy when getting someone else to pay!    I plan on appealing it.  Already have a call into the vet to help. 

And as you may have already read on Taylor's blog I wasn't selected to be on the Sketch Crew.  I am beyond bummed about it.    Even though there were so many awesome entries by the others, I still thought I had a pretty good chance.

I was however pleasantly surprised to see that one of my cards was chosen for something new Taylor has started with her weekly sketch challenges.  My snowman cuppie card is one of this week's Top Crops.  Thanks Taylor & the sketch crew!!!

As it is with my personality I'm trying REAL hard to find the silver lining in it all.  Not always easy to do when thing don't go the way you had hoped. 

1.)  Kitty Bones is still with us.    What could be more important than that?  I thank God everyday for that.  And more importantly she is as healthy as ever!  I wouldn't have changed a thing as far as her treatment goes.

2.)  Even though I didn't make the sketch crew, I am reminded why I stamp and blog.  Because I just plain 'ol LOVE it.  Pure & simple.  Everything else is icing on the cake, right?! 

My mojo took a little hit this past weekend so I don't have anything to show you today guys.  Sorry.

Release Party Tonight

Better late than never I always say.  But I wanted to remind everyone that tonights the night.  October releases from All That Scraps!  There will be a little pre-release party happening over on the ATS message board tonight at 8:00 EST.  That's 5:00 for us west coast gals!  You can come mingle with us HERE.  We have a lot of fun.  Sometime we even start talking about things non-stamping releated!  Say what?  Yep.  Like reality TV and my favorite anything Twilight related!

I also wanted to *enable* my fellow stamping buddies to a new stamp line....

My fellow DT sister, Kimmie Reid has taken the leap in the world of rubber in a new way.   That's right, she's launched her own company!  And these babies are TOOO CUTE!!  Check out Kimmie's store HERE.  I think it's so awesome that she had a dream and visualized it into reality.  Yay Kimmie!!

 

All That Scraps will also be carrying Kimmie's new stamps.  Gotta run and get ready for the party. 

So very blessed.....

You guys are just amazing.  I can't thank you all enough for the outpouring of support I've received from several of you regarding Kitty Bones.  I am truly, truly blessed to have such amazing cy-ber-friends.  I LOVE you guys!!!   You will all be happy to know that she came home last night!   While she is not out of the woods yet, her fever has come down and she is eating on her own again.  I can't tell you how wonderful it was to have her back home and sleeping on our bed again!! 

Her platelet count is still very low, which means her blood will not clot.  The antibiotics she is on will hopefully help with that.  I take her back in on Friday for them to check the count again.  All of her x-rays came out great.  No cancer or tumors.  They suspect this to be viral or possibly an infection from a tick bite.  But nothing definite yet on the cause.

The good news continues though.  I didn't realize until yesterday, that I have kitty insurance on Bones.  When I adopted Jinxy it was already included as part of her microchip and when I called to update Jinxy's owner info to mine, they linked my microchip for Bones and Harley (our other fur baby) up and I bought the coverage for them too.  Soooooo Bones' little I.C.U. visit is going to be covered by the insurance!  We're only responsible for our small deductible.    I had completely spaced that I had purchased this. 

With all of this good juju going around I've decided to extend our Sketchy Thursday #52 celebration for another week!  That's right, entries will be open until Wed. 9/23, with the winner being announced on Sept. 24th (my birthday!!!)  I will be posting a bonus sketch tomorrow so you guys can play with something new.  K?

Thank you again you guys.  Your support is so heartfelt and I couldn't be luckier to have such amazing friends.  Continue to keep Bones in your thoughts until we get a clean bill of health.

To all of you......

Checking In

Hi Gang,

Just wanted to pop in to let you know that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth.  It just feels like I have.  We have been dealing with something with one of our kitties.  She is still in the I.C.U. and has been since Saturday.  Kitty Bones has been the queen of our house for the past 12 years and never given us a moment's grief with anything.  Of all our furry ones, she is the one I worry least about.  She is very street smart and can take care of herself.  I've seen her scare dogs away! 

Any who.... last Thursday night my husband couldn't get her to come in.  He finally gave up around 12:30.  I couldn't, because the last time one of our babes didn't come home it wasn't a good thing.  So I went out every few hours calling for her, but nothing.  Now mind you while she does like to be outside, she definitely prefers to be indoors.  I've seen her in the same spot on my bed from the time I leave in the morning until I come home around 6:00 pm! 

Well by the next morning I was a basket case.  I drove around the block a few times fearing the worst.  But nothing.  So when I got to work I called my mom and she was sweet enough to drive down to our house (about a 1/2 drive) without me even asking to look for Bones.  She called me a little after 9:00 am to tell me she had found her.  She was curled up underneath one of our rose bushes in the front yard.  That didn't sound good.  So I raced home immediately.  When I got there she was still curled up and didn't even look up.  I was hesitant to move her in case she was hurt, but I had to get her.  She was not happy when I picked her up she growled and hissed.  When I brought her inside I checked her for any injuries and sighed a huge sigh of relief not to find any.  So I went back to work to let her get some rest. Even though my gut told me something was off about her.

When I got home after work it was clear that my gut was right.  She was still very lethargic and continued to growl and hiss.  I couldn't get her to eat either.  I brought her to the vet the next day to find she had a fever of 105!  They took some blood and gave her some fluids because she was a little dehydrated, antibiotics and sent us home.  She was okay for a for a few hours and then she was out of sorts again. 

I called the vet in the morning and they had be bring her back in.  And she has been there since.  They have still not been able to determine what is going on.  Ultrasounds & X-rays don't show anything.  Despite what's going on her insides look good.  Yet she continues to have a fever and will not eat.  I went to see her last night after work and she didn't look too good.  Granted she had an e-collar on (that cone thingy so she won't pull out her I.V.) and they had just finished force feeding her. 

We need some serious prayers.  We are at $1,200 in costs with no answers.  We have no clue how we're going to pay for any of this, but we just want our baby well and home. 

I may not be back on line until Thursday.  We are making good progress on the Sketchy Thursday #52 celebration.  Keep up the good work gals.  I've got that prize just burning a whole in my pocket.

Please keep us & Kitty Bones in your thoughts & prayers ladies.  For those of you that know me, our kitties ARE our furry children.  They mean the world to us.

Look Ma!

Well we had some excitement at our house this weekend.  My little one lost her first tooth.  She was beyond excited.   She has waited so long for this to happen.  Last year in Kindergarten the teacher had the cutest little 'tooth tally' board.  Claudia longed to be on it all year.  Well good things come to those that wait. 

 

When I told her to put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy  I mentioned that if we were lucky we might even see some of the fairy dust from her.  She was so cute, she asked me what would happen to her if she touches the dust!  So before she woke up the next morning I grabbed some of my dazzling diamonds and brushed it on her pillow.  She was super excited and said, "Mommy this must have been were she walked on my pillow."  Gotta enjoy these moments while I can.  I'm sure it won't be long before one of her friends tells her the truth.
