What's not happy about this cutie?   I'm still smiling at this card.  Does it make you smile too?  This is one of the few images I have from BLD in rubber.  Yep they did come in rubber ages ago.  LORi still has several of them on hand if your interested.  See this post for more details.   I picked up the newest Blueprints from MFT for Mother's Day.  Yes I bought myself a little something.  A girls got to do what a girls got to do.  The scallop, detailed strip and flower were all dies from the Blueprints 3.  The blueprint is for a square card, but as you can see, the dies are all interchangeable to suit your style.

Hey, Sassy Pants - BLD Spotlight

Little Beans Olive

 

Isn't this Little Bean just precious?  This was my first time coloring up this adorable image from BLD.  When searching for the right sentiment that would do her justice, I chose this one from MFT - Pure Innocence Cute-a-tude. I mean they were made for each other, especially with the way Olive's mouth is open like she's talking!  I also tried something new on this layout... kraft on kraft.  I usually have a different color card base from my first layer.  But I've seen several of my favorite designers do this and I thought I'd give it a try.  I ALWAYS like what I see other crafters do and think to myself, why didn't I think of that.  Does that ever happen to you?  And if so, do you try out something new that maybe you hadn't done before?

By the way, I know I haven't been consistent about this, but my blog is about to turn (wait for it) SIX YEARS OLD this month!  That's right!  I've been at this for too long.  LOL!  Anyway, I'm going to be having a blogversary give away.

Happy Happy Wednesday peeps!  I hope you are having a fabulous week.  Mine is just zipping on by.  Lots on my plate at work and home these days, which always makes time fly by.  Luckily I have stamping as my mental and physical therapy!  Today I'm featuring one of the new images from the May release from All That Scraps.  You can view all the new images/dies from the May release HERE. 

This cutie is May Day Birgitta.   I love coloring the Swiss Pixies red heads, because they just look so darn cute!  I use the following Copics when coloring my red heads - YR14, E09, YR18 & E57 (in that order).  I used more paper from my May Key Ingredients Kit.  Patterned paper is from Echo Park's Sweet Girl collection.  The dies I used for my flowers and vine are from MFT.

Good Morning!! Is it just me or is anyone else wondering where in the world the sunshine went?  We had temps in the 90's this weekend and today it's doom and gloom.  (insert sad face).  I don't do well with the heat, but I think it's better than the later.  I've heard that some people can be really affected by the weather.  And I'm starting to think I may be one of them.  To help brighten my day, BLD to the rescue. 

I know you've heard me say this like a million times, but this cutie is one of my all time BLD favorites.   Yep one of my definite top 5's! LOL!  I paired her with some of patterned paper from EP - Sweet Girl and MFT Blueprints.

Sending Smiles - SSSC183

Hello there!  Are you ready for some sweetness and a little smile?  Add that and one fantabulous sketch, courtesy of Karen Giron, and you've got the recipe for success.  

I've fallen completely in love with these new Doodle Garden images from MFT.  Just when you think you just about seen it all, a new artist comes along and just captivates us.   And that's what Jennifer Nilsson did to me.   You may have seen her new designs over at My Favorite Things.  If not, be sure to check them out.  They are CUTE, CUTE, CUTE!  I'll be the first to admit, I do like images I can color.  I don't do as well with images that need no coloring.  It's just not in my comfort zone.  But I'm trying to challenge myself little by little.  This Doodle is called Sweet Garden.  I borrowed the sentiment from another DG set, called Springtime Wishes.  I love the font too.  I used some scraps I had from one of my many Key Ingredients kits from TE.  I stayed pretty true to the sketch.  After I colored my DG in, I paper pieced her with some coordinating print and fussy cut her.  Ain't she a doll?

Are you ready for a little spring fling?  I can't help but smile from ear to ear when I look at this cutie.   I printed PJ Maxie out onto my Choice Snow White card stock from Taylored Expressions.  This is my preferred paper for printing out digital images.  The ink from my printer (HP Photosmart) doesn't run or smear when I color my images and it blends my Copics well.  If you've followed my blog for any amount of time, then you will know I tend to color my images before I select my layout and papers.   So when I colored Maxie up with green & yellow I must have had Doodlebug's Fruit Stand patterened paper in mind.  Cause these are not my typical go to colors.

All That Scraps April Release!

Good Morning!!  Did everyone have a nice Easter?  We ended up going over to a friends to do a Easter egg hunt.  DD smoked the other kiddos, hands down.  She scooped up more than half of the eggs there.  Now if I can just keep her and my husband from eating all the goodies inside them I'd be okay.  LOL! 

When I got home I whipped up this little cutie.  One of the new Tumbleweeds called Lipstick.   I paired her up with my latest obsession, Die-namics Blueprints 1.  I used one of the many layouts you can create with these dies. 

I stamped her onto Copic X-press It card stock.  After coloring her with Copics I fussy cut her and added some liquid pearls to her necklace and some glaze to her lipstick.  All of my patterned papers are from Echo Park's Sweet Girl collection.  The colors are *super* fun and bright.  I'll admit they were a little out of my comfort zone, but having a layout already in mind, thanks to my Die-namics Blueprints, I was able to put this card together in no time.

Let's Celebrate - SSSC181

Happy Easter Everyone!  Just when I started getting used to the time change, Easter came early!  LOL!  I was completely unprepared for my annual egg hunt.  Good thing my family had back up plans.  I hope that didn't happen to any of you.  Like many of the holidays, I like having everyone come to me.  Yes it's a bit more work to prep, entertain then clean up the house you cleaned BEFORE everyone comes by, but I really do enjoy it!  So I guess it's okay I'm taking this one off.  I did manage to throw a little something together for my DD. I made the mistake thinking she was getting too old to want to do an egg hunt.  Well she set me straight.  LOL!

So enough of my ramblings.... you guys want to see Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch.  Don't you just love it?  It has a tilted panel.  SCORE!  

 

 

In my last MFT order, I was lucky enough to pick up the Triple Scoop set, birthday sentiments FREE.  And as soon as I saw this weeks sketch I knew these two had to meet.  The hardest part was selecting *which* sentiment to use since there are so many fabulous ones this set.  I paired the celebration sentiment with soft girly colors from MME's Happy Days paper.  And just to be sure the sentiment was center stage, I added some diamond Stickles to the letters.

BLD Spotlight - Somebunny loves you

Hello everyone!  I must apologize for my absence. I've been meaning to get to this post everyday, but some other "fire" seemed to need my attention first.  LOL!  Ah you gals, know what I mean!  I have a little Easter inspiration to share with you today. 

I used one of my favorite Puddle Jumper images from last year - PJ Darla & Bunny.

  

I used several new goodies on today's card.  Can we say shop/hoard much?!  LOL!   It's my only true vice.  Have you guys discovered the new Die-namics Blueprints from My Favorite Things?  If you haven't YOU MUST check them out.  I used four of the dies on this card.  These truly are the bees knees!   The are the perfect tool for all levels of crafters.  You get 10 different dies to create dozens of card layouts.  I can't wait to see what the next set offers.

Also in keeping up with my paper obsession, the patterned papers are from Echo Park's Sweet Girl collection.  These papers are perfect for spring.  Bright and very happy.  I found this flower button in my secret stash and decided I could part with it.  The twine I used is also new and from MFT.  It's another must have.  It's strong and feels like butter, just not as messy!

Cute as a Button - SSSC180

Hey there stamping friends.  How is everyone's weekend going?  I must have a bit of spring fever cause I was in full spring cleaning mode today.  I cleaned one of the "dreaded" closets.  You know the one.... everything that doesn't have place ends up there.  Ugh!  It was long overdue but it felt good to do it.  I have to admit, I thought I hoarded stamping stuff.... well let me confess here and now, I hoard scrapbooking stuff too.  Oh vey!  I need help.  LOL!

One thing I needed no help with is inspiration to play along with Karen's latest Sweet Sunday Sketch.  I recently picked up this new Pure Innocence image, Cute as a Button.  I paired her with some of my left over patterned paper from Jillbean Soup.  I started with a cream base layered with some dark blue.  This color combo is very different for me.  But I think I likey!  Anyone spot the really old SU! border punch I used on the bottom?  I have to pat myself on the back for using something I already had!  LOL!
