I broke out my new Basic Grey Hopscotch pad for my card, which also happens to be on sale right now at Claudia & Co. for $5.40!  And boy do I LOVE it.  The pastel colors are my favorites to work with.  Do you every make a card and just fall in love with it the more it evolves?  That's how I felt about this one.  I mean Mary Jane is cute enough to stand on her own, but the sentiment and heart/button accent really pulled it together for me.  ♥ this one!!

Claudia & Company Blog Hop

 

Some one pinch me.  I can't believe I'm posting for February already.  It's a bitter sweet one at that.  This is my last month designing for Claudia & Co.   My term as a designer is up.  So you know I have to go out with a BANG!   If you are following along on the hop, you should have arrived here from the Claudia & Co. blog.  If not, you will want to start there.

I couldn't wait to show you these new images too.  LORi Boyd has wowed us again with her adorable, must have Puddle Jumpers.  This is Charlotte.  I just love her hair do.  It reminds me of my mom - in a good way!  ♥

Charlotte wouldn't be complete with out her other half.  This handsome guy is Ezra.  Can you guess what my favorite thing is about this image?  Well I love Ezra of course, but this little bunny just makes my heart melt.   I used some patterned paper from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop collection for my layout.  These colors had a real springy feel to it.  What do you think?
 

And for my finale a new image from artist John Grutta.  Doesn't it just scream "spring is here!!"  Coloring this one in really had me wanting to start decorating Easter eggs!  I chose a color combination of my other two cards - purple & green.  This time I used some paper from Cosmo Cricket's Pixie-Licious collection.

Claudia & Co. Special Release

 

 
Happy Friday!!!  The only thing better than it being Friday, is a new stamp release!  Joining the Claudia & Co. line of artists is John Grutta.  Each of snippets above are the images being released today.  Aren't they CUTE?!!!

I got to play with the flower vase & heart balloons.  I so love this image.  It reminds me of my college sweetheart and one of our first Valentine's Day's together.  He sent me something every hour on the hour at work that day; which included roses and heart balloons that looked just like this!   

 

I used some Basic Grey Sugar Rush paper.  The black cardstock base makes the colors really POP.  I kept the layout simple to keep the focus on this fun image.  Because it's a digital image I was able to chose how big (or small) I wanted to make it. 

Here's a close up of the balloons.  I ran my red Spica pen over it to give it some shimmer!

Claudia & Co. January Blog Hop

 
Woot-woot!  It's time to get your Puddle Jumpers on!  Today we are hopping around for this month's Claudia & Company release.  Hopefully you arrived here from Krista's blog, if not you will need to start at the beginning of the hop >HERE<  

The wonderful & amazing LORi Boyd has drawn 2 more cuties to join the bunch.

 
 

First up is the adorable Mary Jane.  I couldn't help but think of my DD as I colored her.  She reminds me so much of her.   I used some older paper from Bo Bunny's Sweetie Pie collection as my color inspiration.  I really do like the look of black & pink with a hint of green.  I added the xoxo to the heart for fun.  The sentiment is not part of the stamp, that came from one of my TE sets - Love is Sweet.  I just couldn't resist using it for this cutie.

 

 
Next up is the dashing Todd.  It looks to me like  he already has his sights set on his valentine.  Hummm.... wonder if it's Mary Jane?  I love that this image comes with a sweet valentine for you to play with.  As you can see I cut mine out and placed it in his hand.  I used some more older stuff - this time from My Mind's Eye Love Me Do Collection.  I love the non-traditional colors of this collection and it was perfect for a boyish card.  The sentiment is from AmyR's - All About Love set.  I love the font!

There's more eye candy to be seen.  Your next stop on this love filled hop is Kadie!!  Tell her I said "Hi!"

Claudia & Co. Challenge - Spotlight

 
 

Spotlight Challenge

(Using the Spotlight technique...spotlight a portion of your card)

 

Happy Friday peeps!  Are you ready for a SUPER fun new technique?  I had never heard of a spotlight challenge before.  Maybe you guys have.     Once I saw a sample of what a spotlight was I was eager to try it out.  It was easy to decide on which Puddle Jumper I wanted to use - Winter Ella and her adorable sick kick!

My friend Jodi Collins has been using this purple color scheme on several of her cards.  I just loved it so much I wanted to try it myself.  Cardstock and ribbon are from PaperTrey Ink and patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather.  I used the same layout for this card as I did for my Merry Latte card. 

Here's a close up of my spotlight.  As you can see I used another stamped image of my little penguin.  I simply punched it out with a circle punch and used a pop up square to give him a lift from the main image panel.  I used my glaze pen on him and Ella's boots for added dimension.   Some icicle Stickles and Sparkle Fluff for my snow.

Claudia & Co. Challenge

 
 
Happy Friday!  And welcome to this month's Claudia & Co. challenge.  This month we have a color challenge for you.  Do you like BROWN & CREAM?  Then this challenge will be right up your alley.  And while you're using brown & cream, why not through in another color of your choice while you're at it?

 

 
  

For my card I was inspired again by the beautiful colors from Basic Grey's Jovial collection.  I started with brown card stock for my base, added a layer of cream then added the patterned paper.  There were so many must have, adorable stamps released this month, I almost couldn't decide which one to use.  As you can see my little Party Penguin won out.   Sentiment is from Puddle Jumper Winter Landon's set.

I added some of my favorite Sparkly Fluff, in sugar, for Party's hat.  It looks fantastic IRL.  To save time making my card, I paper pieced the hat and scarf with some of same matching paper.  DD insisted I used one of her ribbon bows for my card, then simply added a snowflake to the center of the button.  Not sure if you remember, but she & I made a few dozen of these awhile back using a fabulous tutorial from my my friend Tori Wild.  You can check out her tutorial ----> HERE <----  I highly, highly recommend trying it.  You won't be sorry.

Claudia & Co. Winter Blog Hop

Happy Friday and welcome to the Claudia & Co. Winter Release Party!!!  Today I get to show you the last two images in the release.  And they are as cute as the last four you've seen. 

 

First up is Winter Hannah.   She's all bundled up and ready for some snow fun!  I played up the purple for my card which I'm finding out is a fun non-traditional color to use for holiday/winter cards.  I broke out my Echo Park Everybody Loves Christmas paper pack again.  Didn't I tell you this paper was CAAUTEEEEE?!  I have a package of these glittered snowflakes that I find myself turning to again & again.  They are simple really, just punched out with various sized snowflakes and drenched in dazzling diamonds glitter.  I also added some Star Dust Stickles to her polka dots for added dimension. 

   
Up next is the dapper Party Time Noah.  He comes with his own stocking and sentiment.  I adore this little bear almost as much as the bear Landon comes with.  Since I already had out my Echo Park paper, I used reverse sides to make a more masculine card for my little guy & his friend.  Have I mentioned how much I love this paper?  *grin* Does the layout look familiar?  If you said yes, it looks like Sketchy Thursday #107 then you'd be correct!

Claudia & Co. Sneak Peeks - Party Penguin & Winter Landon

Woo-hoo!!!  I get to show you guys a few more of the images from the upcoming release for Claudia & Co.  There will be a total of 6 images released this coming Friday, Nov. 5th. 

Up today is another must have from Jane's Doodles.  He comes complete with a hat and sentiment (which I didn't use :()

 

I picked up this wonderfully whimsical paper from Echo Park with my last order from Die Cuts R Us. It's called Everybody Loves Christmas and it's right up my ally with fantastic color combinations and prints.  If you want a sampler, Claudia has one ready to go in the 6x6 sampler pack section of the store.  I also used more of my red bakers twine.  I hope you guys aren't sick of seeing it yet.  The perfectly matched pearls were from my dear friend Tinla.  Thanks girl!!!!!

 

 

I don't know which one is cuter, Puddle Jumper Landon or his little bear friend!  I just love how his little head is tilted.  It's like he took the time to turn around and pose just for this stamp!  My card came to life all by itself once I selected the patterned paper.  It's from a 12x12 paper pad I picked up last year at M's.  It's from Me & My Big Ideas.  The top of it had the row of winter trees, that I simply cut out and added to the middle of my card.  I do like the green background.  It's different than your traditional blue background with snow falling.

I added some polar white Flower Soft to the "ground" for effect.   And I just had to pull out some favorite (and much neglected) supplies.  Those included my MS icicle border punch, felt snowflakes from Stampin' Up! and a coveted Basic Grey Wassail brad.   Ohhh it feels good to confess to using the old stuff!  LOL!

Sooooo?  Are you guys dying?  Don't you want these cuties?  Well not to worry.  Friday will be here before you know it.  AND there are still 2 more images to show you.  I'll give you 2 hints.  There will be a boy & girl to show you next AND you will want them too!

Claudia & Co. Sneak Peeks - Ella & Piper

Woot-woot!  I'm super excited today.  I finally get to share with you a sneak peek of some of the stamps that will be released soon from Claudia & Co.  LORi Boyd has drawn magic again with her adorable Puddle Jumpers.  Today's peek features Ella & Piper.   The new stamps will be available on Nov. 5th!

 

Now don't get me wrong, I love Ella, but it's her little penguin friend that pulls my heart strings.  Isn't he TOO cute?!  He follows Ella wherever she goes.   I pulled out my stash of MME's Colorful Christmas to play with.  It was opened and hardly touched.  GASP!  I had to correct that right away.   Such a fun paper pack with non-traditional holiday colors.  I added some Stickles to the center of the snowflakes which are also part of the paper pack.   I had some tiny rhinestones that I added to Ella's scarf, because like I always say everything is better with a little bling!  Each stamp set being shown comes with a "friend" and sentiment.

 

And here is Piper.  I just love that name for this cutie.  She looks like a mommy getting ready for the holiday festivities.  I actually colored her first and then decided I needed to pair her with Basic Grey's Jovial paper.  The paper is really beautiful.  Not as whimsical as my first card, but gorgeous.  It also happens to be on sale now too at Die Cuts R Us. And if you're not one to commit to an entire paper pad, Claudia has Jovial available in a sampler pack for $2.75!  I left out the additional image or "friend" for Piper's card.  But she comes with a gift image that is super cute.  You can color it or paper piece it.  You may not be able to see it from this picture, but I colored her dots with clear Spica glitter pen.  It does look really nice IRL.
