Hello stamping friends!   Just popping in on this last day of 2012 to wish everyone a very happy & healthy 2013.   I also have one more sample using the December Key Ingredients kit to share with you.  I couldn't resist using Love Grows Here set for my wintry card.  I stamped my winter tree on Copic X-press It cardstock with tuxedo black Memento ink.  After coloring it up with my Copics, I cut it out with my reverse wonky rectangle nestabilities.  While still in the die, I airbrushed my sky with B41.  I had to add a little sparkly snow.  Icicle stickles to the rescue!!

Make it Merry!!

Ho-Ho-Ho Merry Christmas!!!!   I can't believe today is actually THE day.  It came entirely too quickly.  I am a happy gal today.  I came down with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo Saturday.  It came on as I rolled over in bed at 5:00 a.m.  It was the strangest feeling and very scary.  I've never had it before.  Thank goodness it only lasted 2 days, but if you've ever suffered from it then you know that is 2 days too long. 

So I am VERY thankful to be feeling 100% today.  The kids & grand kids will be here today and I can't wait to see them all.  I've been saving this post just for today.  You've seen the layout before on a BLD post.  But when I started playing with this months KI kit, I knew I had to use it again.  Love this months kit!!   

 

I used the die from the Make it Merry set and Cuppie from Season's Sweetings.  After coloring Cuppie up, I fussy cut him out and propped the image up with dimensionals.  I have to admit I was a bit intimated by this color palette, but it really is beautiful when you put it all together.

A little love before the holidays.....

Happy Friday!  Ohh this week just seemed SOOOOOOOOOOO long!  Maybe it's just because I can't wait for a long holiday week/end!  The funny thing  is, I don't do well with down time.  LOL!!  As much as I complain about being too busy, I probably complain just as much when I'm not.  Geesh!!

I made this card a few weeks back. You may have seen it on the ATS blog during the December release sneak peeks.  If you didn't then this will be a new post for you!!  **grin**

It feels weird creating love/Valentine cards while we are in the midst of the Christmas holiday, but I figured there's red in that holiday too, so I could just wing it.  LOL!   And besides isn't Christmas all about love?  That's probably why it comes before Valentine's Day.  Okay, maybe that was a stretch.  But it sounded good inside my head. 

 

I started with smokey shadow cardstock from PTI and layered it with choice snow white from Taylored Expressions and then patterned paper from MME.  My image is from one of my favorite C.C. Designs sets - Meoples Love is in the Air.  I stamped the image with Memento ink onto Copic X-Press It paper.  If you are looking for a great ink and paper to use with your Copics this is the perfect pair!  I drizzled some glass effects on the "Be Mine" heart.  You can kind of tell from the photo.

A little felt heart with button die and twine to top it off.  Easy peasy.  Don't you wish everything about the holiday was just as easy?  Hee-hee!  Well one can dream, right?  I hope whatever you are doing today you have a little love doing it.  OR A LOT!

BLD Spotlight - Simon Stockingheimer

Don't you just love that name, Simon Stockingheimer?  Hee-hee.  What's not to love about this adorable image from the amazingly talented, LORi Boyd!   I am in absolute awe of this creative genius and did  I mention she is the sweetest person you'll ever meet?  Yep she is!!  Love ya, LORi!!!  My little card is dedicated to her and her wonderful family.  Happy Holidays Boyd Bunch!

I printed Simon out on choice snow white  cardstock from Taylored Expressions, to the size I wanted for my card.  LOVE that about digital images... you can make them itty bitty or humongous!  I colored him up with my beloved Copics and then cut him out using my rectangle Stax dienamics from MFT.  I sponged the edges of my image as well as my patterned paper with antique linen distress ink to give it a worn, vintage look.  All of the gorgeous paper is from Echo Park Season's Greetings paper pad.  I think this was from last year, but it's a great pad to own.  Aren't they all?

Missing You - TE Key Ingredients Kit

Happy Monday!  I'm getting a little excited.  In one week it will be Christmas Eve!!   Is everyone ready?  I feel like a huge weight has been lifted,  as all the shopping was completed yesterday!  Phew!

While the holidays are a time for many to come together, it's also reminds me of those family members I won't get to see this year; at least not in person.   Thank God for Skype!!  I wanted to make a wintery card that wasn't necessarily a Christmasy card.  The fabulous ingredients in this months KI kit to the rescue.   I think I succeeded in creating the card I had in mind with this beauty. 

 

My card is super simple.  Hardly any stamping at all.  I started by cutting out my tree with my Trim the Tree dies and then sponging the edges with white chalk ink to give it a snowy look.  I adhered it to the card base, for which I only used one piece of patterned paper from the We R Memory Keepers Winter Frost paper pad.  I then stamped the sentiment at the bottom with black ink.  I layered the wider blue grosgrain ribbon with some of the shimmery white, also included in the kit!  My favorite has to be these gorgeous Prima rhinestone swirls.  I used them on every card I made with the kit.

SSSC174 - Thanks Snow Much

Brrrrrrr!!  The temps have fallen big time here in the Bay Area.  I love this time of year, but this is tooooo cold.  At least it gives me an excuse to stay in and STAMP!!  And just in time for Karen's latest Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I also found a way to tie in some of the fabby papers from this months Key Ingredients Kit.  Whenever my mojo is lacking, I always turn to one of Karen's sketches and my trusty Key Ingredients kits.  I still had out my favorite set, The Cool Crowd, and thought this image of the three frosty friends was perfect for the sketch.

I colored them up with my Copics on Copic X-press It paper.  I used B000, B0000 & G0000 for the snowmen.  For my snowy hills, I stamped them on some light blue Bazzill card stock, cut them out and lined it up with the snowflake patterned paper.  I fussy cut the snowy friends and tucked them behind the hills.  Aren't they sweet?  I love this set!

A little love bug.....

It seems everywhere you turn someones caught a bug of some sort.  And it's not always the good kind.  In my brief jury duty stint last week, I was fortunate enough to catch one of the other prospective jurors cold. UGH!  Good news - I think I'm on the mend.  LOL!!

I have a different type of bug to share with you today.  Amy Young designed these adorable Love Bugs for this months Sweet November release.  There are a total of 3 images with 3 coordinating sentiments.  They would make the cutest Valentine's for the kiddo's or those a little older.  hee-hee 

 

After stamping the image with Memento ink onto Copic X-press It paper, I colored it up with my beloved Copics.  For the spots and legs I used a black glaze pen to give it a glossy finish.  Amy Y. sent me a bunch of goodies a few months back (thanks again, Amy!) and these fabulous doilies were included.  I thought it would be the perfect touch for my love filled card.

BLD Spotlight - Merry Christmas

Good Morning Everyone!  It literally just dawned on me that I neglected to apologize for my brief M.I.A last week.  I left the ole blog last Tuesday with not a peep.  I was called to Jury Duty!  I thought I'd be able to "call in" most, if not all of the week, like I have in years past.  But this time I was in the court waiting & waiting.  Luckily I was never called, but nonetheless I still had to sit there with several others until the lucky 12 (plus alternates) were selected.

But I'm back and I couldn't be happier.  If you liked last weeks post, you will love this one as well.  I realized I *love* snowmen.  They are so adorable and easy to color!!   I decided to pair my frosty friend with the fabulous papers from this month's Key Ingredients Kit from Taylored Expressions.  In case you missed yesterdays post, scroll down!

I printed the BLDsnowman (sentiment included!) on choice snow white card stock.  I love this paper when printing digi images.  After coloring him up, I cut him out with my classic square Spellbinder Nestabilities.   I love how the blue & greens of the patterned paper, from We R Memory Keepers, makes his red & green scarf just pop.  I added just a dab of silver liquid pearls (also from this months Key Ingredients Kit) to his buttons.  Soooo fun!  Speaking of fun.... head on over to the BLD blog to see what other holiday treats the BLD gals have created for you today!

BLD Spotlight - New Winter Images

Well yesterday's post was about wishing.  If you wished for more new stamping goodies, then you've come to the right place!  LORi surprised the design team last week when she emailed us these new cuties.  Totally adorable, right?

 

I've been having so much fun with snowmen lately, I decided to give the big guy some center stage attention.  I pulled out some of my older holiday paper pads.  This one is from Lily Bee Designs.  I went for a little different color palette using the light blue from the patterned print as my inspiration.  I layered it with red for a little POP of color. 

I used R24, R29 & R89 to color Santa's hat and coat.  I outlined him using BG02, BG01 & BG000.  I debated on whether to use liquid pearls for his beard or fluff.  As you can see, I opted for the liquid pearls.  My card would not have been complete without added a bigger snowflake to the corner.  The larger one is used with coordinating red card stock and the white is made out of felt, topped with a gem!
