Let's Chat - November Key Ingredients Kit

Hi there!  I'm back today with another fun card created with this months Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions.  In case you missed all the goodies included here's a sneaky peek:

 

 

I absolutely fell in love with this wild print from the paper pad included in the kit.  It's from Jillibean Soup - Grandma's Lima Bean Soup.  Don't you just love the names of some of these products?  I'd like to have that job!  Hee-hee. 

I started out with a plain base using choice snow white card stock, then a layer of bright pink card stock, followed by the wacky print.  I tucked in two fishtails before adding my ribbon.  The gorgeous bow was created using my wonderful Bow Easy.  I love that tool!  I then stamped the phone image on Copic X-press It paper and colored it up.  I also drizzled it with some glass effects to make it all shiny and then added a pink gem to the home button.  Soooo fun!

BLD Spotlight - Puddle Jumper Landon

Hello!!!  I hope all of my US friends enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday last week.  It was very nice to unplug from everyday life and just settle in with the family for a few days.  Now it's on to the next month of crazy.  You won't hear me complain too much.  I LOVE Christmas.  I don't particularly like the crowds at the mall, I'll be spending a lot of time taking advantage of on line sales.  Gotta love FREE SHIPPING!

My card today uses the sweet, sweet Landon and his little side kick.  Don't you just love the expression on this bear?   I used a layout that I've posted here before.  It's from THIS post.  Sometimes it's best not to reinvent the wheel.  LOL!  The red & blue is very different for me.  I've been trying to think outside the typical red & green color scheme for my holiday cards.  It helps when you have a good supply of patterned paper to keep you inspired.  Yes, I just said that out loud to justify another recent spending spree of paper pads!  I can't wait to show you what I've done with them too!

I couldn't wait to print this cutie out.  Are these not THE CUTEST?!  I know, I know.  I say that about all of LORi's new images. But seriously, just look at these!

 

 

I recently received my latest TE haul and let me tell you I couldn't wait to play with this die - from Very Merry set.  I added some of Taylor's Tiny Twinkles to each letter for a bit of pop.  I kept the layout simple to keep the focus on Candy Cane Jane using the sentiments to frame her.  I would say these new images will make any crafter's day more merry.  Head on over to the BLD blog to see more of these new kids.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, no?  Actually it started to look like the holidays were upon us before Halloween!  I swear they start earlier and earlier each year.    And each year I feel less and less prepared.  Is anyone else with me?  I'm just trying to take one holiday at a time.  I am happy to report I am ready for Thanksgiving next week.  I'm really looking forward to just spending time with the family and enjoying some much needed down time, which will include stamping.  I may even be so bold to clean my stamp desk!  Gasp!  You know how it is.  You clean it off and just as quick as a blink you end up with a 3x3 working space.  LOL!  

 So what do you think about this fabby new sketch from Karen?  I'll admit I was a little intimidated by this one.  Then I took a deep breath and tried to think outside my comfort zone.  As you can see I took a little liberty by adding my own vertical panel strip of red card stock after running it through my Cuttlebug with my snowflake embossing folder. 

I was scratching my head thinking how am I going to use this sketch with a stamped image?  Then it hit me.  Use dies!  MFT By the Letters to the rescue.  After cutting out some small squares with my classic rectangle nestabilities, I pulled out some glittered card stock I've had in my stash and cut out the letters to spell out NOEL.  It looked a bit naked so I added one of my special snowflakes to the center.

Good Morning!!  I'm up much too early this Thursday morning, but I had to get a jump start on this fine day.  I've actually taken the day off to see the final installment of the Twilight series.  At 11:30 am I will become one with a seat in the theater to watch all FIVE of the Twilight movies.  I CAN'T WAIT!!! 

Had to get up early to be sure to fit in some exercise.  I know I haven't mentioned it here, but in the past 8 months I've lost 35 pounds on Weight Watchers AND just this past weekend finished my first 5k race.  I owe it in part to my wonderful co-workers and friends!! 

 

Here we are after crossing the finish line.  Woot it feels good!  In the middle is Olga or as we all know her OTG and on the right is gorgeous Rebekah.  They are both such inspirations too me.  Love you gals!!!  They'll probably kill me for posting this picture too!  Hee-hee!!

So what does this have to do with today's post.  Well I'm sure you all have friends that you can call on no matter what.  Am I right?  Well we do.  Whether they are our mother, sister, cousin, co-worker.... we have them.  And today's card is dedicated to these two amazing ladies featuring ingredients from this month's KI kit from Taylored Expressions.

 

I stamped this fabulous sentiment panel from the Let's Chat set. I chose it be the focal point of the layout.  The rest pretty much fell into place thanks to Taylor.  Each month she selects just the perfect elements that goes into each kit.  This month's patterned paper is from Jillibean Soup - Grandma's Lima Bean Soup.  How fun does that sound?  Also included is coordinating card stock, ribbon, decorative stick pins and wood buttons, clothespins & bingo chips!  And if that wasn't enough..... it's all delivered right to your door!

BLD Spotlight - PJ Autumn Jacob

Good Morning!!!    Is it just me or is anyone else finding it hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week?  Be it as it may I'm really looking forward to it.  Time to sit back with the family, relax, have some yummy turkey and reflect on all the things we have to be thankful for. 

One of the many things I am thankful for is being part of BLD.  LORi is one of the most talented, generous, amazing women I've had the pleasure of knowing.  Thank you LORi for having me on this amazing team!               

For today's post I used an image from last year's  Autumn Puddle Jumper release.  I used the ubber cute, Puddle Jumper Autumn Jacob.  Once again I used my October Key Ingredients kit featuring patterned papers from Simple Stories Harvest Lane.

After I printed Jacob out I colored him with my Copics.  I used T1, T4, T6 & 100 for his hat & clothes.  The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Thankful set. I sponged the heck out of this card to get a worn feel to my layout.   I just love this paper.  I've just about depleted the entire 6x6 pad! Yikes!!  A big no-no for a paper hoarder like me.  Good thing I picked up a "spare"!  LOL!

TE November Key Ingredients Kit

Yes!  It's the beginning of a new month and you know what that means.  Time for another fabulous Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions!  I was like a kid on Christmas morning when I saw this months kit.  The patterned paper, from Jillibean Soup, is to die for.  And just check out those bits (aka embellishments).  Ohhh I'm a happy gal.  As soon as I saw this paper I immediately thought of the recently released set, Let's Chat.  For some reason the old fashion phones in the set and this paper just screamed for me to pair them together.  Maybe it was also my need to have this set.  **snicker*

What do you think?  Don't they just seem made for each other?  Of course the coordinating Let's Chat dies were a must as well.   To get that shabby chic look, I sponged all of my edges with my favorite Antique Linen Distress ink.    My phone is colored with BG000 & BG01.  I added the rhinestones for a little pop.  Included in this months kit are some fabulous wood buttons - another perfect accent to this kit.

BLD spotlight - Autumn Days

Good Morning!  I hope today's post finds everyone well.  We've had some really beautiful weather here in Northern California the past few days.  While I love the sunshine I am longing for the cooler weather.  Since I can't control Mother Nature, I decided to let my stamping do the talking.  I immediately grabbed this adorable image from BLD Bug & Roo Lexie and paired her with my October Key Ingredients Kit.

I started by printing off my image on to Choice Snow cardstock from Taylored Expressions.  This is by far my favorite cardstock to use when I print digi images.  After coloring Lexie, I fussy cut her out and set her aside.  All of the elements to my card including this yummy linen from Maya Roads is from the KI kit.  The goregous leaves are from the Falling For You die set.  The "autumn days" is actually from the paper pad included in the kit - Simple Stories Harvest Lane.  L*O*V*E this paper!

SSSC171 - Warm Winter Wishes

Boy I'm I enjoying the *extra* hour of sleep today.  This is my favorite time of year and more so because we "fall back" our clocks.   This week was literally a blur with Halloween, work and various school projects DD had going on.  It was nice to sit back and enjoy some new stamping supplies and Karen's latest sketch.  You guys know how much I loves me fishtails!   Since Starbucks already came out with their signature red holiday cups this week, I was already feeling festive; I knew exactly which stamp set I wanted to play with.  Cue, one of Taylor's newest sets - The Cool Crowd.  How cute is this little guy?  I wanted to do something non-traditional and went for pink!  I do love how it all worked out.  All of the paper is from the current Project Pantry kit - Merry & Bright.  Of course I had to add some of my custom made snowflakes.  I'm happy to send you some!  I have larger sizes too.  Just leave me a comment and I will email you back!
