Merry & Bright - More All That Scraps Sneak Peeks

Happy Halloween!    I happen to love this holiday.  Nothing cuter than seeing the little ones all dressed up.  My sister is planning to come over with my niece and nephew to go trick or treating with us.  So much fun!  I'll try to post pictures tomorrow.

I'm back with another All That Scraps Sneak Peek.  I'm so excited about today's post.  Amy Young has created the most adorable images for this release.  I almost couldn't decide which one of six images to play with first.  The adorable Beth ended up winning.

I colored her with Copics on Copic X-press It paper, then fussy cut her out before mounting her on my tag.  All of the patterned paper are from Echo Park's Season's Greetings.  I kept the layout and embellishments simple to focus on my image.  Since I already teased you that there are six images in this collection I *know* you won't want to miss what those look like.  Head over to the ATS blog to see all of the cuteness.  Everything will be available in the store tomorrow, Nov. 1st!

BLD Spotlight - Cowboy McCoy

Howdy, friends!    I have a very fun BLD post to share with y'all.  For those of you that have been around these parts awhile, know that I first came by way of LORi's fabulous Puddle Jumpers through Claudia & Company.    As many of you know, BLD images are digital, but shhhhh... not this little buckaroo.  He was from my Claudia & Co. days and he is a rubber image.  Yep, there was a time when the images were rubber. 

I thought I'd never get used to using digi images, but let me tell you.... I LOVE THEM!  I know I've mentioned my love of them before.  One of the many things is the instant gratification I get having them delivered right to my email!  And then there's the fabulous fact I can RE-SIZEthem to fit my project, not the other way around!!  Oh and did I mention they are AFFORDABLE?  Heck ya!  They are priced for anyones budget. 

I stamped McCoy on some Copic X-press It paper and colored him with my Copics.  After I colored him up, I cut him out with my classic oval nestabilities and then sponaged the borders with some antique linen distress ink.  My little round up wouldn't be complete without some antique brads, twine and stars.

Snowmen Wanted - All That Scraps Sneak Peeks

Good Morning Everyone!  Did you miss me?  I apologize for my unscheduled absence.  Between work and family I just needed to step away from everything else for the moment.  I did have a chance this weekend to regroup and play with the new images and dies hitting All That Scraps this week! 

Do you love the Meoples as much as I do?  Then hold on to your hats.  Because Christine did it again!  She added this super fun Dress Up Snowman set and coordinating die to the Meople family.  The coordinating die lines up perfectly to cut this snow cutie out.  Included in the set are a few different hats, scarf, and sweater!  Can you say, CUTE?!

I chose an out of the box color for my card.  I really really like it though.  The patterned paper is from an older Cosmo Cricket collection.  I played off the colors within it for my layout.   Christine also created this MUST have four seasons fence die this month.  I LOVE this die.  I cut out a piece of kraft card stock with the die to make a wood looking fence.  For my snow, I used sugar Sparkle Fluff.  I do like how it looks.  Want a chance to win this set?  Head over to the ATS blog and enter your name for a chance.  There are several of sets being showcased today.  You won't want to miss seeing any of them.

SSSC170 - Naughty or Nice?

Woo-hoo!!!  It's time for another fabby Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.   Are you ready to have a little (or a lot) of fun?!  You won't want to miss playing along with this baby.  

There were so many options for this sketch.  And I knew exactly which stamp I wanted to play with.  I decided to finally ink up this adorable bunny from The Cat's Pajama's.  The set is called Raising Cane.  How cute is that? 

 I started off by stamping the image with Memento ink on Copic X-press It paper and coloring it in.  Then I fussy cut him out and added some Sparkle Fluff to his hat trim and then drizzled some glass effects on his nose and candy cane.  For my square panel I cut out a piece of kraft card stock with my nestabilities die and then ran it through my Cuttlebug using my square lattice embossing folder.  The patterned paper is from Imaginisce Polar Expressions collection.  It's an oldie, but goodie. 

This sketch was so fun to play with.  I can't wait to see what the other gals did with it.  Won't you join me in checking them out?  You won't want to miss playing with us!

Home Sweet Home

Happy Friday everyone!!  I'm so glad the weekend is almost here.   Lots going on in these parts.  I'm already making lists and lists of everything that needs to be done.  I just have to keep reminding myself one thing at a time.  I tend to go into overdrive and try to do them all at once and then I completely break down.  Anyone know what I'm talking about?! 

Luckily I have plenty of new stamps and supplies to keep my sanity in check.   Today I have one of my favorite cards that I created using this months Key Ingredients kit. 

 

 

As soon as I saw this months kit I knew I had to use Karen's SSSC168 for a card featuring these fabulous corrugated frames from Jillibean Soup.   I'm not sure if you noticed or not but there is VERY little stamping on this card.  I let my papers do all the talking.  I simply stamped this adorable bird image from the subscriber exclusive set - Falling For You, trimmed it and perched it on top of my frame.  Easy peasy.   This card literally came together in less than 1/2 an hour.  That's record time for me.  Did you know as a Key Ingredients subscriber, you get inspiration sheets included with your subscription!

BLD spotlight - Bug & Roo Josie

Happy not Monday!   I hope everyone is having a great week so far.  Did you all have a chance to check out my tutorial on yesterday's post featuring die cuts?  It's a good one.  In case you missed it, scroll down! 

Today I'm back with everyone's favorite BLD's Bug & Roo!!!   This little sweetie is special to me cause she has the same name as my Mom! 

 

 

I decided to break up my holiday themed posts and do something really girlie.  You may recognize these luscious papers.  They are from last months Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions.   The layout is from Karen Giron's SSSC167.  I sponaged my layers with my 'go to' - antique linen distress ink.  I love how it looks once it dries.

How to use dies negatively

Good Morning!!  I have a post over on the All That Scraps blog today featuring this week's Make it Monday tutorial. 

Have you noticed dies are popping up everywhere?  And if you're anything like me, I want every new die when they come out and NOW!  Today I'm going show you how to stretch your stamping budget. 

Crafters often forget about the "negative" benefits of using dies.   I will be featuring the new C.C. Designs Cutters Christmas Tree die and the holly & berry die.

When you receive your dies, you will need to break them up. 

 

 

You will only need 2 layers for your card.  One for the card base and a second to use for your cut out.

 

 

 

Then simply add a "background" or patterned paper to your cardstock to cover the area you just cut out.  For added texture, I ran my cardstock through my Cuttlebug using a holiday embossing folder.

 

 

 

Adhere to card base and decorate as desired!  That's it!

More TE October 2012 KI Release

Hi Gang!  I'm back today with another sample I created using this months fabulous TE Key Ingredients kit.   In case you missed yesterday's post, click here for details.  Members from the KI Design Team and Bakers Dozen were out in full creative force sharing their samples from this must have kit.

For my card, I used this wonderful tree stamp, colored it with my green copics and added some red pearls for a little pop of color.  While there is a squirrel image included in the subscriber exclusive stamp set - Falling For You, I simply cut mine out with the coordinating dark brown cardstock.  I don't know about you, but I never seem to have enough fall cards that aren't Halloween themed.  This kit has filled that void.  Love, love, love everything about this kit.  I love it so much I purchased an extra 6x6 Simple Stories Harvest Lane paper pad!

TE October 2012 KI Release

Good Morning peeps!  I hope today's post finds you well and your week humming along.  I'm SUPER excited to be able to finally share this months TE Key Ingredients kit.  I know I say it every month, but you are going to LOVE this one!  Our October kit not only features enough supplies to create 16 cards, but this month we have a coordinating stamp and die set!!!  Let's see what I created for my first card:

SSSC169 - Best Witches

Greetings from the happiest place on earth!    My post comes to you from Disneyland!!  We got here Thursday night.  It was a complete surprise for our daughter.  We haven't been able to afford to go and she's turning 10 at the end of the month, and we decided it was time to make it happen.   Here we are our first day. 

 

Now for the real reason you stopped by!  We're back with another fabby sketch from Karen Giron!  

I couldn't wait to ink up this new set from Taylored Expressions.  It's from the TE line, called Fa-BOO-lous.  And I think it's just that - FA-BOO-LOUS!!  It pairs perfectly with this scrumptious paper from Doodlebug Designs - Haunted Manor.  With my last TE order I also picked up a few new dies.  Included was this amazing spider web.  I trimmed it to fit just the corner of my image panel and then dusted it with some black ice glitter.  I also added some black glaze to my little spiders to make them POP, but it's hard to see it in this picture.  

This sketch was so fun to play with.  I can't wait to see what the other gals did with it.  Won't you join me in checking them out?  You won't want to miss playing with us!
