Hi gang!  Yes, I'm back with another card using Karen's fabby sketch.  I told you guys this was a great sketch.  Super easy and it has so many possibilities.  I picked up this new a la mode - An Apple for Teacher recently and thought I'd get a jump start on my teacher appreciation cards for the next school year. 

I finally decided to cave into my hoarded stash of October Afternoon Schoolhouse and Report Card paper pads to create my card.  I just love the papers in each of these pads.  I know, I say that about all my paper pads.  I just can't help it.  There's just so many great papers out there!  It's not my fault I tell you!  I stayed pretty true to the sketch adding a sprig of green to my button (or apple) from my leafy branch die from TE.  I like the way it gives just a little pop of color to the whole card.  Because this sketch is so easy to work with, this card could easily be mass produced!

Ohh it's finally Wednesday.  I know, I say that like it's a good thing.  Well to me it's the next best thing to Friday.  LOL!  We're almost there and the end of the week is in sight!  I have another card to share with you today featuring Karen's fabby Sweet Sunday Sketch #161.  I told you I'd have more cards using this baby!!   

I decided to mix it up a little making a masculine card for a change.  And those of you that know me, know I don't do these that often.   But I just *had* to ink up this new set - Far Out  from Taylored Expressions.  While working on another card (I'll post that one tomorrow) I had out some older October Afternoon paper - Report Card & Schoolhouse and I decided to use some of those papers to complete my card.  I like how the "wheels & stars" patterns sort of look like gears already.  Anyone else see that?   It seemed only natural to use the coordinating sprockets die for this little bot.  It deviates a little from the sketch since I stretched out the left side vs. adding a few sprockets like the sketch illustrates.  I still think it looks okay though.

Celebrate Red, White & Blue

Good morning stamping friends!  It feels so good to be posting today.  No particular reason.  Guess when life gets hectic I cling to my routine things even more to get me through.  Know what I mean?

Hard to believe that the 4th of July is next week.  I'm looking forward the holiday/day off, just wish it wasn't smack dab in the middle of the week.  It's like having a mini weekend and then back to work.    To help get me in the spirit, I inked up this adorable new image from Taylored Expressions - Moka Betsy.  I paired her with Karen's new Sweet Sunday Sketch.

 

 

Much to my surprise, I had this fabulous paper from Echo Park's 4th of July mini collection.  I honestly have no recollection picking this up.  But so glad I did.  I tweaked the sketch just a bit moving the flags over to the left instead of under my image panel.  For Betsy, I fussy cut her and popped her up on a vertical greetings die (MFT) that I ran through my Cuttlebug using a stars impression plate from TE.  It still needed something, so I grabbed my vintage photo distress ink and sponge and edged the outside of the card and sentiment flag.

I absolutely LOVE this sketch.  I will definitely be using it again.  Haven't played along with Karen's awesome sketches yet?  There's still time.  In fact she's looking for a few more Sweet Sunday Designers to join her team.  You can get all the details >> HERE <<

All That Scraps Review - Snorkeling Beatrice

Happy Thursday Everyone!   I have another review post from All That Scraps to share with you.  You may have seen this cutie - Snorkeling Beatrice during the sneak peeks at the beginning of th month.  This is the first time I've had a chance to ink her up.  Let's just say I had a lot of fun creating this card.  

As usual, I started off with a simple base and my usual single sheet of patterned paper.  The orange chevron stripes is actually a reverse side of this yummy paper from Imaginisce. While Beatrice was still in my die I airbrushed some clouds to make my watery background.   I also added some Stickles to the drawn bubbles and for her goggles I coated them with glass effects.  After I adhered my image panel the right side was just too bare.  So I started playing with my bubbles die cuts.  I remembered I has some fun dotted vellum paper stashed in my scrap-booking stuff so I used them for the centers of the bubbles to make them look more life like. 

 

 

I couldn't leave my sentiment unfinished, so I added the last bit to the inside of my card.  Do you like it?

All That Scraps Review - Sweet November Stamps!

Beach Babe alert!  You might want to get your sunglasses on too.  I've got a too hot to handle post to share with you all today.    For starters, we have the oh so sassy Phoebe from the Sweet November Stamps causing a little head turning.  Can I just say, she is cute to boot as it is, but throw that little hand on the hip action and I was a goner.  I just had to have this stamp! 

I already had my Echo Park Paradise Beach paper pad out on my desk.  So I reached for it to create my card.  Don't you just love the colors in these prints?  My favorite is the flip flops & polka dots.  I originally had just the circle panel on top of the square ones but it needed something else. That's when I decided to use my fishtail dienamics from MFT to turn these scraps in to flags.   Phoebe wouldn't be complete without adding my new favorite toy - Smooch Glitz all over her bathing suit and flip flops.

ATS Review - Beachy Beatrice

Wow, where did the time go?!  School is officially out for summer and my kiddo is already driving me over the edge.   Is it me or do they get more difficult to keep entertained the older they get?  Oh vey!   I must admit this school year went entirely too quick.  

By Sunday, I was needing some much needed stamping therapy to get my sanity in check.   Beachy Beatrice to the rescue!  Isn't she just a cutie?! I used a single sheet of patterned paper from Echo Park's new Paradise line.  I tried to play off of the colors already found in it - blue, green & yellow.  My card would not be complete without featuring another one of the new dies just released - C.C. Cutters Shell.  I cut my shell out with some Creamy Caramel SU! card stock, then sponged some distress ink around the edges and finished it off with a good drizzling of Smooch Glitz.

More All That Scraps Sneak Peeks!

Hi gang!  Are you enjoying the sneak peeks this week?  In case you missed yesterday's, you can see them HERE.  I've been dying to share with you today's sneak peek.  Amy Young has done it again with her adorable pixies.  Love, love, love all of these cuties.  There are six new pixies being released tonight!!!

For today's card I chose the Patriotic Betsy.  She's all ready for some Independence Day celebrating.   I paired her with some fabulous paper from Best Creations.  I airbrushed some lighter clouds for the background and some yellow for the spark in her sparklers.

It's a little difficult to tell in the picture, but the patterned paper has some texture to it so I decided to add some Smooch Glitz to my star die cuts for a little added pop.   You won't want to miss seeing the other pixies in all their glory.  Head on over to the ATS blog and check them out.  Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win them!!

All That Scraps - Sneak Peeks Day 1

I can't believe it's that time again....... time for new stamps and sneak peeks!  We're sure that you find this release not only SUPER adorable, but it will provide you with everything you need for a day at the beach.    First up today is Sundress Emma.  She's picture perfect in her paper pieced sundress.  All patterned paper is from Echo Park's Paradise Beach collection.  I wanted to give the feeling of her really being outside, so I used my Copic air can to make my cloud background.  I have a tutorial >>> HERE<<< on how to do that.  Easy Peasy!!

How many new items do you spy on this card?  One, two, three??  There are FOUR! 

Running up the left side is a new C.C. Some one PINCH me!!!!  I was so excited when Karen Giron emailed me asking me to be this weeks guests designer for her FABULOUS Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I've been feeling pretty blue since discontinuing my Sketchy Thursdays and the recent farewell to Taylor's Sketch Challenges.  So Karen's email was just what I needed to turn my frown upside down.   THANK YOU KAREN!!!!

 

Here's my take on the sketch.  I immediately reached for my Cute-a-tude Pure Innocence stamp and my favorite MME paper pad - Dwell.  I used the same papers from THIS card I did a few months back.
