Farewell to TESC Sketch Challenge

Happy Friday!  I can't believe a whole week has gone by since I've posted.   I have no excuse only that I'm sad to be posting another good bye.  Taylor has decided to discontinue her sketch challenges.    I know, I know.  I pretty much felt like my little smiley.  But you know what they say, when one door closes another opens.  And in Taylor's case she recently opened Taylored Expressions up for wholesale!  How awesome is that?!   In case you missed the announcement, you can read all about it > HERE <   Can you imagine walking into your local craft store and see TE on the shelves?! 

 

We had four remaining sketches in the pipeline so to kick off our farewell challenge the sketch crew will be featuring different sketches on their blogs.  As you can see I chose to work with #158.  I used one my new Fruity Friends  set and some older October Afternoon paper.   Who says it doesn't pay to save your scraps?!

 

As we farewell to TESC, we thought we'd at least go out with a bang!  We will draw random winners for the following challenges:

• One winner from each sketch to receive a $10 gift certificate to the TE Store
• One lucky person that participates in ALL 4 sketches will receive a $40 gift certificate to the TE Store

Happy Friday!!  Just popping in to say HI and share another card (no, not a beach one!) featuring one of the new images released this month - Sugarplums Sassy Emma.  My card wouldn't be complete without one of AmyR's perfectly coordinating sentiments.  This one was also released this month - Many Thanks!

 

I paired Emma with some older paper from Basic Grey.  It's from the Offbeat collection.  You can't tell from the photo, but I also colored parts of her with some Spica Glitter pens.  Just a touch to her shoes and all over her headband.

I have a jam packed weekend ahead.  My oldest grandson is making his first Holy Communion tomorrow and then Sunday we're headed to a Giants game.  It's my first time visiting AT&T park - the new stadium for the S.F. Giants.  DH was sweet enough to score us some tickets - part 2 of my Mother's Day gift!

I brought more sunshine for you today!  I'm back today with another peek at our new Sugarplums Beach kit.  And what's better than new stamps?  I would say being able to purchase them right away.  That's right, the kit is available NOW for purchase in the store!  Be sure to check out the new items section as well.  Christine tucked a few surprises in there! 

 

I recently picked up some fabby paper from Fancy Pants.  I think it's an older collection called Beach Babe.  But that obviously didn't stop me from snatching it up.  I love these colors together too.  I had this lonely little Doodlebug charm (FUN) sitting out and I said, why not.   The little flowers are from C.C. Designs Tags It stamp & die set.  I added some matching Stickles to the centers and then dusted them with Smooch Glitz.

BLD Spotlight - I Heart Art

Hello!  My apologies for not getting a post together yesterday, but I've been feverishly working on something top secret and can't wait to share it with you all.   Tune in tomorrow for the details.  Before I share today's post, I wanted to thank everyone that shared their comments about the end of Sketchy Thursday.  I tell you some of you almost twisted my arm to keep it around!   With that said, I can't say they will come back anytime soon.  But who knows, maybe in the future.  For now, hopefully the break will energize me.  I almost couldn't believe it when I looked back that Sketchy Thursday's started in 2008!!

 

 

It's Tuesday and that can only mean one thing around here.... time for BLD!!  And of course I have a new Bug to share with you!  I let a big ahhhhh when I saw this image in the line of up new Bug images this month.  Love, love, love my BLD, Bug & Roo images.  This cutie is called I Heart Art.  How cute is that? 

I just received a big haul from Taylored Expressions and this paper pad, Summer Fresh from Simple Stories was in it.  Don't you just love it when you get something on line that looks even yummier in real life?  Then again, we're talking about paper, one of my other obsessions. LOL!

Sketchy Thursday

Hello everyone!

It is with a heavy heart, but after a lot of thought & prayer I've decided it's time to discontinue Sketchy Thursdays.  Participation has been dwindling steadily for the past several months and I just can't continue to dedicate the time to creating and posting them any more.   I plan to focus more on my current design team commitments and stamping just for fun!  Ohhh how good will that feel.  LOL!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! to everyone that supported them.  It truly was the bright spot to my week to see all of the wonderful creations using the sketches.  I hope that you will continue to visit my blog even though there won't be any more sketches.

BLD Spotlight - New Bug & Roo

Well we made it through the toughest part of the week, Monday!   It's just going to get better from here.    In case you missed the big release, I have a peek at one of the new fabby images from BLD's Bug & Roo line.  There are a total of NINE must have digi's you won't want to miss. 

I *finally* had a chance to play with Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday sketch challenges.  Her latest sketch was exactly what I was looking for when I sat down to play with my new Bug images.  I immediately grabbed my MME Howdy Doody paper pad again.  I'm going to need to pick up an *extra* one just in case.

 

I stayed pretty true to the sketch.  Adding a rolled rose from MFT & leafy branch die from All That Scraps to coordinate with the flowers on the patterened paper.   By the way, I don't know what that speck is on the center image panel.  It must be something on the camera, because it's NOT on my card. Wahhhh!

ATC Roundup ---- Spoiler Below

Hi Gang!  It's the start of another week - again.  Sigh......  Here's hoping the week goes by fast.  It's been awhile since I've posted some ATC's (Artist Trading Cards), and since I just finished April's, I thought I'd share them with you.

If you've never particpated in an ATC swap, I *highly* recommend them.  You can often find them on Splitcoast Stampers.  And in case you are wondering what the heck an ATC is, it stands for Artist Trading Card.  They are mini works of art.  You can find a fabulous tutorial on SCS - here.  I host a monthly swap with varying themes.  Here's what I created for January.

 

Up, Up & Away!  For this ATC I used Sky's The Limit and Clouds Impression Plate from Taylored Expressions.  My ATC was based on THIS card I posted back in January. 

 

FEBRUARY

 

((hugs)) was inspired by THIS card from Karen Giron.  I used Love Monsters, Heart Impressions Plate,  Hearts a Plenty dies & Layering Doily (small) die from Taylored Expressions.

MARCH

Can you guess what the theme for March was?  Hee-hee. Well it was green and since I had picked up this AWESOME set from The Cat's Pajama's forever ago I thought I'd ink it up.  It's called A Beary Good Year.  And it truly has everything you could need to make cards for any occasion all year round!

And here's my latest.  Our them was Spring.  I used one of my newer BLD images,Bug & Roo Bunny Girl 3.  The design was based on another card I did HERE for BLD.  Can I just tell you how much I ♥♥♥♥ these images.

BLD Spotlight - Watermelon Girl

It's Friday! Friday! Friday!!!     Is it stuck in your head now too??   Well it could be worse.  I woke up to a jingle on my clock radio that is still stuck in my head since 5:00 a.m.!

You may have seen today's post over on the BLD blog earlier this week.   I didn't have a chance to post it until now because of my ATS sneak peeks.  We had more nice weather last weekend here in No. California.  So my card was inspired by a little spring fever. 

 

I had to use my beloved Lollipop Watermelon Smile.  Love, love, love this image.  All of the patterned paper is from Lilly Bee Designs Hand Made collection.  The prints are so fun and happy, just like this image.   Speaking of fun & happy images, Hannah just released some new Bug & Roo images that you HAVE to check out.  I will be whipping up some cards this weekend with these new cuties.  I can't wait.  Click >>> HERE <<< to see Hannah's new Bugs.
