Sketchy Thursday #124

Happy Thursday!!  Are you guys ready for some sketchy fun??   I could definitely use a little fun today.  I'm sick with a cold.  Bad cough and the sniffles.  The funny thing is I've been on antibiotics for some dental work I had done and I still got sick!  My not feeling well took a serious back seat last night when I came home and one of my furry babies, Harley, had a "episode".  This is the second time he has had one and from what we can determine it was a small stroke or T.I.A. Transient Ischemic Attack. 

It was one of the worst things I could have witnessed one of my babies go through.  Apparently it is not painful for the animal, they are just sort of dazed and confused.  It all lasted about 3-5 minutes before he was lucid again.  Once it passed he ate and was his playful, normal, lovable self.  I realize this may be the beginning of the end.  He's 14.  But it's never an easy place to be.  So if you guys don't mind, Harley could use your positive thoughts & prayers.   Thank you!!!

Okay now to the real reason you guys are here!  Ladies I am sooo excited to announce this weeks featured Sketch Artist.  Give it up for.....

Now most of you know how I'm drawn to the girlie colors.  If it's pink I'm all over it.  Well I had the same feelings when I saw this baby from Kathy.  I absolutely love these colors.  And you know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words?  Kathy's card is a perfect example of that.  The lighting really captures all of the details in her card - like her fantastic coloring.  I love the hair on Ian.  He's got a little Zac Efron/Justin Bieber thing going.  LOL!  You guys may remember Kathy's work - she has been a featured Sketch Artist before.  Please stop by her blog Will Stamp for Wine to see more of flawlessly exectued masterpieces!

ATS Sneak Peeks Day 2 - All About You!!

Hi Gang!! 

How did you like the sneak peek yesterday?  I just adore that monkey.  He was really fun to color. I'm back with not just one, but two sneak peeks for you today.  Can you spot them????????

If you said the adorable Swiss Pixies Cupcake Birgitta.... you would be wrong.  Sorry.  She was actually part of last month's release.  This is the first time I had a chance to play with her.   If you said the sentiment, then you'd be right about one thing.  This is the latest & greatest from AmyR appropriately called - All about You!  This is one set you don't want to be caught without. 

The other....... it's the label tag that the sentiment is on!  Don't you love it?  Now you don't have to guess and try to make your flags perfect.  Christine has designed 3 different sizes to suit your every possible need!  There is a smaller one and a larger one.  This would be the middle sized.   I was cutting up flags left & right this weekend.  FUN! FUN! FUN!

ATS Sneak Peeks Day 1 - Tulip Monkey

Good morning!!  Welcome to day one of sneak peeks from All that Scraps.  Today we are previwing 3 images.  Those include Rain Lilliput (sooo adorable), Birgitta with/out a bench and my favorite little monkey as featured here. 

 

Ain't he cute?!  I thought so too.   I made this card with my dear friend & SBFF (stamping BFF & all around enabler!) Michele H.  She loves him too.  I have to say I am loving the blue & brown colors together.  The cardstock is dark chocolate from Papertrey Ink and the patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Hopscotch collection.  If you don't have this paper you need to add it to your collection.  Seriously this paper is fantastic!

I used YG11, YG13, YG17 Copics for my grass (definitely my go to greens) and R81, R83, RV34 for my tulips - also my favorites for pinks.  I airbrushed my sky with B41.  There were so many possibilities for the sentiment choice on my card.  Naturally I turned to my stash of endless sentiments from AmyR.  This one is from her Friends Sentiments set.

TESC is back!

Good morning peeps.  I almost don't believe it, but we've almost been a whole day without rain!!  Woo-hoo!  I don't mind the rain, but I do notice a shift in my mood when the sun is out.  I definitely have a little more pep in my step.   Well usually.  I'm actually coming down with a cold.  It started yesterday when I woke up with a nasty sore throat and today it's moved into my ears.  Wahhhhhhh! (imagine that in my most annoying Snookie voice) - LOL!!!

I don't know if you guys have heard, Taylor has brought back cupcake sketch challenges.  As awful as I felt yesterday I just had to play along.  I mean check out this baby!!

 

Here's my take on it.  Yes I know literal to the end!  I can't help it.  I mean after all that's what sketch challenges are for.  This one was a stretch for me in terms of a layout.   

 

When I saw the sketch sample, I instantly knew I wanted to play with my newest TE stamp set, Hello Spring.  I just ♥ this set.  I also used some more of that yummy jubilee cardstock from Bazzill.  In keeping with my "chicks rule" them I used more patterned paper is from Three Bugs in a Rug's April Showers collection.  Can you say cute?!  I have a lot of different textures going on here too.  I paper pieced the egg shells with the opposing side of my patterned paper.   I also pulled out my all time favorite Cuttlebug dots embossing folder for the image panel, followed by rounding the corners with my corner rounder.  Not a whole lot of coloring on this one.

Happy Friday Peeps!!!  I finally did it.  Notice anything new on the ol blog?  Here's a hint..... look to your left.  LOL!  I opened an Etsy store. 

I'm starting small.  I only have 9 cards listed right now.  If there's one you've had your eye it can be yours!   And in case you didn't know,  pretty much any card I post is available for sale.  Just ask. 

Well I thought this was an appropriate card for the continued down pour of rain we are having this week.   This is just a cuter way of showing it.  LOL!!   

 

This is Puddle Jumper Ella with her umbrella (ella-ella-ella).  Sorry I couldn't help but think of that song.   I have some more new papers from Three Bugs in a Rug - April Showers collection that I had to play with.  Not sure if you can tell or not, but the patterned paper under Ella is if umbrellas.  Sooooo cute in real life.  I just ♥ this umbrella.  I mean who doesn't love polka dots.  I colored them in with my clear glaze pen to make them nice & shiny.  For even more shine I filled in the puddle with some glossy accents. 

I decided to size my digital image of Ella just a little bigger for my card.  Can you guys believe it - I didn't make a 5 x 5?!  LOL!!  It's weird once you make several 5 x 5 cards then do a standard size one it feels small.

I'm hoping & praying the weather will dry out for at least part of the weekend.  Besides stamping, what sort of things do you guys like to do when you're couped up in the house.  My #2 thing would be to watch a movie.  I love movies almost as much as I do stamping!!

Hi gals!! 

Are you ready for the weekend yet?  I sure am.  It's been raining cats & dogs here in Northern California all week.   I'm hoping we get a break over the weekend so I can get my car washed.  It's so dirty I can't stand it. Yucky!!!!

I also need to get some serious stamping time in this weekend too, cause sneak peeks for All that Scraps start next week!  Woo-hoo!  There are some stinkin cute stamps and dies coming your way.  ***Squeal***  I don't know which one I'm more excited about showing you.

I'm sure most of you  know how much I ♥ C.C. Designs stamps.  So when I saw that one of the entries for Sketchy Thursday used a Honey image I just *had* to check it out. And what a pleasant surprise was waiting for me on the other end.  It wasn't only the image, but the red that popped out for me.  F*U*N!!  And did you see the topper?  Check out the adorable paper piecing Barbara did on her.  LOVE the tights!!  I like the clean lines of the card and how it packs plenty of flair, like that big red apple!!

Blast from the Past

Welcome friends to this month's Blast from the Past blog hop with Taylored Expressions!!  I was happy to play again this month, especially when I found out that the them was S*P*R*I*N*G!!

 

 
I had have wanted this image ever since it came out.  It sat in my wish list for ever and on my last order I just knew it had to come live with me.  This cutie is from A Year of Sweets 2 from Taylored Expressions.  Doesn't Cuppie just look so relaxed sitting amongst all of the lovely spring flowers?  I also picked up this fun new scallop border during my last shopping spree.   If you haven't added any of Taylor's dies to your stamping repertoire I highly suggest it.  They are great quality and a fantastic way to switch things up with your crafting.  And they best part.... they cut like buttah!

 
The patterned paper is also a new purchase during my last trip to my LSS.  It's from Three Bugs in a Rug's Chloe collection.  I thought the flower pattern complimented Cuppie.   I airbrushed the sky and some of the grass while my image was still in my die to get the white border around the image.  After I was done I went back with my Copic YG17 and added little tufts of grass by hand.

Good morning peeps!!  I'm back with another image from Zlatoena Designs.  You know how I love this bunny.  But did you notice this time it's a girl!  I just love the bow in her hair. 

 

 
I wish you could see this cardstock in real life  It's just goregous!  It's called Jubilee and it's by Bazzill. I wanted something fun with a bit of a pop for my card.  The patterned paper is from Three Bugs in a Rug.  My LSS just put out some fun new spring-y paper and I quickly snatched this up.  The pastel colors are just my style.  I wanted to keep the layout simple to show off my image.  For added dimension I added a "Jodi frame" around my rectangle and popped up the bunny with some foam dots.

Not sure if you can tell from my picture, but I added some *sparkle* with my spica glitter pens to bunny's bow and the ribbon on the present.  It looks great in person!

T.G.I.F peeps!!!  I am really looking forward to this weekend.  Rain or shine I hope things on the home front are quite.  Work has been a bit crazy this week and on top of it DD got sick, again.  Ti's the season.  Crossing fingers DH & I don't catch it next. 

Today I have a new someone to share with you.  This is Puddle Jumper Gabi from BLD-By LORi Designs.  She was one of the new images released this month.  I couldn't wait to get my hands on this cutie.  I decided to go a little more tom-boy with my card.  She takes me back to my own childhood.  I was definitely a tom-boy.  Mom was always having to patch up my pants from my "rough playing".  It's so funny how things change too.  I distinctively remember the summer (1984) when that all changed for me.  All of a sudden the boy next door looked yummy and I wanted to dress like a girl.  Yes, my first beau was the boy next door!  

 

Okay, so how about this card.  After all that's why you guys are here!  I scaled Gabbi down on my computer first.  I promise to do a tutorial soon on working with digital images.  I had all of my spring paper out, but Gabbi didn't want any part of the pink.  So I turned to my Little Boy paper collection from Echo Park.  Score!!  I wanted to add a little something to her t-shirt, so after I punched out my star border I used one of the smaller stars for her shirt. 

Notice anything else a little new about the card?  I made a Jodi border!!  Yes my dear friend Jodi Collins has been up to her crafting genius again.  I cut out Gabbi using my rectangle Nestabilities.  While the image was still in the die I took my Copic multi-liner and outlined the die.  I do like the way it turned out.  Thanks Jodi!!!
