Feeling like a kid?

Phew!  Where did the weekend go?   I can't believe it's already the start of a new week and tomorrow a new month!  It's true what they say, time flies after you have kids!  Heck time flies the older you get!  Do you guys remember being bored over summer vacation, secretly wishing for school to start up again? Where are those days?!  LOL!  Actually those were the days when playing outside was the norm, not inside playing a video game!  Am I completely dating myself now???

Anyhow, I'm a firm believer that you're as old as you feel.  And well honestly, I feel about as old as this image! 

 

 

This is another Bug & Roo image from BLD.  Her name is Hazel and is illustrated by LORi's amazing daughter Hannah!  I used one of my Key Ingredients kits to help me out with my card and patterned paper from October Afternoon's Homemaker collection to the rescue.  I loved the playful patterns and bright colors which felt like the perfect compliment for Hazel.

I broke out my new Basic Grey Hopscotch pad for my card, which also happens to be on sale right now at Claudia & Co. for $5.40!  And boy do I LOVE it.  The pastel colors are my favorites to work with.  Do you every make a card and just fall in love with it the more it evolves?  That's how I felt about this one.  I mean Mary Jane is cute enough to stand on her own, but the sentiment and heart/button accent really pulled it together for me.  ♥ this one!!

You guys made such fantastic cards this week I was truly having a difficult time selecting a winner.  I know I say that often, but seriously this week was harder than usual!!

Where do I begin with this entry?  OMG! Isn't it just pure stamping perfection?  I still have a smile on my face because of it.  It's bright, cheery & has me wishing spring was here already.  Kathy made this sketch really come to life.  This bunny is sooo sweet.  I like how she popped her up on the circle.  The added bow with button finishes it off like icing on the cake!  And guess what?  Kathy's blog, Will stamp for wine, is packed full of cards just like this!  You guys will want to head on over there and take a peek.  Be sure to give her some cyber love while you're there!     Kathy!!!!!

Blast from the Past with Taylored Expressions

Woot-woot!  It's one of my favorite times of the month.  It's easy to get addicted to playing along with Taylor's Blast from the Past blog hops.  I love any excuse to stamp and what's even better is to play with stamps that need love!

 

 
This month Taylored Expressions is going green.  Say what?  Well the challenge for the hop was to make a card/project that was green.  That could be using the color  green, or incorporating a recylced item in it.  I chose to go with the color green.  I turned to my Feeling Groovy set to help me out.  I had this awesome paper pad from KI Memories that I picked up at Michael's awhile back.  I was flipping through it and stopped at the cute shamrocks page.  After ripping it out I saw this one right behind it.

SCORE!!!  How perfect it was for the challenge with the recycle logo, earth, trees and peace signs!!  I stamped the peace symbol and sentiment with Colorbox Chalk ink in Prussian Blue.  Afterward I airbrushed the inside of the peace sign with a light green Copic. DD said I needed to add the scooter, so I stuck it in there just for her.  It was a joint venture at this point.  LOL!

The one thing that was new for this card was the heart impressions plate from Taylored Expressions.  I love this thing.  It's such a great deal too, as you get 2 images to use!

Have you heard?

The Cat's Pajama's has something new.  And I just love the name of it too.

 

Alma, owner/creator and simply the cat's meow, has started posting daily picks of the litter that feature - what else?  Creations using The Cat's Pajama's stamps.  I've been having a blast with my new images and my Penguin - Love Me Do card was selected as yesterday's pick!  I was so honored I wanted to share my excitement with my dear stamping gal pals!!

You guys should really check it out.  Dust off those TCP stamps or break out the ones you just bought but haven't used yet!   You can find out more details on Alma's blog, Dancing in Pajama's.

Getting Older?

Hey stamping friends!  Thanks for stopping by today.  I have another fun Cat's Pajama's card to share with you.  I've been having a lot of fun lately stamping just for the heck of it.  I almost forgot how fun it was!   

 

For today's card I used the adorable bunny from the Forget about the Cake set.   The fun paper I used is another new one from Echo Park - Little Girl collection.  I kept the layout fairly simple to focus on my image.  I just love this bunny.  I wanted to play up the brown of the cake so I used brown card stock for my base. 

 
What else would make this a stand out card?  But some liquid pearls of course!  Here's a close up of my chocolate cake.  I airbrushed the back ground using one of my pink Copics to make it pop.  And for some reason I can't recall the color right now.  It may have been R83.  This sentiment just cracks me up too.  It fits my sense of humor to a tee.  It's excatly the kind of thing I would send a loved one!

Happy Monday & Happy President's Day!

Sadly I'm working today.  It seems like everyone I know is off for President's Day.  Oh well, hopefully it will be a quite and productive day.  Speaking of productive, I was in high gear yesterday with stamping.  I picked up some of the new special edition images from BLD and couldn't wait to play with them.

 

This one is called Need a Boost and was created by fellow DT member, Arielle Gordon.  When you purchase this image you get the sentiment as a bonus. I love how this turned out.  I pulled out my paper piercer and went to town adding a border around the image.  This playful paper is from Echo Park's Little Boy collection.  I thought the primary colors were perfect for this card.   You can pick up a sampler pack from Claudia & Co. for only $3.25!

I hope my card gives you a little boost today.  If you have today off and need an excuse to get some stamping in, there's still plenty of time to play along with this week's Sketchy Thursday!

 Phew!!!  Where did this week go?   Does anyone else feel that way?  I'm really looking forward to this weekend.  We finally don't have anything planned so I'm hoping to get caught up on everything that's stacked up in my DVR as well as the housework.  Does the bathroom ever stay cleaned for more than 5 minutes?    Sigh....  and if I'm lucky I will have a little time left to stamp!    Wish me luck.

Someone pinch me!

Happy Hump Day peeps!!

I have a very special announcement to share with you all.  You know how they say when one door closes another one opens?  Well I will be the first to admit I hate those cliches, especially when I'm feeling low to begin with!  But not today!!

I had mentioned that this was my last month with working on the design team for Claudia & Co.,right?  Well my dear friend, the AMAZING LORi Boyd, has asked me to join her over at By LORi Designs!

 
 
Needless to say I'm beyond ecstatic.  I get to continue to work with the adorable Puddle Jumpers, Sugar Sticks, Lollipops & of course - Bug & Roo!  Not only is LORi an amazing artist, but she is a dream to work with!  I am so honored to be joining an incredible group of wickedly talented stampers! 

I can't wait to see what the future holds for me with BLD.  I am full of excitement as I embark on this new journey!!  I hope you will continue along with me.

Love Me Do!

Good Morning!!

I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day.  I'm officially coming down from an overdose of chocolate and Girl Scout Cookies.  Lucky me - the cookies came in Sunday night and I have boxes & boxes covering my family room floor.  If anyone needs any I can hook you up!  DD is trying to break her record sales from last year.  I've already purchased 10 boxes!

In addition to the GS cookies there was still plenty of love in the air too.  I couldn't resist sharing another *love* themed card with you.  I just *heart* this penguin from the new Got Love set from The Cat's Pajama's.

 

I had so much fun creating this card.  It kept evolving as I was making it.  Just like the bottom piece.  That's not a new border punch I used to get these big hearts.  It was a complete accident!  The top part of the "hearts" was created using my SU! scallop border stamp.  That was my intended use for the strip.  Then I changed my mind and was going to use my heart border die from Taylored Expressions.  I used the scrap of paper I used for the scalloped border.  After I cut out my heart border I was left with this scrap!  It was a pleasant accident that happened to also look like larger hearts!!!

Here's a close up of my spica glittered hearts.  They look much prettier in real life. 

Well peeps I hope you like today's card and my "accident".  LOL!  Speaking of like.  I will admit to everyone that I did have Bieber fever this weekend after seeing the Justin Bieber movie with DD.  Just as I suspected, I learned a lot about him and his very fast rise to fame.  He's one talented young man.
