'Tis the Season.......

I wish I was feeling Jolly.  Sadly I ended up getting sick over the holiday.  It was inevitable since DD had brought home a cold a few days prior.    It only made staying in that much more appealing too.  No black Friday shopping for me.  I'm not one for the crowds anyhow.  Plop me down in front of a computer, throw in free shipping -- and I'm there!!!  I generally do all of my holiday shopping on line.

 

 I had this cutie sitting on my desk for awhile and I couldn't resist making a card with her.  This is one of Amy Young's Sweet November Sprites - Penelope.  She also comes with a "friend" called Juniper.  She was released this month, but I hadn't had a chance to play with her yet.  Isn't she a cutie?  Sentiment is from AmyR's Holiday Greetings, which was released last month.  I just love the fonts on this set!

I used My Mind's Eye's - I Believe sampler pack that I picked up from Die Cuts R Us and kraft cardstock for my card.   Some more wonky stitching and my new favorite toy - eyelet border die from Taylored Expressions and my card was complete. 

Here's a close up of some red gems I added to the holly and Star Dust Stickles to her fur trim.

A Merry Latte

Most of you know what a coffee nut I am.  And especially at this time of year - I'm in coffee heaven!  Starbucks has all of their seasonal speciality drinks out right now and my all time favorite is the Caramel Brulee Latte. I'm drooling just typing the words.  LOL!        

  

Yes I love them all.  And it's a good thing I don't count calories that you drink, cause I'm sure these babies are high on the ol calorie chart.  But my motto is if it's not food (the kind you chew!) it doesn't count! 

 

I inked up my a la mode from My Favorite Things to help me spread my caffeine cheer. I thought this yummy paper from Girls Paperie - Tinsel & Twig went perfectly with the Starbucks picture.  What do you think?  Ribbon is pure poppy from PTI, button from stash and the bakers twine is from Die Cuts R Us. 

I will surely need cups of coffee this large if I decide to head out for any black Friday sales.  I'm still on the fence about it.  How about you?  Are you a black Friday shopper?  I prefer cy-ber Mondays personally - especially if you can get free shipping!!

Go Forth....

And eat cake!  Ha, thought I was going to say Turkey.  LOL!   Well not today.  Just a few more sleeps till that big day.  I have been dying to ink up this cutie since I picked it up from The Cat's Pajamas awhile back.  It's called Forget about the Cake.  I just adore this bunny.

 

 
I colored him up with my favorite Copic colors, browns & pinks.  For an added effect, I dabbed my colorless blender pen over the pink frosting to make the dots.  The longer you leave the the pen down the lighter your mark will be.  I also played with my new scalloped eyelet border die from Taylored Expressions.  I love this thing.  You will definately be seeing a lot more of it! 

My BSFF (best stamping friend forever) Michele had made some really cute cards awhile back using this yummy paper from Imaginisce B-day Bash.  I finally scored some and couldn't resist pairing it with my little bunny.  Thanks for the inspiration Michele!!

Not to sound corny, but isn't this out of this world?  I thought so.  Linda had made this card with her grandson in mind. I It's the perfect card for a little boy, don't you think?  The fun paper is from DCWV.  I only know cause I'm hoarding some.     Thank goodness Linda didn't so she could share her adorable card.  This image is super cute and I love how she placed her sentiment on the ribbon.  But my favorite part is definitely the little space embellies.  You won't want to miss checking out Linda's blog, lindysmaidwidluv for more crafty goodness and to see a picture of her adorable grandson Jack.

Blast from the Past Blog Hop

 

Woo-hoo!!!  It's time once again for us to blast to the past with Taylored Expressions!!  I had reached out to one of my new east coast friends, the SUPER sweet and talented Jodi Collins for some help.   She was kind enough to stamp me several images to play with for this fall/autumn inspired hop.  Thanks again Jodi!! 

 

 

I knew exactly which image I wanted to play with too - Cuppie sitting in a pumpkin patch was the one for me.  This image is from Year of Sweets 3.  And yes I can't believe I haven't picked up this set yet.  There are SO many on my wish list.   Cuppie went perfectly with last month's Key Ingredients kit too.   I used the colors of the patterned paper (from Imaginsce) for my inspiration.  Pinecone & saltillo cardstock for my base colors seemed the natural choice.  And let me tell you these colors are gorgeous!  The ribbon and button are also part of the kit too.  I can't tell you how great it is to have the work all done for you with these kits.  And it comes to your door!

In case this layout looks a little familiar it was inspired from the sketch for last month's blast from the past hop.  So I'm a month behind.  LOL!   

I hope you enjoyed my little taste of fall. It makes me crave pumpkin pie for some reason.     Please continue along the hop to see what the other ladies have whipped up.  Don't forget, one lucky hopper will win a TE stamp set of their choice!!

All That Scraps Review - Sugarplums Christmas

Good Morning!!!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far.  It's hard to imagine that next week is Thanksgiving.  I'm in such denial.  I am really not ready for the holidays.  It seems to come faster & faster every year too.  Either that or the stores start putting things out earlier.  Maybe it's both.  LOL!

Every Tuesday at All That Scraps the design team reviews selected stamps that were recently released.  I love that it gives me permission to play with my new stamps!  I hadn't had a chance to ink up this cutie from the Sugarplums Christmas set -Emma holding a candle, sentiment is from last years AmyR Winter sentiments.  Isn't she just a cutie patootie?

 

 

I decided to pull out my Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather paper pack again - this time playing with the non-traditional colors of purple, blue & brown.  And I must say, I LOVE THIS color combo!  I used Prismatics iced amethyst  for my card base layered with a lighter blue (sorry I don't know the color).  I had also wanted to play with some new bakers twine I picked up from Die Cuts R Us.  It is the yummiest twine ever and SUPER soft. I ♥ this stuff! 

My Janome was acting up and wasn't having the zig-zag stitch.  I finally figured out the issue, but there are a few wonky spots on the card.  Grrrrrr!

Claudia & Co. Challenge

 
 
Happy Friday!  And welcome to this month's Claudia & Co. challenge.  This month we have a color challenge for you.  Do you like BROWN & CREAM?  Then this challenge will be right up your alley.  And while you're using brown & cream, why not through in another color of your choice while you're at it?

 

 
  

For my card I was inspired again by the beautiful colors from Basic Grey's Jovial collection.  I started with brown card stock for my base, added a layer of cream then added the patterned paper.  There were so many must have, adorable stamps released this month, I almost couldn't decide which one to use.  As you can see my little Party Penguin won out.   Sentiment is from Puddle Jumper Winter Landon's set.

I added some of my favorite Sparkly Fluff, in sugar, for Party's hat.  It looks fantastic IRL.  To save time making my card, I paper pieced the hat and scarf with some of same matching paper.  DD insisted I used one of her ribbon bows for my card, then simply added a snowflake to the center of the button.  Not sure if you remember, but she & I made a few dozen of these awhile back using a fabulous tutorial from my my friend Tori Wild.  You can check out her tutorial ----> HERE <----  I highly, highly recommend trying it.  You won't be sorry.

Sketchy Thursday #108

Wow it's been a while since I've posted.  I've been tending to family stuff, DH had surgery Monday and it's taken up a lot of my time.  Everyday has been a blur.  I'm already looking forward to Thanksgiving for a break - hopefully!  LOL!

DH is doing as well and we're hoping he can go back to work in another week or so.  Crossing fingers & toes!

One of the things that helped me get through this week has been checking out everyone's Sketchy Thursday #107 entries.   I literally was blown away by them all.

Can you say BLING?!  Ohhh these look just like the real deal.  I want to hang them from my Christmas tree this year!  It's easy to see why I was drawn to Piali's card.  And did you see?  She used that yummy Echo Park paper.  I told you this paper was a must have.  It's the perfect companion to set off her gorgeous ornaments.    This card  is simply a glimpse into the amazing work Piali does.  You guys have to check out her blog, Touch of Creation - be sure to book mark it too!
