Have a cuppa....

A cuppa of Joe that is.  Well at least that's what I'm having this bright wonderful Monday morning.  Did I just say wonderful and Monday in the same sentence?  Whoa, coffee must be workin'.  LOL!  I say anything with "whip" on top is bound to be a good thing.  And so I caved this morning by stopping at Starbucks and getting a grande, white chocolate mocha to ease myself into my week. 

And how about this little cutie from The Cat's Pajamas?  On my last order from All That Scraps I couldn't resist picking up this new set called A Cuppa.  I just love this bear.  Do you notice anything else new on the card?  If you guessed the ric rac die then you're right.  Another thing I picked up on my last ATS order.  Christine has started carrying the dies from The Cat's Pajamas AND My Favorite Things.  Double bonus!!
 

I finally broke into my latest Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions.  This month's kit includes some yummy paper from Echo Park, called A Walk in the Park.  The colors are fun and the whimsical patterns are right up my alley.  And for some reason the browns just made me think of this bear and the card was born.  The ribbon and button accent is compliments of my DD.  She thought they were the perfect colors to go with the card.  I was truly honored too that she gave me something from her stash - she's a hoarder just like her momma!

A few months' back we made a bunch of these ribbon bows using my pal, Tori Wild's awesome tutorial. We must've made a dozen or so.  I like that she and I can share my passion for crafting together. 

Oh and do you like how I placed the sentiment?  I'm kinda liking it.  Quick tip - I actually had a mistake that I needed to cover up.  I had some ink on my finger and when I went to pick up my image I got some underneath the tea cup.  I was so upset too since it was all colored and ready for the card.  Rather than do it over (I hate to do that) I still had to decide on where to put the sentiment - I had a V8 moment.  Viola!

Sketchy Thursday #98

Just two more weeks and we will be celebrating here at Eat, Sleep, Stamp!  In case you didn't know we are almost at #100.  Every week that I post a new sketch I still can't believe it myself.  I know I've said it many times, but Sketchy Thursday wouldn't be if it wasn't for you guys!!  We will be celebrating BIG time once we reach #100.

Doesn't this just make you want to go trick or treating?! I love this card.  Everything flows so well together - from her paper choice to her use of the sketch.  Aren't those little skulls cute?!  Lindsay has been a busy bee lately.  She recently participated in a craft fair selling a ton of cards that she spent the last few month's making.  Be sure to visit her blog, Lindsay's Card Creations to check them out and leave her some ♥.  They are AMAZING!!   Keep your eye out for Elmo & Cookie Monster too.  Congratulations Lindsay on being this weeks Sketch Artist!!!

Halloween Kitty Review

Hi gang!  I had so much fun blasting from the past yesterday that I forgot to share my weekly review for All That Scraps!  This week we are reviewing Amy Young's Sweet November Baby Trick or Treats.   And are they ever cute!

You all know how much I love cats and well paired with Halloween I was in sheer stamping bliss!  My DD's very first Halloween costume was cat - what else, right?!  LOL!  I finally broke out my black thread - yay! for a Halloween card too.  And because I just could bear to use my new Cosmo Cricket Mathilda paper, I busted out last year's My Mind's Eye Boo to You collection which was still new!  LOL!  I sense a problem.  Do you?  I can't help it.  Once I fall in love with paper and want more it's no where to be found!  Does that happen to anyone else or just me?

Blast from the Past with Taylored Expressions

I'm so excited today!  Why may you ask, well it's time to play along with Taylor's awesome ........

I can't believe another month has gone by since the last blog hop.  The fabulous Sankari Wegman has created another awesome sketch to help inspire us.  Isn't is FUN?! 

I knew exactly which stamp set I wanted to play with for this hop too.  The image is from Cuppie in the Kitchen .  I had some of this apple paper left out on my desk from another card  and a light bulb went on .  Apple pie!!  Maybe it was my stomach too.  LOL!

It's kind of funny - I used to tell people I didn't like apple pie.  The look of it and the thought of warm apples just didn't appeal to me.  Then a dear friend simply asked, "have you ever even tried it?"  This was the first time any one had actually asked me.  So when I said, NO they urged me to try it.  Needless to say I LOVE it and more so with some vanilla ice cream!

Do you like this sweetie pie?  I just can't resist these cuppie images.  The sentiment actually comes with hearts on it.  I thought these red twinkle heart stickers from A Muse would help it POP a little.  The red gingham ribbon ties it all together for a kitchen-y feel.

Sketchy Thursday #97 with Mavis

Good Morning Friends!!!

If this is your first time visiting >>>>>  <<<<< And for those of you that are regulars hold on to your hats girls.... not only do I have a new sketch, but I made a card too!!!  I do love Thursdays.  Not only because it's time to announce a new Sketch Artist, but it's only day away from F*R*I*D*A*Y*!!!      My only complaint, if you want to call it one, is that you guys made choosing a winner this week REALLY, REALLY hard!  Oh my heck you guys rocked the sketch with your flowers.  Dang! In case you missed any of them, click on the thumbnails of the cards submitted to see them.  Be sure to leave them some love too!

Need I say more? I have long been a fan of Carol's work.  And it was such a treat to have her play along with the sketch.  You hear that Carol - you rock girl!  Seriously just look at the details.  The pattern on the blue paper almost looks exactly like her border punch.  Or vice versa!  And the embossed side panel where she cleverly used  her button TCP Cut Up dies!! I almost wouldn't mind getting a shot from Sprinkle with her cute little pink nurses hat too.  Notice I said almost!  LOL!  Congratulations Carol on being selected this week's featured Sketch Artist.  Please be sure to pop on over to see other crafty goodies from Carol on her blog, Scrap Just 4 Fun! 

 

Sketch 97

I made this card over the weekend using the darling Mavis from Stamping Bella.  She is a cutie patootie!!!  The image is called Mavis builds a sandcastle.  Sentiment is from AmyR's Underwater sentiments from All That Scraps.  Aside from Mavis being the cutest thing to hit the beach this summer, how about this HAPPY paper?  It's from one of my newest favorite companies - Echo Park.  I got mine from my last Project Pantry kit from Taylored Expressions - where else?  Taylor is always on trend with the latest and greatest!
 

I had fun coloring her.  I didn't like the way the inner tube turned out, so rather than starting over, I simply paper pieced it!  I neglected to do a close up shot (sorry), but I used my clear glaze pen over her sunglasses for a wet look.  And just a side note to my fellow hoarders..... I've had those blue brads for years from Making Memories the thought behind the purchase was "you never know" - that came in handy for this card because the blue matched spot on!!  LOL!

Honey Teacher Review

I've really been getting into the back to school spirit - crafting wise that is.  Today over at All That Scraps the design team is reviewing some of the new stamps that were released this month. 

I couldn't resist using Honey Teacher for today's card.  I love everything Christine draws, but these Honey'sare quickly becoming one of my favorites.  She is all ready in her denim jumper with an apple for her new teacher.

I was finally able to score a Report Card paper pad from October Afternoon.  I've been wanting one for awhile and since it is an older collection they aren't easy to come across.  Just a few small pieces was all it took for my card to come together.  I gotta hoard this stuff now!  LOL!  My favorite embellies to top it off.... red candy dots from Pebbles and poppy saddle stitched ribbon from PTI.

I hope you have been enjoying all of the back to school cards.  I think I'm pretty stocked up for this school year.

One of the things I love most about working with digi images are how you can resize them.  That's exactly what I did for my card.  Because there were so many cute images I wanted to make a little scene for my card.  As you can see I had fun using some more papers from my Boyfriend paper sampler.  I'm also loving kraft cardstock these days.  It's been the first thing I reach for when starting my cards.

Claudia & Co. Challenge

Woo-hoo!!!  It's time for another.....

LORi Boyd has created another fantastic sketch for us to play with.   

Here is my take on it.  As you can see I took a small liberty with the placement of my sentiment.   I used a digi image of one of the adorable Lollipop's that you can purchase at Die Cuts R Us.  This cutie is Ella Lollipop.  If you haven't tried digi images before you really should.  They are super easy to work with, cost less and you get them delivered right to your computer.  No stalking the postal carrier!

I used patterned paper from October Afternoon's Fly A Kit paper pad, which I also picked up at DCRU.  And of course my card wouldn't be complete without one of my favorite sentiment sets - So Random Sentiments, which happens to be on sale too!

Sketchy Thursday #96

Wow I can't believe it's already Thursday.  This week has flown by.  Still no word on my car.  DH is trying to find out if we can even get the part from anyone else other than the dealer.  We're hopeful considering the car is already 5 years old.  The problem is it's a Saturn (Vue) and in case you didn't know, General Motors closed down the Saturn line last year.   Soo sad too. I absolutely LOVE my car.  It's my 3rd Saturn too. 

Thank you to all of you that left me comments or sent me an email.  I appreciated everyones support.  I'm still upset about the pictures being lost.  There's not much I can do at this point.  I'm more upset with myself for not transferring them to Shutterfly or printing them out for scrap-booking.  I'm very behind on that and other things.  Are we ever caught up??

I immediately fell in love with Heather's card.  The image reminded me of my own DD.  She is going to be turning 8 this October and already thinks she's a teen!  This little cutie from Heather is just as spunky & sassy as my little one.  I love all of her sparkle too. She did such a great job bringing the sketch to life with all of her fun details.   Did you all know that Heather also designs her own digi stamps?  Yep, you heard it from me.  She does.  And they are super cute!  Head on over to her blog Heather's Coffee Break to check out some of her images and her fab cards!!  Congratulations Heather on being this weeks featured Sketch Artist!!
