Sneak Peek Day 5 - Sweet November Halloween

Yes!!!!!!!!!!  Time for more Halloween stamps!!!     I'm really excited to show you one of the new images from Amy Young's Sweet November stamps.  She has created a total of the 6 most adorable trick or treaters ever.    The images are a dragon (shown here), hero, witch, pumpkin, kitty and princess.  You will l♥ve and want them all!!

  

I kept my layout pretty simple as I wanted to focus it mainly on the adorable dragon.  One small strip of Basic Grey Eerie and the rest is cardstock.  I ran the green Prism cardstock through my tiny bubbles Cuttlebug embossing folder to give my card a scaley-dragon feel.  You can also see that I used my Copic colorless blender to add texture my little guy too.  Simply 'dot' the blender pen around the image.  The longer you hold it down to the paper, the lighter the dot becomes.  I also added some clear glaze around the eyes of the dragon costume for a glossy effect.

The pumpkin image is from the Sugarplum line.  You get two different pumpkins.  This tall one and a short one.  And last but not least, my little BOO! sentiment.  It's actually a die cut from Cuttlebug that I picked up last year after seeing my friend Diane Zechman use it on several of her projects.  It's SUPER cute.  They are hard to find online.  But in case you are interested I've seen a few listed on eBay or HERE.  There's nothing worse for a crafter than to want something and not being able to find it.  It becomes our mission in life until we do.  LOL!!!

Sneak Peeks Day 4 - Sugarplums Halloween

Happy Friday!!!

I'm super excited to share with you today a Halloween card!!    Christine has done it again with the Sugarplum kids.  Birgitta and Hansel are back and ready for some tricks & treats.  Christine even drew a little scene image. 

Here I used the background/scene image - fence with moon rising and placed Birgitta right in the middle of it.  She's waiting for Hansel to stop by.  Or maybe the great pumpkin (remember from The Peanuts Gang?). 

I watch the special every Halloween.  It's even more fun now that I have kids!  LOL!

It's difficult to see in the picture, but I colored over the moon with my yellow Spica glitter pen.  It looks so awesome in real life.  Definitely better than it does in the picture.  I stamped the sentiment, another one from AmyR's Autumn sentiments, inside the moon so I didn't take away from the scene.  See how it's all shiny?  I emboss all of my stamped images with clear embossing powder.   I love the look of it.  It does take a little bit longer, but I find the end result worth it.

2nd post for today - Sketchy Thursday #94

I'm back with a 2nd post today.  In case you missed my earlier post featuring a sneak peek from All That Scraps scroll down.    Today's new sketch is based off of the card I made for that post.

So I received a lot of positive feedback regarding the new linky service.  I was thrilled that you guys liked it.   Needless to say it's going to be staying.   I will admit I liked being able to see your creations right from the main blog page.  That way everyone who stops by gets a treat too!

Just like this weeks featured Sketch Artist.  I am excited to announce this week's winner is.....

I was completely blown away by how she used this weeks sketch!!  From the splash of color with this beautiful ribbon, to how she cut out the middle of the circle.... and my favorite part the embossed white cardstock and all of the pearls!!!!  Throw a cupcake into the mix and you have pure delight.  I hope that you will join me in congratulating Piali on being selected as this weeks Sketch Artist by visiting her blog Touch of Creation.  Thank you to Piali for her beautiful creation and to everyone that participated in the challenge!

Sneak Peeks Day 3 - Honey Teacher

Day 3 and going strong!!!!  Today's post is all about sweetness.  Here is a peek of this month's Honey.... Teacher.  She's her just in time to help you get your little ones or yourself ready for back to school.  While I do love shopping for new school supplies (the smell of new crayons & pencils!) it can be a little overwhelming.

 

It's hard for me to wrap my brain around that in a few more weeks it will be back to school.  Where did the summer go?  Anyone else feel that way?  The sad thing is I don't have anything to show for my summer!  We couldn't plan any vacations with my job being temporary and such.  I've promised my DD that as soon as I get a permanent job we will plan our first trip to Disneyland.  I hate that she's almost 8 and never been. Okay, sorry for the digression.  Back to my card!!

I just love these Honey's.  They are sweet and super fun to color!  Sentiment is from AmyR Autumn Sentiments.

I used a pretty simple layout and just two pieces of patterned paper.  The paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl line.  I used another little piece for her dress to keep it all matchy-matchy.  To make my apple nice and shiny I used my clear glaze pen after coloring it in with Copics.

Sneak Peeks Day 2 - For The Birds

Day 2!!!  I'm back with another sneak peek for you today.  This time it's from the wonderful and amazingly talented Diane Zechman a.k.a. Cookie Crumbs.  The set is called For the Birds. 

I mean after a certain age (for me that would be 29) birthdays are just that... For The Birds!  LOL!!!  I am turning the BIG 4-0 soon so I can say for certain (at least for myself) that's my take on birthdays as you get older.  So why not have fun with them?!  Diane's set does just that.

 

This is just one of the cute images from the set.  There is one with a cute kitty that I will share with you another time.  But it's SUPER cute.  You know me and cats.....  This one just happened to go with the patterned paper I had in mind for my card.   The paper is from a new company called Echo Park.  The line is appropriately called Summertime.  Isn't it just bright and fun?!  I picked mine up from my last order from Taylored Expressions.

As you can see the birds have their party hats on and are ready to have some fun.  And that's just what this set is.  Pure fun!  Diane always puts the cutest details in her images too.  Did you notice the little hearts she drew for their tails?  Love it!!!

All That Scraps Sneak Peek Day 1 - AmyR The Best

Woot-woot!!!  It's preview Day #1!!!  This has to be my favorite time of the month - sharing all the new stuff that is coming to All That Scraps.  And like I mentioned yesterday you won't want to miss any of these sets.

First up today is another fantabulous set from the amazing AmyR.  The set is called, what else.... THE BEST.  And yes it is.   

The set comes with some bigger words like SISTER accompanied by smaller fun sentiments that are all interchangeable.  They are very fun to play around with.  I've had my sister on my mind so I decided this card would be for her.  I quickly jumped for my July Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions to build my card.  The fun patterned papers from KI Memories were perfect for my sisters card.  The fun paisley colors and retro feel reminded me of her.

Here's a detail shot of another flower I created to coordinate with my card.  In case you missed my tutorial on that.  Click > HERE < to be taken to that post.  I colored the word SISTER in with a very light pink Copic marker before going back over it with my clear Spica glitter pen.  A little brush of C1 for underneath the letters for a little shadow.   Easy peasy!

Peace, Love & Happiness

It's Friday!!!!!  Well a trip to the doctor was what was needed.  I am feeling much better today.  Thank  you to everyone for their well wishes.  It's always nice to hear from you guys!

I  have a card that I made last weekend to share with you today.  As I mentioned my Taylored Expressions order came on Saturday and I was knee deep in new toys.  I found myself completely in love with Taylor's new Feelin' Groovy set when it came out which surprised me because it's a different set for me.  The 70's Project Pantry set that compliments it is packed with fun stuff to get your creative juices flowing.

Everything on my card is from that kit.  The patterned paper is from Doodlebug Designs.  SCORE!!!  I love everything from them.  I used some of my favorite Brilliance Pearlescent inks for the words on the card.  And see the rhinestone flowers?  Yep those are included too in the kit!

Here's a close up of the twinkle stickers I added to the flowers on the beetle.

I had a lot of fun with all of the colors in the card.  My daughter already has her eye on this set.  She loves anything and everything with peace signs.  Actually she calls it hippie stuff.  She cracks me up!

I have a ton of design team stuff to work on this week.  Next week there will be plenty of sneak peeks from All That Scraps and Claudia & Co.  So much new rubber is in my house it's overflowing from my desk.  I need to get some more storage binders. 

Hopefully the weather won't be too hot.  I have the hardest time getting crafty when it's hot.

Sketchy Thursday #93

Hello friends!!!

Sorry I'm a bit late with today's post. I've been under the weather all week and well this post almost didn't happen.  I have a doctor's appt. this afternoon and am hoping she gives me some antibiotics.  Keep your fingers crossed.

I was able to browse through everyone's cards from last weeks sketch challenge.  There were some really fun cards created this week.  You guys always blow me away.  I apologize that I haven't been able to comment on them all yet.  That's very important to me to do because I really appreciate everyone's support!
