Sketchy Thursday #81

Yes!!  It's Thursday!  And not only does that mean a new sketch, but it's one day away from Friday!!  I kinda feel like the little engine that could this week.  I think I can, I think I can.  You guys ever feel like that?

Well let's get this party started!!!  I wasn't sure if you guys were feelin' the sketch from last week.  It was hard to tell.  So please let me know if you did.  I always seem to get things backwards.  Like when I post a card I really love I don't get any comments.  Then when I post a card I think is so-so, I get lots of love for it.  It feels that way sometimes with the sketches.  KWIM?

Isn't her card just deli-sh?  Let's start with the colors - WOW!   The combination of blue, green and purple colors just POP.  This little pup is too stinkin' cute. Am I right?  And did you check out the flower soft on the topiary?  How about them pearls on the pot?  LOVE IT!!  This makes her a shoe in for this week's winner!

Wishing I could.....

Be stamping right now.  Isn't that always the case?  If not stamping, then how about chilling on a tropical island sipping a fruity drink?    I have another fun card to share with you today.  Emma wanted to drop by and say HI!  I had a scrap of razzberry fizz on my desk and knew I had to do something with it.  I also had this sentiment (from MFT Fairy Girl set) already cut & mounted sitting there too.  It was a scrap that never made it to another card I made.

*Tip - save those scraps!  You never know when they can come in handy.  Sometimes it will help bring your card together quickly.
 

I almost I forgot that I had some matching razzberry fizz ribbon too.  Double bonus!!  And since I'm obsessed with my new scallop trim punch I had to use it.  Do you remember that Emma came with a little furry friend?  She did.  She came with an adorable little bunny.  That's who the sentiment is for.  She is missing her little friend.

You make Life Sweet

Ohhh I'm so excited to share today's card with you?  Why, it's just another card right?  Well true, but I tried something new with it.  Can you guess what it is?  I'll give you a hint..... it's NOT the image.  But yes she is new.  Another new Pure Innocence image that my dear friend Michele H. stamped for me.  *Tip - a great way to stretch your stamping dollar -  have a friend stamp you images that you don't have and vice versa.  You can quickly expand your stamp collection!!  
 

Do you give up?  Okay, it's the button/ribbon embellie.  Tori Wild posted this GREAT tutorial on how to make these.  You can check it out HERE.  They are so cute and SUPER easy to do with Tori's step by step directions.  You should give it a try.  It's a great way to dress up your cards and use up those scraps of ribbon you have!
 

I also added some diamond glaze to my ice cream cone.  Here's a close up.  Easy peasy!!

Cupcake Kiki

Happy Monday Peeps!!  Did you all have a good weekend?  The weather was just beautiful here in Northern California.  We didn't do anything terribly exciting.  Just the usual weekend stuff.  My wonderful step-daughter did have us over on Saturday night for a BBQ.  It was wonderful to just be able to go hang out and put up my feet. 

I didn't have much time for stamping Saturday, but found a little time yesterday. Have you ever sat down to stamp and just found yourself sitting there?  Nothing was coming up for me, so I started blurfing (surfing the net) for some inspiration.  I was completely in love with THIS card from one of my stamping idols, Michele Boyer.  I loved it so much I CASED it in hopes of jump starting my mojo.

It really worked too.  I realized I hadn't used one of the newest Kiki La Rue images from C.C. Designs yet - GASP!  So I immediately grabbed this cutie  Cupcake Kiki La Rue.  Isn't she sweet?  After making this card  I was able to make a few more cards too!  I just love this patterned paper from My Mind's Eye.  The best part about it is that I only used one sheet of this beautiful double-sided paper!

Here's a close up of the paper piecing I did for her dress.  Doesn't her cupcake look yummy?!  Some cotton candy Stickles and a red pearl for the top. Yumm-o!!

Isn't this card absolutely stunning.  As soon as I opened Robbie's link I immediately let out a Ohhhhhh! She literally took this sketch to a whole new level.  Just look at the gorgeous card base.  And what about this color combo?  Cha-ching!!  This baby makes Robbie this week's winner!!

My take on this weeks sketch....

The card came together pretty quickly once I decided on my image.  I knew that I had to whip out my new Material Girl paper to go with this sweet Pure Innocence stamp.  Another image my dear friend and ultimate 'enabler' Michele H. stamped for me.  Thanks girl!! 

I added some diamond glaze to the apple, cause the shinier the better, right?!  I also played around with adding a pattern to her dress buy mixing up my Copic colors.

More Puddle Jumpers - Daisy & Friend

Hi Gang!

Did you all survive your Monday?  Well hopefully it wasn't too bad.  I did manage to keep any migraines away.  Good thing too, cause as of today, still no insurance coverage.  Everyone's good thoughts & prayers really did the trick.

Therefore today's card is dedicated to you!  Daisy is here to help me say Thank You to you all and her friend Davey (yesterday's post) for the get well wishes. 

Daisy is another one of the adorable Puddle Jumpers from Claudia & Company, designed by the AMAZING Lori Boyd!  And for those of you that know me, know that I just *L*O*V*E* this little kitty.  Ain't he cute?!  

I chose to keep with the brown theme like my card for Davey, but made this one more girly with the pinks & blues.  Patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye.  I also got a new punch recently from Stampin' Up! that is very similar to my coveted Fiskars Apron lace.  Can you all guess where those lovely pink pearls came from?  Well if you said Tinla, you'd be right!!  Thanks girl!

Get Well Davey

Monday........ Need I say more?  Well I'm actually in a VERY good mood, even though it is Monday.  I know this sounds crazy, but I really am in a great mood.  You see my headache did turn into a full blown migraine the other day.  And I am currently in between insurances so I wasn't able to fill my regular prescription.  Actually let me take that back, I could have, but I would have had to pay full price a whopping $426.28!!  If that didn't cause my migraine, it sure would have!

When it gets this bad all I can really do is try to sleep it off.  So that's what I did and yesterday was a good day.  I stamped up a storm and got things done around the house.   

I've been wanting to play with my token boy Puddle Jumper from Claudia & Company.  Davey dropped by to help me feel better. 

I paired him up with some paper from Three Bugs in a Rug.  It's from the Animal Stackers line.  I just loved the colors.  Pretty different for me since I'm all about the pink and pastel colors.  I chose 3 different patterns for my layout and stitched them together.

Here's a close up of my grass and Davey's glittery friend.  I colored him first with Copics and then went back over him with my Spica glitter pens.  Sentiment is actually from MFT.

Well gals that's all I have for today.  Keep your fingers crossed for me that my new insurance is approved this week.

Sorry I'm a little late with todays post.   I woke up with a horrible headache that is quickly turning into a migraine. 

So I will get straight to it.  Cause I know you are ready for a *FUN* new sketch and eager to see who will be crowned this weeks featured Sketch Artist.

Get out of town - right?  I have 3 words for this baby... CUTE! CUTE! CUTE!  These little guys are ready to party!  I just love the way Anthonette turned the sketch into a window card! Brilliant!!!  A super fun card that is sure to put a HUGE smile on the recipients face.  Many of you may know Anthonette from Sketchy Thursday as she is a regular or perhaps you know her as emnkksmommy on Splitcoast.

A New Puddle Jumper - Meet Reagan

Still feeling pink,  I whipped up this card over the weekend.  I had to play with 2 of my newest toys. The first one is this adorable new stamp from Claudia & Company, designed by Lori Boyd.

Meet Reagan, the latest Puddle Jumper to join the gang.  I just love this girl!  And this paper from My Minds Eye.  Isn't is just YUMMY?!?  Notice what the second new thing on my card is?

If you guessed  new Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 11 then you'd be right!  I wasn't initially sold on this set after it was released, but then I saw some cards made with it and I was SOLD! Funny how that works.  LOL!!

I'm not sure what the poodle's name is, but Fifi worked for me!  I used some cotton candy Sparkly Fluff.  I love that stuff.

Swing into Spring

Good morning!!  Did everyone have a nice weekend?  Is it just me, or are the weekends getting shorter & shorter?  Regardless I did get my wish this weekend.  That was to do nothing.  Well as a mom you guys know that that's never truly the case with housework, never ending laundry, grocery shopping, etc.  But with my mommy duties I still had some down time.  Woo-hoo!!!

So what's a girl to do when she has some down time?  STAMP!!!  Taylor offered another wonderful sketch challenge Friday.   And to make things even better, my dear friend Michele surprised me with some yummy new paper from The Girls Paperie.  Thanks again Michele!!!

I used Spring Emma and paired her with the adorable swing stamp.  Don't you just love her?!  I used this one sheet of the 12 x12 paper called patchwork, that was just PERFECT for this sketch.  And I guess crafty minds think alike, because after my card was all done I noticed my card was very similar to Taylors!

As I was putting her together, Jinxy was trying to "help" me by walking across my desk and she accidentally knocked over my spool of twine.  As it landed on me, I had a light-bulb moment to use it for the swing.  Glad she was around to help!  Oh and for those of you that follow my furry babies.... Jinxy turned 1 year old yesterday!!  It seems just like I adopted her yesterday!
