More Peeks!!

Did someone say cake?  Check out this yummy slice from the newest set from my friend Diane Zechman, aka Cookie Crumbs.  The set is called Time for Cake.  And who doesn't love cake, right?  Or maybe the sweet frosting.  I know I can never turn down a white cake with strawberries and whipped cream.  Yumm-o!!

There are some really cute and really fun images in Diane's set.  And of course the perfect corresponding sentiments.

Believe it or not I had everything to make my card already sitting out on my desk.  The only new thing used was my new rubbah!  Are you getting the impression that my desk area is messy?  Well you'd be right!

Sneak Peeks Start!!!

Woo-hoo!!  Let's have some fun peeping!!!

I have a sneak peek to share with you today.  Yea, I made a card!!!   ATS has some new images hitting the store on March 3rd.  They're called Baby Buds by MaryAnne Wainright.  There are a total of 8 designs that will be available for $5.50/each.  But why not try getting your hands on 'em for FREE!  All you have to do is pop on over to the All That Scraps Blog and leave a comment.  Plus you won't want to miss seeing all of the other adorable 'Buds' from the Design Team!

 

I had some more scraps laying on my desk.  Okay, okay they were laying on the floor.  But I used what I had on hand for my card.  Scraps are from My Minds's Eye Pretty Please collection.  I drew inspiration from my Lily at the Beach card from Sketchy Thursday #71.

Here's my card.  As you can see I flip it on it's side.  I had to pat myself on the back for not being so literal with the sketch.  I'm trying to work outside my comfort zone.  KWIM??

I used this adorable bear from Beary Expressions stamp set from Taylored Expressions.  I paper pieced her with some of my Bo Bunny Kitchen Spice patterned paper that I had, again trying to stick by my goal of only using what I have on hand.   I just love the colors of this paper.  Some brown buttons and brown/white gingham ribbon to top it off.

Sketchy Thursday #71

Phew!!!  Another week flown by!   It's been a lot fun.  As I mentioned DD has been home and we've had several scheduled play dates with different kids from her class.  It's been great seeing the kids have so much fun just being kids. 

Luckily I was able to sneak into the back room for a little bit to whip up a card for today's Sketchy Thursday.  I want to thank everyone that played along with last weeks sketch.  You guys are so amazing!!  And as always had me oohing & ahhing over each submission.   This week's winner really had me smiling with her fantastic card.

As you can see I ramped it up just a little.  The colors of the card were inspired by the yummy sun I had coming through the window earlier today making me think it was summer!   And this adorable Lily at the Beach image was perfect for a summer card.  She reminds me of my daughter when she was a toddler.  *sigh*  Those days seem so long ago.  She had an outfit just like this. 

I layered two pieces of Tempting Turquoise paper that I punched out with my Fiskars watery boundry border punch after running it through my Cuttlebug using D'vine swirl folder.  I then added some waterfall Stickles. After it was dry I used some pop dots to raise one of the layers to give it some lift.

Sorry I've been M.I.A the past few days.  DD is home on (another) winter break this week, and there seems to be even less time for stamping!  I don't mind one bit though.  I'm really enjoying spending time with her.  It's been a lot of fun. 

Today I managed to convince her to a little stamping time!   I just *had* to participate in Taylor's sketch celebration.  She is celebrating 100 sketches and has some AMAZING giveaways to some lucky winners.  Click HERE for the details.  Isn't this a YUMMY sketch?!  I love it!

I couldn't resist inking up my Flutterby Huggabug by Stamping Bella.  Here's my card for the submission:

I turned to my K & Co. Ka-Zoo Paper for my card.  This has to be one of the best paper pads I've purchased in a long time.  You just can't go wrong with double-sided paper!  I did get into a little trouble with it though. Too many choices!  Hee-hee!  I really wanted to use some black for the card after seeing THIS one from the amazing Pam Sparks.  It just makes the card POP.  As I posted this I noticed that the dots on the kraft paper look pinkish.  They are actually white in real life.  I kinda like that they look pink.

Before I go, I wanted to give a HUGE thank you to my ATS sistah's for helping me spread the word of my stamp sale.  As soon as they got the word out thing started moving.  Thanks girls!!!  I love you guys!!

I have another sneak peek for you today - more new images from Amy Young called Baby Bunnies.  Yes Amy did it again.  And this is just a snippet of the babies. Isn't this just the sweetest pair of friends?  I don't know how she does it, but I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad she does! 

Bet you can't guess what paper I used for my card?  If you said My Mind's Eye Penny Lane Whirlybird collection then you'd be right.  Can you tell I'm lovin' this paper?  When I started out with this card they layout was a bit different.  And then when it came time to put on the main image I turned the card and it just fit better this way.  Does that ever happen to you guys?

Mid-Feburary Release!!

Before I start today's post I was asked by a few people yesterday about the sewing on my cards.  I use a Janome Mini sewing machine that I purchased HERE.  I really really love it.  I've never sewed in my life and it's extremely easy to use.  It's also paid for itself over & over.  I've used it for repairs, hems and stuff around the house!  If you have any questions just ask!

In case you missed the first sneak peek from H.R. Designs yesterday,  head on over to the ATS blog to see what the DT gals whipped up.  They are fabulous.  Heather Rolin made another must have set featuring Otis the dog called Hippity Hoppity.  Too cute, right? Unfortunately I didn't get that set yet so I don't have a sample to share with you.  

My card for today features an image from a set called Spring Elves by Amy Young.  This is just one little cutie from the set.  I can't believe I'm already doing Spring/Easter cards.  It seems just like yesterday I was making Christmas cards.

 

I used some more paper from My Minds Eye Penny Lane Whirlybird collection. I just love these colors together.  The little bow flower accent was my trying to use product I had on hand again.   Ribbon from American Crafts, one of those little rolls you can get at Michael's.  The white plastic flower is from Queen & Co.  I picked some of those up at the Scrapbook Expo last year in the $1.00 bin.  Gotta love that!  And the sparkly purple flower is a brad from Doodlebug Designs.

Sketchy Thursday #70

Phew!  Where in the heck did this week go?  Crazy, crazy, crazy one I tell ya.

I did manage to get some important things done this week.   I rescued another kitty.   I've mentioned this one before.  He's a regular around the house.  The other day I found a huge abscess on him and he was running a fever.  I finally figured out where the cat lives and contacted the owner.   He seemed like a nice guy, but wasn't in a position to seek medical care for the cat.  Well neither was I, being that I'm out of work at the moment.  But that wasn't going to stop me from helping, now was it?     So I contacted my vet and asked if he would help.  He treated Shadow (that's what I call him) as a stray and gave me a DEEP discount.  I also had him neutered while he was there.  He spent the night in one of our bathrooms since he was still groggy.  His owner seemed happy, relieved and appreciative.  It doesn't get much better than that!

Okay, enough from the ol blabber mouth.  I tell ya, get me talking about my daughter or kitties and I just kinda go on & on & on....    Sorry!!

Your guys were seriously ROCKIN' last week's sketch.  Man oh man were there some great cards happening.  I was once again stumped cause I wanted to pick all of the cards.  DD even got into the act helping me decide!!

Is this card not just AMAZING???  Everything about her card just drew me in.   Her use of her Nestabilities and her Cuttlebug dots folder for one!  Hee-hee!  A woman after my own heart! *wink* These colors are just too cool for words.  The funky circles on the patterned paper are super fun.  And the clincher... yep those Dew Drops!  You can catch more from Lesley on her blog..... I kept the next sketch pretty simple.  I hope you guys have as much fun playing with it as I did.
 

Look at what I did, Mom!  I kicked the sketch up just a little. Actually I didn't really.  It took on a life of it's own as I started working on it.

Is this not the cutest little gal you've ever seen?  She's one of the newest Pure Innocence images from My Favorite Things.  I was literally stalking the MFT storefront as the countdown for their release happened.

I was going to paper piece her dress, but then decided to color it first and see how it went.  I'm happy with the way it turned out.  I used varying shades of yellow Copics to get the 'pattern'.   What do you guys think?  That's one of the nice things about paper piecing.... if you botch a coloring job you can paper piece over the mistake!  But for today's card I didn't need to. 

I can't wait to see what you guys come up with using this sketch!

More ATC's

Happy day after the Super bowl!  And what a game was that!  I was super happy to see the Saints win it.     What made the game even better was my husband's office did an office pool and DD won a square!  He bought a square for all of us and her's won - $250!!!  You should've seen her dancing around the house last night.  To her a dollar is big money.   She won't be getting it all to spend though.  We already told her it's going in her bank account.  Surprisingly she didn't seem to mind.

I don't have any cards to show you today, but I do have some pictures of some ATC's I did over the last couple of months. 

Using Papertrey Ink's Holiday Button Bits set made this one super easy to do.  I used Brilliance Pearlescent ink in Chocolate for the image and sentiment.  PP is from a holiday stack I picked up last year from Martha Stewart.

The next one was based off of THIS card I made back in December.

For my most recent ATC I CASE'd THIS card from my dear friend and ATS sister, Tori Wild.  She's a rockin' crafter and SUPER sweet.  When I ran out of this Basic Grey PP I reached out to her to see if she had any left and she sent it straight away.  Thanks Tori!!!   

I'm working on some secret stuff for All That Scraps this week.  I'll get to show you all in a few days.
