Final Sneak Peek - Flower Power

I have one final card to show you before the big release tomorrow night at All That Scraps.  He's back and cuter than ever!  The beloved monkey from C.C. Designs. 

For today's card I used my new K&Co. Valentine Paper Stack from M's.  If you haven't see this stack yet you won't want to miss it.  ALL of the papers are fab!  I don't usually love many of the papers included in these paper pads, but this one was a keeper.  To compliment my Spellbinders flower die, I used a large heart punch to make the larger red flower.  I'll have to take some pictures and post them to show how I did that. 

This color combo of yellow and red was very different for me, but I think it definitely works.  I hope you guys like it too.

Sneak Peek Day 3

I'm on a roll.... here's another peek to wet your appetite.  Today's card comes from another amazing lady - Amy R.!!  Amy is releasing another must have sentiment set lovingly called All Women.  For my card I actually paired to separate stamps together to make my card.  I love that kind of versatility in a stamp set!

This was definitely a different color scheme for me.  But I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.  My November Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressionswas the perfect companion to make this card.  The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Indian Summer collection.   I love the purple & browns on it.  And can you see the delicate skeleton leaves on the card?  Soo gorgeous IRL.  Yep another part of the Key Ingredients kit!

Sneak Peek Day #2 (Second post today!)

Hey girls! 

Sorry if I confused anyone with yesterday's post.  I originally scheduled for it to go live a day early!!  My bad.

In case you are just joining, this is my 2nd post for today. 

When I received my pile of stamps for February's release I made a bee line for this baby.  Isn't she just the cutest??  Her name is Darby (as if she couldn't get any cuter) and she is one of the newest creations from the amazing Amy Young and her Sweet November line.

Darby also has a BFF called Bumbles.  Any guess what Bumbles could be?  Click HERE to get a peek of Bumbles.  I started my card by first selecting my patterned paper which is from Doodlebug.  Cardstock is from PTIin New Leaf and Sweet Blush.  And don't ya just love this deelish ribbon?  My gal Tinla sent it to me.  Thanks girl!!

ETA:  I forgot to include the shot of the inside.  I *LOVE* this new punch I got from the American Girl line from EK Success!

The layout is pretty simple.  I can't remember the last time I used this color combo, but I do like it.  I can, however, remember the last time I used my swiss dots folder!  LOL!

Sketchy Thursday #68

I played! I played!  I played this week.  Woot-woot!   I wasn't sure if I'd get a chance to because I had so much on my plate this week (stamping-wise).  But I just had to play since I promised to play last week and then didn't. 

I'm thinking the sketch was a little challenging cause the numbers were lower than usual.  Sorry gals.  This week is back to basics. 

But I'm getting ahead of myself.  I need to tell you who is our fantastic Sketch Artist is this week.

Here's my card.  I really *tried* to stick to using what I had on hand to make my card.  Does a new package of goodies that were sitting on my desk count?  LOL!  They technically were on hand. 

Only a few *new* things were used.  Of course my new MS heart border punch and Jenni Bowlin Valentine Bingo cards.  My adorable kitty is from Diane's Valentine Critters set.  I was doing the happy dance when I saw she added a cat in her set.  Thanks Diane!!

Now it's your turn.  Bring on the pink & red!  LOL!  Just kidding.

Let the Peek's start!!!

Soooo where in the heck have I been you may be asking.  Well..... no where actually.  We've had some family drama and I'm just now coming up for air.  It was all unexpected.  Then again when is family drama expected?!  Everything and everyone is okay.  Just all the crap that goes along with family stuff leaves one exhausted, you know what I mean? 

Any who, I won't go on about it as I like to try and keep my blog upbeat and about everything stamping related.  But sometimes you just have to keep it real.  Phew.... okay now on to the FUN stuff!

It's preview time again at All That Scraps!  Definitely my favorite time of the month.  That sounded kinda funny as I typed that cause typically "that time of the month" IS NOT FUN!  LOL!!

Today's preview brings us another adorable Sugarplums.  This image from the Sugarplum Party set and has a total of 3 images (2 girls and 1 boy).

I just love how this color combo came together.  The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Penny Lane Collection called Whirlybird.  It's a heavier weighted cardstock and I love the thickness of it.  I was fooling around with my Spellbinders and decided to use 2 and make a frame.  What'da guys think?  Yay or Nay??

Here's a close up shot of the bottom part.  The sentiment is actually from a different set from C.C. Designs.  You may remember Pixie Pets Birthday Bash released last October.  I thought it went perfectly with this image.  I had to add a little twinkle to my dots too.

Sketchy Thursday #67

Phew!!  That was a close one.  I was totally freaking out about getting a post up.  It's not a great way to start your day with no electricity.  The last time we were without power it was almost 5 days, so I wasn't sure about this time.  I know shouldn't complain given what else is going on in the world.  So I won't.   

It was pretty funny talking to my mom yesterday morning walking her through the blogging process.   I wanted to make sure she didn't accidentally delete something. 

Thanks again MOM for doing that for me!   

I also want to take the time to THANK everyone that does play along with the weekly sketches.  Sketchy Thursdays are alive because of ALL OF YOU.   I also do try to make sure I leave comments for all the submissions.  I'm really sorry if I ever miss anyone!  Half the time I feel like the days get away from me.  KWIM??

Chanter Heartsong is playing cupid

We made it gals!  It's FRIDAY!!  Woot-woot!   And it also means that it's review day!!

I'm back with another card for y'all.  I broke out some Prism cardstock from my last Key Ingredients kit and my Basic Grey Sugar Rush paper pad.  This sweet thing is Chanter Heartsong from the Sweet November line at All That Scraps.  The amazing Amy Young is the talent behind these fabulous fairies.   Aren't they great?!  

I'll be the first to admit I found myself challenged with these lovelies.  But that's a good thing.  Cause if you get to comfortable as a designer you can't learn knew things.  That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.  LOL!!

As you can see I'm still slightly obsessed with my new Copic airbrush system.  I think the can is almost out of air too.   Seriously though I do like the way this came out.  The heart & sentiment were an after thought too.  I was playing around with stuff and then it hit me.  Add a pin to make it like an arrow through the heart.  The red on the pin wasn't working for me so I added some red stickles to them to change it up to what I wanted.  Oohhhhhhh I love it when light bulb moments like that happen.  LOL!  Can you hear the pat on the back I'm giving myself???  The sentiment is from the Gingersnaps Hey Cupid set that was released last year.  I still can't believe a whole year has gone by.  I'm so glad I got to stay on the team.  Doin' the happy dance over here.......

Sketchy Thursday #66

Happy almost end of the week gals!  I have a new little sweet something for you to jump start your stamping weekend.  I had fun playing along again this week.  As I'm trying to get a new routine together for myself part of that will be to do something stamping related every day.  Ideally that would be a card.  But sometimes you know your mojo just won't cooperate.  I know that never happens to us.  *wink*  That could be a day of coloring or just stamping images. You get the idea.

I know you guys are just as excited to see who the first featured Sketch Artist of 2010 is.  Am I right?  It was super tough for me to chose just one from this week's submissions.  Really.  They were all FANTASTIC!

A Challenging Monday.....

No not that kind.  The good kind!  This Monday went much better than last Monday did.  I didn't do anything different, but something just clicked and I made the most of it.  Gotta love it when that happens. 

I started the day like I usually do dropping off DD at school, Starbucks, then home.   Then it was time to scour the internet for open jobs.  Or should I say lack of.... Not good. 

After what felt like forever on the computer I decided to take a much needed break and get crafty.  Taylor's sketch was just what I needed to get me started.  

 

I really wanted to make another card with supplies I already had sitting on my desk.  I had this elephant from the newly released Valentine Critters from Cookie Crumbs Stamps done.  And since most all of my Valentine/Love paper is already out everything just fell into place. 

And on other news.  There's something that I recently learned that I just have to shout out from the mountain tops!!

My dear friend TINLA is on the design team for PaperWorks Co.  Actually she has been for several months, but didn't tell anyone!   Have you guys ever heard of them?  Their stuff is SOOOO cute. I know I will be making a purchase soon. *wink*  I hope that you guys will join me in congratulating Tinla on this huge accomplishment. I've always known she was one of the best crafters out there.  And it thrills me that she's out there doing her thing with a great company.  In addition to finding Tinla's eye candy on SCS you will also see her strutting her stuff on the PaperWorks blog.   Congratulations Tinla!!!  

Okay I gotta run.  My right hand is starting to go numb from using the mouse.  I hate when that happens.
