For my first card I have Trevor skiing in to wish you a warm winter.  This card actually happened by accident too.  I was playing around with a new paper slab I picked up at Mike's from Me & My Big Ideas.  I had this patterned piece out and the idea of Trevor skiing on the mountain sort of unfolded.   For the snowy zig zag below I used baby blue Stickles topped with Polar Flower Soft.

 

My next card has to be my favorite image from the Winter Kit, Santa Emma.  She's sittin' pretty on these two gifts.  Wonder what could be inside?  An iPhone? A pair of Uggs?  Don't know, but whatever it is I'm sure we'll love it!  Patterned paper is also from the MMBI slab.  Cardstock is from PTI.

Sneak Peek - Eskimo Sayuri

I have a card to post!  Can you believe it?  I almost can't!!   Today's post is using a new image from the Chubby Pencil line called Eskimo Sayuri.  I love this new line.  The images remind me of the Disney movie released this year - Ponyo.  My daughter and I *loved* this movie.  We were hoping it would be released on DVD for the holidays, but so far nothing has been scheduled. 

I wanted to mix up my colors to make this card look cold but feel warm.  Does  that make sense?  I turned to some of my new American Crafts Merry Mint paper for the background.  I used some shimmer white cardstock from SU! and  my MS icicle border punch before running it through my snowflake Cuttlebug folder for the middle section.  And what about this YUMMY ribbon?  Such a find.  In one of my many blurfing mornings I came accross Sharon Johnson's blog, No Time To Stamp.  Sharon also has a ribbon store with an awesome selection.  

Here's a close up of Sayuri and her bling'd snowsuit.  And her look wouldn't be complete without her signature flower.  LOVE IT!

Sketchy Thursday on Black Friday

Happy day after Thanksgiving!!  I hope everyone had a wonderful and filling day with lots of good eats and time with family.  That's exactly what we did.  

I apologize for not posting this yesterday but somehow the day just got away from me and the thought of pre-posting it just escaped me. 

I promise that the extra day was worth the wait though.  This week's featured Sketch Artist made *the* cutest card.  And when you see it, you'll see why it caught my eye.

These little chickies are SUPER adorable.  They are all decked out and ready for some holiday fun.  Of course I love all of the bling too, but what put her card over the top for me was the POP of the green felt ribbon and poinsettia.

Some Bunny for Christmas

Is Thanksgiving really this week?    I still can't wrap my brain around it.  I'm sure by Thursday it will all hit me.  I am very lucky in that I don't have to cook this year.  WOO-HOO!!!  Somehow I've convinced my mom to do it!   I can't wait too, cause her dinner is the best.  No one makes stuffing like her!!

Soooooooo can you guys believe I saw New Moon not just once, but TWICE this weekend!!  It was that good.  Actually I'm glad I saw it a second time because I feel I was able to make more away the second time.  A second helping of Rob Pattinson and Taylor Lautner is always good thing.    Tracy & I had decent seats for the midnight showing on Thursday, but there were a lot of tweens oohing & ahhing over the screen constantly.  When I went yesterday morning the crowd was on the "mature" and I had an AWESOME seat.  I may actually try to go again during the holiday.  We'll see.

On a sad note, my mojo has seemed to have escaped me.  I have NO IDEA where it went either.  I tried & tried this weekend to stamp and it got ugly.    So I just decided it was time to walk away and play with my daughter.    So if you happen to see my mojo around your house, can you please tell it to come home?  I desperately need it back!

Today's card is one I actually made a few weeks back.  It has the lovable bunny from the newly released Christmas Time set.  Isn't he just a cutie pootie?  I used some more of my yummy Basic Grey Wassil paper.

Well wish me luck with my mojo gals.  Sneak peeks for December stamps are starting TOMORROW for All That Scraps!!

New Moon Premire!!!! Oh yay & Sketchy Thursday #61

So if you know me then you know I am COMPLETELY OBSESSED WITH anything Twilight.  And I've been anxiously counting the days, hours & minutes (as evidenced by my sidebar) for the release of New Moon, the 2nd movie of the Twilight series.

Well my wait is almost over.  Tonight I will become one with my seat at the theater and soak it all in.  I'm venturing to the midnight showing with my bud, Tracy Falco.  I don't know how I'll be feeling tomorrow when I have to get up for work.  It's going to be a Red Bull kinda of day is all I can say!  But I have no doubt it will be well worth it.

Believe it or not this post isn't all about my obsession with Twilight.    Today is Thursday and that means time for some more sketchy goodness! Which includes a new Sketch Artist.    I loved all of the holiday cards you guys did this week.  And snowflakes seemed to be calling to me as did this card from this week's winner.

Pixie Santa Birgitta

Happy Monday Everyone!!!!  I hope you all had a nice weekend.

Is it just me or is it starting to look a lot like Christmas?  I swear it seems the stores get the holidays rolling earlier & earlier every year.    Maybe it's just me gettin' old.  And the pressure feels on this year for some reason.  I think it's just me worrying about how we're going to manage and all.  I just have to trust that everything will work itself out somehow, right?

Kinda like today's card.  I tell you I went back & forth a gazillion times and then I just had to walk away. It seemed like every piece of patterned paper I chose just wasn't the *right* one.  So I decided to get out of the house and run some errands and as I was driving the idea of having the sentiment in the form of an ornament hit me.  And it seems the rest fell into place.

Christine added 3 more adorable must have Pixies to the line up.  Pixie Nora, Pixie Santa Birgitta and Pixie Heidi with an ornament.  I started with some Prisma cardstock and patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly line.  Added a little stitching and my favorite Cuttlebug embossing folder to the mix too.  I couldn't resist using another one of my new favorites - Sparkly Fluff from Taylored Expressions.  It's very similar to regular flock, but kicked up about 10 notches because of the added sparkle.

I hope you enjoyed today's post.  And a BIG thanks for hanging with me these past few weeks while I wasn't posting much!

Back to our normally scheduled posts..... Sketchy Thursday #60

Ohhhh say it isn't so!  I've been M.I.A. for a week?!? I'm finally getting back into my normal routines after recovering from my pneumonia.  Boy am I glad that is over with.  I don't really do well when I'm not doing my regular thing.  Creature of habit I guess.  Sorry today's post is late too.  I just got back from the dentist.  Looks like I will be needing 2 crowns soon.    SOOOOOOOOO not happy about that.

I really must apologize for my absence.  I hope you guys will be stopping back in as I'm planning to get some serious stamping in the next few days.  I already have the December stamps for All That Scraps to play with.  You guys are going to flip when you see them!

And speaking of flipping.  I absolutely flipped for this week's featured Sketch Artist's card.  This week's Sketch Artist is a local Bay Area girl just like me.  Give it up for....

Isn't this card just amazing??!!  This card literally made me say WOW out loud that a few of my co-workers came to check it out.   I especially loved the bare tree image, but Anthonette's added details - green using her Copics, red liquid pearls for the berries and some frosted lace Stickles for snow - just put this card over the top for me.  CONGRATULATIONS ANTHONETTE!!!

Happy Almost Friday!!  What's almost as good as Friday is Sketchy Thursday!!  I've had absolutely ZERO time to be crafty this week.  I've been busy getting healthy again.  I had just about given that up when the antibiotics finally started to work.  I should be back to myself soon.

I have to apologize as well that I'm late in leaving comments for all of the wonderful submissions to last week's sketch.  I promise I will get to that today too.  I have SOOOOO much to catch up on so I will need to make this post short & sweet.

Once again you guys rocked the sketch.  It always thrills me to no end to see people working my little sketches into works of art.  And not to mention just getting out there and doing what you love to do - stamp!
