More Sneak Peeks - Otis & Milo

We've made it to Friday!  And so another week ends.  I have to be honest and say that I'm actually looking forward to something other than stamping this weekend.  Can you guess what it is?

AN EXTRA HOUR OF SLEEP!!  Boo-yah!!!  That's right.  In case you forgot this weekend is daylight savings time. And we FALL back one hour. Ohhhh sleep is good.  And since today's post is all things good.  How about some new cards?

I'm super excited to be able so share with you a new set from Heather Rolin.  And has Heather rocked my world with some uber-cute dog & cat images. The set is called Otis & Milo.   Heather is truly my idol.  Girl not only makes up some of the cutest images ever to see rubber, she also stamps AND just had a new baby at the end of September!  Wonder Woman I tell you!  Heather can you pass some of your energy on to me please!!

Now for some super sized sneek peeks to get you going for the weekend.  First up is this adorable image of Milo all wrapped up in a bag of toys.  He probably thought there was some cat nip in there and got caught.  I love how his little whiskers look all crazy like that.

Next up is Otis. He's being a good boy for us here.  No peeing on the tree now Otis!  He's guarding the presents under the tree from anyone who tries to peek!  I used some of my new paper from My Minds Eye and my new Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 9.  FUN, FUN, FUN!!

Here's a close up of the ornies I layered them with diamond glaze to give them more depth.

And this one is probably my favorite of the bunch.  Otis sittin' in his dog bed just dying to dig into his stocking.  I added some Fun Flock to his hat and stocking.  Some Doodlebug paper and my MS Loop border punch and my card was born.

Sketchy Thursday #58 - 2nd post for today

In case you missed this mornings post scroll down!  There was a sneak peek that I posted earlier using one of Diane Zechman's new sets.  You won't want to miss it.

If not then you are in the right place.    I have whipped up a FUN new sketch for you to try.  But first let me saw this week's submissions were my favorite ones ever!  I loved seeing how everyone was creative with it.  Several of you made 'peeking' cards.  LOVE IT!  All of you are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G designers.    And should all give yourself a pat on the back for just being who you are! 

I know first hand how hard it is to put yourself out there.  And YOU are the only one that needs to be satisfied with what you create!

This week's featured Sketch Artist is no stranger here on Eat Sleep Stamp.  She continues to inspire me every week with her creativity and amazing versatility.

I was feeling kinda silly yesterday when I sat down to come up with a sketch.  Must be all the cold medicine I'm taking cause I had circles on the brain.   Here's what I came up with.

Sneak Peek - Country Shelf

Welcome back to another day of sneak peeks!!  I just about died when I received my November stamps and saw this one from Diane.  I just love, love, love her new set appropriately named - Country Shelf.

I don't know about you, but a charming shelf with knick knacks will always draw my attention when I'm shopping.  My LSS is actually a crafters warehouse that is jam packed with fantastic and mostly hand made knick-knacks.  As soon as I saw this set I thought of the store.

The card was truly a labor of love.  It took me quite awhile to conceptualize how I wanted this to come together.  Then I thought of my mother-in-law's house.  She lives in Ohio in a real log cabin that my father-in-law built for her just before he passed away.  Yes a real log cabin.  It was something she always wanted and he saw to it that she got her dream home.  I just love her house.  You immediately get that hom-y feeling the minute you walk in the door. And there are a TON of collectibles throughout it on shelves just like this set.  My favorite part are the stories behind the collectibles.  And you know there is always a story!

The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses collection and reminds me of wall paper.  A run through my Cuttlebug using the distressed stripes embossing folder helped with some texture.  I *had* to stitch the card too so it had more of that homemade feel.  I cut each image out by hand after it was colored and decorated.  Sparkly fun fluff, Stickles, and these adhesive pearls (on the drawer handles) are just some of the things I used.  The pearls were in a recent package from my dear friend Tinla!    Thank you Tinla for always hooking me up with goodies.  I do use them!!!

Wednesday Challenge - Halloween!

Happy Hump Day!!  Well I'm still under the weather, but have managed to get my butt to work today.  I can't wait until I land a regular, full-time gig with benefits.  Cause right now if I don't work I don't get paid!

I can't believe that Halloween is this weekend!    This year has truly flown by. Lucky for me this week's Wednesday challenge is Halloween.  I wanted to give some love to my much neglected older C.C. Designs stamps.  For today's card I used Spooky, Spooky, Spooky set.  I just LOVE this set.  Another one of my very first purchases from C.C. Designs.
 

It was an oldie but goodie kind of a day.  I also pulled out some of my older Doodlebug Designs paper.  LOVE anything Doodlebug.  I couldn't help but think of my beloved Edward Cullen   as I was coloring this cute little vampire and listening to the New Moon soundtrack.  Just 22 more days until the movie!!!  And you better believe I already have my tickets!  I can't wait.  My good friend Tracy Falco and I are planning on a midnight screening.  Woo-hoo!!!!

Okay back to my card.  Sorry I get easily distracted by anything Twilight related. 

As you can see I pulled out my coveted MS web border punch too.  The sentiment is actually from AmyR's Autumn Sentiments set. I can always find the perfect sentiments when using any of Amy's sets.  Some Doodlebug buttons to finish things off and viola!

Sneak Peeks - Holiday Swiss Pixies

Good Morning!!  Sorry I missed posting yesterday.  I started coming down with something late Saturday night and at this point I have a terrible cough and not much of a voice left. 

We had a wonderful time at my DD's roller skating party.  I will post pix later this week.  Sadly we didn't get any of my DH & I on the skates.  We didn't look to bad out there I must say! 

Sneak peeks started yesterday over on the ATS blog.  In case you missed it, Christine has signed a new illustrator, Amy Young to design stamps for ATS.  And are they ever cute!  Check THIS post to see some sneak peeks using the new Fairy Sweet fairies.  There are 4 fairies to choose from with this release and will be available to purchase individually!  I have a few already colored and ready to go.  I hope to play with them this week.

I was able to put this together before I got sick.  She is one of the new Holiday Swiss Pixies.

I couldn't resist using my new Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses paper.  LOVE IT!! It pairs perfectly with PTI's Scarlet Jewel cardstock.  Some polar white Flower Soft to make a little snow, some diamond stickles and I was just about set.

I had my latest Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions out on my desk and I was dying to use one of my new toys - Metallic Maya Mist.  THIS STUFF IS AWESOME!!!
I know what you're thinking - a green snowflake?  Puhlezzzz.  I like it and that's that.    The sentiment is from an oldie but goodie and one of my first C.C. Designs purchases - Wintertime Fun.  My Copics and Chalks did the rest.

I hope you liked today's peek, green snowflake and all.  I have to crawl back into bed and get some rest.  Time alone is like winning the lottery for me!

ATS Review - Angel Emma

Woo-Hoo - it's Friday!!!  What's not to be happy about, right?!  AND, I have a card to share with you today.  BONUS!!

As is with every Friday over on the ATS blog, we review all of the sets that were released this month.  I couldn't resist using one of these adorable SugarPlums from the Angel Emma set.  After all of the cards I made last week, I decided to tone things down and go a little simpler with this one.

What do you think?  I really like how it turned out.  I used PTI kraft cardstock for the base and the red is from Prisma.  And this yummy ribbon is also from PTI.  It's one of the new colors called scarlet jewel. I also couldn't resist trying out my new Labels 8 Nestabilities.  LOVE them!!

Close up shot of her *shimmer*!  I used stickles and outlined her hair with my chocolate spica glitter pen.  Everything's better with a little sparkle, right?

Sketchy Thursday #57

Good Morning!!!!

I'm so excited, just one more sleep till the weekend!! We have a lot going on this weekend too.  Tomorrow night I'm taking my DD to Disney's Princess on Ice show with her Daisy troop.  And then Saturday we are having her birthday party at the local roller skate rink.  I was pretty surprised that this was what she wanted to do because she can't really skate.  But it should be lots of fun.  We've invited her entire class.  And I'll be the first to admit that I'm looking forward to it, because we used to go to the roller rink's all the time when I was younger!  The 80's RULE!! 

So now that I've talked your ear off, I bet you guys are chomping at the bit to see who this week's featured Sketch Artist is.  There were so many fun cards entered that it truly was difficult to pick just one.  So without further ado

I just couldn't resist Robbie's literal interpretation of the sketch.  I know I said that the shape was simply a place holder and you could get creative with it.  But girl worked those scissors.   She freehand cut this baby.  And Robbie this card does POP!! If you haven't checked out Robbie's blog, INKEDx2 I would recommend you do that.  She has plenty more eye candy there!

Congratulations Robbie on being this week's Sketch Artist. 

So here's your next sketch.  I like how the green shape is peeking out from the grey one.  You could always layer something else on top of them both too.  I think I'll have to play along with this one!

You win some, you lose some.....

It's the beginning of a new week and it's not starting off quite like I hoped it would. 

First I found out that the insurance company has denied our claim for Kitty Bones.  They have fought us every step of the way on it, which I had suspected.  Nothing is ever easy when getting someone else to pay!    I plan on appealing it.  Already have a call into the vet to help. 

And as you may have already read on Taylor's blog I wasn't selected to be on the Sketch Crew.  I am beyond bummed about it.    Even though there were so many awesome entries by the others, I still thought I had a pretty good chance.

I was however pleasantly surprised to see that one of my cards was chosen for something new Taylor has started with her weekly sketch challenges.  My snowman cuppie card is one of this week's Top Crops.  Thanks Taylor & the sketch crew!!!

As it is with my personality I'm trying REAL hard to find the silver lining in it all.  Not always easy to do when thing don't go the way you had hoped. 

1.)  Kitty Bones is still with us.    What could be more important than that?  I thank God everyday for that.  And more importantly she is as healthy as ever!  I wouldn't have changed a thing as far as her treatment goes.

2.)  Even though I didn't make the sketch crew, I am reminded why I stamp and blog.  Because I just plain 'ol LOVE it.  Pure & simple.  Everything else is icing on the cake, right?! 

My mojo took a little hit this past weekend so I don't have anything to show you today guys.  Sorry.

Last Cupcake Challenge & ATS Review

Happy Friday!!!  And welcome to a two-fer post!  LOL!  I have one last card that I submitted for Taylor's Sketch Challenge as well as a cutie I haven't shared with you yet.

Gals this is Birgitta, the newest Swiss Pixie.  Today over on the All That Scraps blog we are reviewing Birgitta, Amy's Congrats set as well as Julie's recently released Thanksgiving Digi set.  Be sure to pop on over to the ATS blog later today to see more samples from the design team. 

So what'd you guys think of my last submission?  I had *SO* much fun making this card.  It was one of those cards that just developed as I was working.  I used some of my new Autumn Flower Soft.  That stuff is just too fun to play with.  The flowers and cardstock are from my Sept. Key Ingredients kit.   It seems my MS border punches were calling to me again and I just couldn't resist.

I'm *SUPER* nervous   about trying out for Taylor's crew.    Did you guys see how many submissions there were?  Over a 100!  CRAZY.  It's always super scary to put yourself out there.  

Well gals I hope you enjoyed all of my submissions.  I really did have fun with all of them and feel like I did stretch myself to think outside the box.
