TCP Tuesday Challenge

Phew!!!  I just got home from the gym.    I figure I might as well take full advantage of the time  I have right now.   Plus I always feel better after wards.  DH is home with me today.  Who knows what trouble we'll get into.    Mind you we rarely have time to ourselves.  My DD is always with one of us. 

Before I get into today's post I need to get something off my chest.  It's been 2 weeks since I lost my job and not ONE of my co-workers has tried reaching out to me!  I realize that it may make some people uncomfortable because they may not know how I will react, but after 5 years of working together, sharing our ups & downs, family stuff, etc. I thought that I made some friends there.  I guess not.  It's one thing to lose your financial stability and livelihood, but it's something else to lose those relationships.  It just really hurts that none of them have even bothered to reach out to me.  Send an email if you don't want to actually 'talk' to me.   Okay I'm done.    I just really needed to get that out there.  Thanks for reading this far!

Now on to some happy stuff.  I was so happy to see that this week's TCP Tuesday was a sketch challenge.  This week's hostess with the mostess is the amazing Leigh O'Brien.  If you ever need inspiration you will definately find it over on Leigh's blog, Sunflower Studio.  The woman is pure talent!  Here is the sketch she came up with for this week's challenge.  Isn't is FUN?!?

 

I picked up this stamp at the Expo last week with Michele.  Isn't Poochie just TOOOOOO cute?!  I used some of my new Prism cardstock from Taylored Expressions as well as my coveted Doodlebug paper and ribbon.  And no card would be complete with out using my Nesties or my Cuttlebug Swiss dot embossing folder.

 

Well girls I must be off.  So many things I want to do, let's see how many I actually DO!

ATSDT42 - White on White

How did it get to be Wednesday already?   Sooo much going on the past few days.  Honestly I haven't been able to enjoy the time off much.  It's a good thing I still have some fixed things to keep me sane!  One of which is the Wednesday challenges over on the All That Scraps forum!

This week's challenge is another good one that will surely challenge you.  Today's challenge is to use white on white - only your focal image can have color.  I had no idea what I was going to do for today's challenge, but I had this adorable Gingersnap from the Spring Thing set, already colored and ready to be used sitting on my desk!

 

I don't know if you can tell or now, but those are mushrooms I have her sitting on.  It was one of my purchases at the Scrapbook Expo - Hello Kitty Mushrooms die from Sizzix!  Michele and I were *dying* at that booth.  We wanted to snatch up all of the Hello Kitty dies cause they were soooooooo stinkin' cute.  I *knew* I had to get this one because it immediately reminded me of Diane's Mushroom Friends set - one of my all time favorites!!

I also used another sentiment from AmyR's Friends Sentiments set.  LOVE it!!

Cupcake Challenge #60

Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope my post finds everyone having a great weekend.  Michele & I had a really good time at the Expo on Friday.  I think we both did good.  Got some essentials and a couple of goodies.  All & all I spent just over $100.  Not bad if you know me!

You'd think I'd be itching to play with all my new goodies, but sadly I got into a little fender bender late Friday that's left me a little bummed.  The good news is no one was hurt and the car has minimal damage.    But, just when you think it can't get any worse.  It somehow does.             Calgon take me away!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to force myself out of my pitty party by working on a card.   Taylor's Cupcake Challenge to the rescue!  Of course Taylor has another wonderful sketch to work with.

 

As you can see I used some new rubbah.  It was my last splurge before losing my job.  And who could resist?  This cutie is from Stamping Bella.  It's a new line called Ketto.  Meet Lulu.  Isn't she just adorable? 

 

I used some new paper from Three Bugs in a Rug - Bee Mine collection and some Razzleberry Prism paper from Taylored Expressions.  And my card wouldn't be complete without a sentiment......

 

The sentiment is from AmyR's Friend Sentiments.  I'm telling you guys you NEED this set.  It really is fantastic. 

Well girls.  I gotta run.  I have a date with a laundry machine and DH wants me to bake some banana bread.   What's a girl to do?

Review - Hunny Bunny

It's FRIDAY!  Ohhhhh yay!!!!!   And happy 1st day of Spring!! 

Well I'm planning on getting into plenty of trouble today.  I'm heading over to the Scrapbook Expo this morning with my good friend Michele H.  I've enlisted her to be the guardian of my wallet.  We'll see how she does with the daunting task.    My first stop will be The Cat's Pajama's booth to stock up on some TCP stamps as well as saying HI to Alma!

Today over on the All That Scraps blog the design team will have another fantastic review preview of two sets released earlier this month.  Honey Bunny & Gingersnaps Spring Thing.  I actually made this card several weeks ago and it was a complete accident how it came together.  I had just received an order from Taylored Expressions with a bunch of goregous ribbon and I already had this adorable bunny stamped and colored sitting on my desk.  The two were just calling me to put them together.    And this is what I came up with......

So I had to create some from scratch.  And the old girl wasn't having it this morning.

Happy Almost Spring

Hi gang!

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days.  I'm definitely going through all of the 'feelings' of losing my job.    Surprisingly I'm still finding that there are not enough hours in a day to get all the things I want done.  This is probably a good thing.  I'm not one that does well with too much down time.

Today I had a chance to finish up playing along with Jen del Munro's sketch for you to try.  Have I ever mentioned how amazing Jen is?   I always find so much inspiration when I see her work.     Here is the sketch she came up with for this week. 

 

I decided to continue with my theme of spring.  I've had this stamp, from Great Impressions, for a long time.  I thought it would be perfect for this challenge.

TECC #59

Wow, I can't believe it's already the end of the weekend.  I feel like I didn't get much accomplished this weekend.  But I did.  Must just be a case of the blah's.  Do you ever get that? Must mean my monthly visitor is on her way! 

Well I did manage to play along with Taylor's Cupcake Challenge today.  Here is the sketch....

 

And here's my card.  I would've been done much earlier, but I had to run out and get green thread. Don't you hate it when you don't have the supplies that you need?  Personally for me that's why I hoard.  LOL!! 

This image is from my last splurge with Greeting Farm stamps.  The set is called Lucky Bunnies.  I thought these little guys were too cute to pass up.

 

And it wouldn't be complete without a sentiment.  It kills me if I don't have one on the front of my cards, so you will usually see I post an inside view just so I can feel complete.  I'm not nuts, really I'm not.

TCP Tuesday - Color Challenge

 Almost didn't think I'd get this one posted today.   This week's TCP Tuesday challenge called for a color challenge.  Check out this palette!

  How could I *NOT* play?!    This week's hostess is Jen del Munro.  Check out Jen's blog for all the details on how to play.  And believe me it's soooooo worth it.  Every month Alma selects a Swanky Stamper and you can earn some free rubbah!!!  That's right.  So what are you waiting for?

Here's what I came up with for the challenge.......

 

I couldn't get this card done this morning.  Which is when my mojo is usually it's best.  I'm a morning person.  I know.  Don't hate me.  But it wasn't having any of it this morning.  So I did my typical Saturday stuff... gymnastics for DD, groceries, Target, etc.  Came home and downed a Red Bull.   Now I know why my sister always has one of those in her hands.  It's like liquid crack!  J/K

Anywho.... I wanted to show you a close up of the yellow cardstock.  I used the tiny eggs from the Spring Fling set with Versamark ink and then rubbed pearlscent light yellow chalk over them to bring out a little color.
