It's Sneak Peek Time - Cookies!!!

Hi gals!  Sorry I didn't get a chance to post yesterday.  But I wanted to let you know that the sneak peeks actually started yesterday over on the All That Scraps blog with AmyR's new set called Warm & Cozy.  And it is cute! 

I'm sorry I don't have a sneak to show you using Amy's set.  We had a little emergency with my DD.  She fell at school and it was crazy rushing her to the doctor, etc.  Good news is she's okay just a little banged up.

I do have a sneak peek for you today using new sets from Diane Zechman aka Cookie Crumbs.  The first set is called Cookie Jar (images) and the second set is called Cookie-Jargon (sentiments).  And you will want BOTH!  These sets are all about cookie love.  And as a carb-addict, what's not to love about cookies?!

For this card I was determined to use my new Janome Sew Mini.  You like?  For the oven mitts I used my Quickutz.  I bought one years ago when they first came out and use it a lot in my scrapbook pages.  I'm not sure where the PP is from.  I had a piece of it from my stash.

Sketchy Thursday #23

Yipee Skipee!!  It's time for this week's sketch.  I'm mixing things up again.  I wanted to do something special for the next couple of challenges so I contacted my friend Rhonda to help me out.  You all know Rhonda from her blog Crafty Blessings and she is this month's guest designer of A Muse.  I was in awe of all of Rhonda's cards that were featured this month on the A Muse blog that I asked Rhonda if I could feature a few of them for Sketchy Thursday's.  And lucky for us she said YES!!

I had a lot of fun with this sketch.  I got to use some of my new A Muse stamps.  They just arrived in my mail box yesterday.  Woo-hoo!! Love happy mail!  And don't you just love those hearts.  I picked those up at my LSS.  They're by Hero Arts.  I added some red stickles to the love birds to make them pop!

ATS Wednesday Challenge - Brads Galore

It's Wednesday and you know what that means!  Time for another fun challenge over on the All That Scraps Blog!  This week's challenge is to use as many brads as you can. 

Here is my card for the challenge.  I've been feeling in a stamping slump lately and my fellow DT member Kimmie suggested a sketch to help me out.  Kimmie by the way has an awesome tutorial using Shimmerz on her blog right now.  Click ---> HERE <--- to check it out.   I love this stuff.  I'm up to 4 jars now and could easily buy them all.  I did use Angel Wings on my Gingersnaps wings here.

The sketch I used was from Mojo Monday.  If you've never checked out the website YOU NEED to do that NOW!  Juliee Tilman and her team do some A*W*E*S*O*M*E* sketches!  And YES that is the Juliee Tilman of Verve Stamps!

I almost amazed myself that I was able to use 6 brads!  Yep those adorable hearts are brads from Queen & Co.  And I've been hoarding them forever!! And isn't this paper great.  Another treasure I've been hoarding.  It's embossed cardstock from the Betty collection by Love Elsie.  I tried to get a better close up of it.  Sorry it's a little blurry.

Now show me how you many brads you can use!  You can use any image that All That Scraps sells!  And believe me Christine has a ton in the store.  She just got some Magnolia stamps in.  Those Tilda's are TOOOOO cute!  To see a complete list of all the lines she carries click ---> HERE <---

Gong Hay Fat Choy & Happy Monday!

Happy Chinese New Year and Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a great weekend. 

Mine was nothing spectacular.  I had a lot to do outside the house and it didn't leave me a whole lot of time to stamp.  Most of what I was able to work on I can't show you guys yet.  Sneak peeks start this Friday, Jan. 30th over on the All That Scraps Blog.  So be sure to mark you calendars.  You won't want to miss this release.

I actually whipped this card up awhile ago and realized I never posted it.  *Gasp*  the shame!

Review Preview - Hey Cupid, Hugs & Kisses

Happy Friday! It's really wet and gloomy here in Northern California.     I don't mind the rain one bit.  I actually like it, not to mention we need it!

What I like most about this kind of weather is that its perfect for stamping!!!  

Today over on the All That Scraps blog there is another review preview of 2 of the sets that were released this month.  Gingersnaps - Hey Cupid and Hugs & Kisses - both by Christine Wooden, C.C. Designs.  And in case you missed it Christine just released ALL of her sets into digital form.  That's right!  You can instantly receive your images to your email! 

I finally got my mega curved rectangle nesties.  Love 'em!  I didn't have a specific layout planned for this card.  I chose the PP, by Bo Bunny and let the rest fall into place.  I let the colors of the hearts be my primary colors.

ATS Wednesday Challenge & a new toy!

Yes it's Wednesday and that means another day to play with some rubbah!!  Every Wednesday the All That Scraps Design Team hosts various challenges.  This week's challenge is one of my favorite techniques - faux stitching.  AND happens to tie perfectly with my new toy.

 

 

Close up of my faux stitching.  It's very simple to get this look.  Simply pierce your paper and then connect the dots!  See all you really need to know in life you DO learn in Kindergarten!!! 

 

For today's card I used one of my favorite C.C. Designs images - the lovable bear from the Bear Hugs set.    All of the paper is from SU! which includes chocolate chip and riding hood red cardstock.  The PP is from their new catalog.  It's called Candy Lane and a MUST have in my book.  I also used the new punch that I got with the Love You Much bundle I recently purchased.  I love the hearts included in this punch.  There are 3 different sizes to choose from.

Sooooooooooo are you guys ready to see what I bought with some of my Christmas Cash?? 

 

Yes I did it.  I bought another toy I swore I'd NEVER get into!!  Sewing on my cards.  WHY you ask?  Well the truth is I can barely sew on a button.  I kid you not.  BUT I just LOVE the look of sewing on cards.     Plus it was on sale AND I had $$ from Christmas burning a hole in my pocket.  Enough excuses to me to buy it?  No? 

So we'll see.  I can't say when I'll get to testing in out.  But I will tell you that I DID take it out of the box already.  Wish me luck, I *know* I'll need it!

More Snow Friends Fun

Hi there!

I almost forgot to post these two cuties.  Over on the ATS blog today there's a review preview for Diane's adorable Snow Friends set.  Here are the 2 cards I whipped up.  For the first one I turned once again to Taylor's awesome sketch from last Friday. 

 

I used my Cuttlebug Just My Type embossing border, the buttons, to keep in with the circles on the background paper.  I also couldn't resist using buttons on the sentiment!  The PP is from Basic Grey's Figgy Pudding.  I did some faux stitching on this one by first piercing the cardstock then drawing in the lines!

And here is my 2nd card.  There were a lot of details incorporated in this one.  With the paper piercing and the hand doodled border on the main image as well as the sentiment.  It's hard to tell in this picture, but I used shimmery white for the cardstock as well as rubbing white ink over the emobssed Navy cardstock.

An Award from Diane

Hi there!

Anyone else out there working?  Probably not.  Traffic was so light this morning, I'm beginning to think I'm the only that has to work today.

Inspite having to work today my personal email did have some happy mail in it.  I found an email from my friend and fellow ATS DT member Diane (aka Cookie Stamper) with this award.  Thanks Diane!

 

I looked up some info on this award and here's what I found.....

A Challenge and a Cookie

Hi there!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and had a chance at some stamping therapy.  Last night was my company's holiday party.  DH and I decided to enjoy a night out with adults.  It was a lot of fun.  There was a karoke challenge that was the highlight of the evening.  And just in case you were thinking... did she or didn't she?  NO WAY!  It would've taken A LOT of alcohol and I didn't want have to pay for it today.  But I must admit it was a BLAST watching everyone that did! 

I've been wanting this Magnolia stamp since Michele and I had a girls night out - which included a stop to our LSS (of course!)  I convinced myself that I *needed* to buy it yesterday in order to play along with Taylor's Cupcake Challenge.    Do you guys ever do that?  Or am I the onloy one with this sickness?

And here is my new Tilda stamp.  Doesn't it just make you want to bake some sugar cookies?!?     I'm pretty happy with the way this came out.  The micro heart borders look great IRL as do the sparkling hearts. 

 

My good friend Geeta (Hi Geeta!  ) sent me this new Martha Stewart border punch.  Actually she sent me another one - heart lace.  It's goregous!!  That's one of the things I love about fellow stampers.  We get each other.  I posted I was in search of these popular MS punches and within minutes I had several wonderful ladies offering to pick them up for me!  I'm not sure why the local M's here in Northern Calif. are so slow to put them out.  But nonetheless, I have them now!!
