TESC is back!!!

Happy Friday!!  I'm super excited not only because Taylor's sketches are back, but you are looking at the new TESC Coordinator!  I'm so honored to be tasked with helping Taylor organize the sketch challenges. 

Taylor is also bringing back a featured stamper who will be awarded "Top Chef" honors for each sketch challenge. Your design and blog will be featured on Taylor's blog during the following week's sketch challenge!

Here's my take on this sketch.  I was hoarding this fun paper from Doodlebug Designs since Halloween (I think) and just had to use it with my new Love Monsters set.  I wanted to do a non-traditional love card and this paper was just the ticket for that.

  
Here's everything you need to know in order to participate:

1. Create a card using the sketch as inspiration. Feel free to switch up the shape or size of your card. As long as your project follows the general sketch, you’re good to go! You may play as many times as you want. Each upload will be entered into our weekly drawing, so the more you create - the better chance you have of winning the PRIZE!

2. Upload your project to Taylor's blog, using In Linkz before 8pm PST on Thursday, February 9th. If you also choose to upload your creation to online galleries (like here on SCS), use the keyword TESC151.

3. You’re not required to use TE Stamps on your project, but we love it when you do! And if you’re drawn as our weekly winner and you’ve used TE Stamps on your project you’ll get a little sumpin’ sumpin’ extra!

Sky's the Limit -- Sketchy Thursday

Hi everyone!  Are you ready for a little sketchy time?  I have to admit I'm a little excited about the new sketch, as it came from a card I whipped up last weekend.  It's been a long time since I've had time to stamp just for fun, so when inspiration hits, you have to run with it. 

Speaking of inspiration.....I was very inspired by the submissions to last weeks sketch.  As I was creating it I kept thinking, "how would I use it?"  And let me tell you - you guys had WAYYYYYYY better ideas than I did.    You guys are good!  So without further adieu, please join me in congratulating this weeks featured Sketch Artist......

Isn't he just THE cutest?  I'm still cracking up at the little caption coming out of his mouth.  It almost looks like a burp.  I've always been in awe of these easel cards.  I have to try doing one myself.  Tammie rocks this one with her fun color combo and bubble borders.  The pearls are a welcomed added touch.  Her take on the sketch surely proves a whale of a good time.  You won't want to miss stopping by her blog One Happy Stamper.  There's tons of eye candy just waiting for you.

Where or where have my readers gone?  Anyone still reading this thing?   I checked the stats for this week and it's like crickets around here.   Where are you guys?   No love for me?? 

The week is going by incredibly fast.  Before you know it Valentine's Day will be here.  Even though I've been making a lot of love themed cards lately, it hit me yesterday - what am I going to do for DH for Valentine's Day?    I honestly have no clue!  I'd like to do something special that doesn't break the bank.    I'm still recovering from Christmas. 

So if anyone has any ideas they'd be willing to *share* let me know! 

 

For today's card I dusted off my beloved Pure Innocence stamps from My Favorite Things.  My newest Project Pantry kit from TE helped me with all the rest!  The patterned paper is from Pebbles and it is C*U*T*E!!!  One of my favorite things about it is the kraft color.  Score!!!  I had some hearts sitting out on my desk that I had pre cut using my hearts trio die from TCP and decided to add one to the corner. 

That's all the love I have today.  I'll be back tomorrow with some more AND a new sketch!

BLD Spotlight - PJ Suzy

Hellooooo!!  I hope your week is starting off good.  Lots will be happening on the blog this week.  All good stuff!! 

Starting with today's post from By LORi Desgins.  There's plenty of love going around blog-land these days and this cutie from BLD is no exception. 

This is PJ - Suzy and she is one of 10 new images released this month from my dear friend LORi Boyd.  I had some more of my new favorite papers out - Love Me from My Mind's Eye, so I decided to give Suzy a more grown up card.   I also  used one of my new *toys* from TE - medium layering doily die.  Isn't it pretty?!

 

These gorgeous papers made it easy to achieve the look I was going for.  I love how the red jumps off the screen.   I used my black glaze pen to give Suzy her black patent leather mary janes.  A few tiny rhinestones to her dress to make it pop a little.   I hope you will join me in morning blog stops to check out what my fellow BLD sister's have whipped up for you today.  Click ---> HERE<--- to be taken to the BLD blog.

Magical SFYTT

Good Morning friends!!  I hope everyone had a good weekend.  We got a little rain here in the Bay Area.  Not quite as much as expected, but we'll take what we can get.  I didn't do much this weekend.  It was kind of nice to just do whatever.  I finally got rid of my 10-day headache too.   It was a combination of a sinus pressure and a migraine.  After a quick trip to Walgreen's, I spoke to the pharmacist and she recommended sudafed and ibuprofen.  It worked! 

I felt so great yesterday I decided to stamp just for fun.  Woo-hoo!!  Of course I needed a sketch to help get my creative juices going.   I used Jen's SFYTT and this adorable set from TCP called Presto!

I wanted to do a love themed card with a more masculine feel.  Thinking ahead for DH and Valentine's Day.  **grin**   I chose to use some patterned paper from  My Mind's Eye Love Me collection and grey card stock from SU!

 

I love the way this turned out.  Very different for me as you guys know I'm more of a pastel girl.  I couldn't leave the corner without a little something.  I ran some of the red card stock through my Cuttlebug using the hearts trio die from TCP.   A button and some twine finishes it off.

ATS Review Preview - Sweet November

T.G.I.F.  We made it.  The weekend is almost upon us.  It's supposed to rain all weekend and I couldn't be happier.  1.) We need it, and 2.) it's the perfect excuse to stay in and stamp!

And as an added bonus our local boys, the San Francisco 49'ers are playing in the playoffs Sunday!  Go 9'ers!!!!   

Since I'm kinda in a celebratory mood, I thought this card featuring Jilly's Candle was perfect.

I used one of the new C.C. Cutters - Candle Border Die to spice up my card.  I used a piece of regular white cardstock and ran it through my dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.  Then I colored it with my Copics and Spica glitter pens to match.  I also used another one of the fabulous party time logos instead of a traditional sentiment.  The possibilities with these logos are endless.  I just love them.

Good morning!!!  Welcome back to another Sketchy Thursday.   It seems 2012 is going by at light speed.  I can't believe we're already up to our 3rd sketch for the year.

Where do I begin?  There's so much I fell in love with about this card.  I was immediately drawn to the paper.  Yep, I loves me some paper.  And then of course this fantastic image of Sassy Coffee Girl. This one is called, I'll Take Mine to Go.  Don't you just love it?  And how about her coloring skills?  You may not know this, but Heather uses Prisma markers vs. Copics.  They do not blend nearly as well as Copics, but she clearly makes that look effortless. Great job girl!  And the icing on the cake - she made her own ruffle and flower!  I'm hoping she does a tutorial to show us how she did it.

ATS Challenge - Blue, Brown & Tan

I'm back!!  Any idea on what my big announcement might be?  Could it have anything to do with my little logo above?  You bet!  Today is my official first day as the ATS Challenge Team Coordinator!

This weeks challenge is to use BLUE, BROWN & TAN.  Easy peasy, right? 

 

I had cupcakes on the brain after watching a few DVR'd episodes of Cupcake Wars on Food Network.   Have you ever watched that show?  Soo fun. I inked up this new Sweet November Fairwee - Josie's Cupcake.

I started with some dark chocolate card stock for my base.  I looked through some of my paper packs and chose these patterns from Echo Park's Life is Good to work with.  The layout is a take on ESS #156.  I used my new large layering doily die from Taylored Expressions for one of my panels.  Isn't it pretty?  I love it!

BLD Spotlight Post - PJ Sara

Happy Tuesday Everyone!  I meant to get this post up  yesterday, but as life would have it I'm starting off my week behind schedule.  UGH!!  Oh well, better late than never, right?  I'm trying really hard not to sweat the small stuff.  Cause I can get crazy with worry over the littlest things.

Are you ready for some LOVE?  Well not to worry - there is plenty to go around with BLD.  LORi released 10 new images last week.  And for a limited time you can get all of them for $25.00!

 

I knew I wanted to use my favorite new paper pad from My Mind's Eye - Love Me.  Once I had that decided the rest fell into place.  I'm having fun experimenting with my Copics and coloring.  For Sara's dress I went for something completely different for me - blues/green.  The pink felt heart is from a packet I picked up from Martha Stewart at Michael's awhile back.  The blue heart I made using my new Hearts A Plenty die from Taylored Expressions.  Note to self.... order more felt colors!!

Doesn't this card just make you smile?  Cyndi had a fresh and fun take on last weeks sketch.  Her color choices are spot on too.  I like how she used her swirls embossing folder for her textured background.  It actually looks like the wind is blowing around this adorable bear from The Cat's Pajama's.  And how about her glittered trimmed clouds?  Love 'em!  This card definitely pops my balloons!!!   Be sure to check out Cyndi's blog, Strawberries 'N Cream for more fresh & fun inspiration like this.  CONGRATULATIONS CYNDI!!!!
